      Can we get another rundown of this, specifically for those of us using an Apollo Interface and a patch-bay to handle the routing? I've been trying for days to get this to work, but it hasn't!

    Possibly the greatest vid ever made! Apollo + Pro Tools + hardware inserts is uniquely weird and idiosyncratic - I learned in a couple of minutes things that I could not glean from many hours watching and reading other half-assed tutorials. Thorough yet concise, and delivering the goods! This channel will be my new go-to when scratching my head about new things and stuff. A++

      Same thing for Logic. Use the Utility the I/O plugin and assign your out/in for whatever gear you are trying to use and process. Also, you can just hit “ping” and Logic will send a pop and it calculates the latency for you.

    Mitch, thanks a lot for a good tutorial! I use saffire pro 40 as the main interface along with ADAT extension board. I am trying to use some outboard effects using send-return template and currently experiencing some misunderstandings with Saffire Mix Control software. I am sure that the solution is pretty close but obviously I am lost in all those channel names and definitions. My setup for a channel is as follows:
    I send the signal to channel 3 which brings the it to the left (mono) input of the verb unit. The verb’s indicators show that it is receiving the signal. For the return two AUX channels are created which receive the return signal from the verb via channels 1 and 2 of the ADAT unit. The send fader is set to Unity and the return channels used to receive and CONTROL the amount of the return signal ok. I played with settings in Mix Control and have a problem now. The return signal can be heard all right but can not be controlled by the return faders in Pro Tools. Besides it can be controlled (the amount of reverb) with the Send Fader which looks pretty weird to me. The return AUX channels show the signal flow but they can not control its level. So, the “verbed” signal is heard only in Mix Control, I guess, and since it is not reproduced Pro Tools the final mix contains dry signal. I think that the problem is in my misunderstanding of how Mix Control works. Some help from you could be of great help. With lots of regards. Alex

    Why would you chose two mono in and outputs over a stereo for the reverb? Is it because of the 3 slot reverb and the configuration in the audio interface?

    I have my wa273 running out of 3-4 and back into 3-4. The problem I’m having is when I insert as done on the video . I can hear the difference and that it’s working but I don’t get any signal in my meter anymore. Which I assume is ultimately why I can’t print the sound in . Does anyone know how to fix that problem or what could be causing my literal signal level of volume to be non existent when I insert the hardware into my chain

    Does this require an HDX, carbon, or pro tools native system ? not long ago I tried adding the hardware delay compensation values with no actual effect. Currently using pro tools studio with an apollo x4

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 года назад +1

      Hey, Dimitris! Thanks for your interest. You do not need Avid hardware or Flex/HD/Ultimate to run hardware inserts, you should be able to set that up with Pro Tools Studio and the X4 given that you have the right I/O available and routed properly.
      Feel free to reach out if you need any guidance on this!

    Hay Thanks for the video, I ran into a problem. I followed everything to the T. I'm using a Lexicon MX200 connected to 7-8 in and out Focusrite Clarett+ 8pre. I can't hear anything coming through on my tracks unless I unmuted Focusrite Control input and Outs 7-8 which will play reverb from RUclips as well. I've really been trying to figure this out for a month now. Please Help!

    Hello everyone. When I do exactly this with my protools using UAD twin and x8 I get nothing coming through protools. Only my console is getting the signal. I have checked everything I am lost. Any idea why it is not coming back in? Also the latency compensation... .

    • @MartinLutherMcCoy
      @MartinLutherMcCoy Год назад

      I have the x8. There are some specific things to do to the console (select the right preset) and in PT i/o matrix listed on UAD website to make sure you are aligned with. Hope this helps. I'm still not 100% resolved but i'm getting closer. delay compensation is still an issue for me as I want to audition the sounds and make adjustments and then decide if I want to print or just use as an insert and not print. Have you resolved your issues since this post?

      You don't own any DAW. You're renting all of them. That is what a licensing agreement is. Some have a 1 time rent payment and some have monthly. Either way you don't own any of them.

    • @davidsotomayor8713
      @davidsotomayor8713 8 месяцев назад

      @@legacyShredder1that's simply not true. If you buy a DAW outright you own it for as long as you're willing to keep your system compatible. They obviously don't have to keep updating/adding support for new systems, but if you keep your PC compatible you can use it for as long as you want. I still have an old backup PC from the early 2000's running Sonar 4 and Pro Tools 5 (non internet connected.)
