    Hello Mitch, I know this video of Studio One Pipeline XT is from a year agio, however, I just purchased Studio One 6.5 Pro and this video has helped me more than any other video on the Internet. I can say I truly understand Pipeline XT. You are very good at teaching and people ae able to understand your directions. Also, you are a very thorough instructor. Thank you Sir for the great job you do at Sweetwater. 👍

    I couldn’t mimic how he is sending to hardware effects without getting a ton of latency. I finally figured out that using an FX channel instead of an AUX works perfectly. Just insert Pipeline and route it, no compensation. Mono send, stereo return. 👌

    I use Studio One but use an Audient id44 mkii interface. The way the inserted components have to be wired is totally different than described in this video. So if you don’t have the exact interface as what’s in the video… and you’re having problems hooking everything up with PipelineXT, you’re not alone! It can be done with Studio One. You have to go into the ID Mixer’s program and make some adjustments in that area for it to work. It’s not just the wiring paths are different, you need a whole bunch of other steps done too.

      ah! Same interface. It's heck of a complication on Studio One. I stopped watching on min 4.41 after seeing your comment. The other bunch of steps done is on the ID or on S1? cheers

    Hi Mr. Gallagher, love your videos as you make them so easy to understand. Question, can you please make video or send me information on how to use OUT BOARD GEAR WITH Pipleline ,Studiolive 32 and Studio One. Thanks George.

    Never done this before, but I wondered what the benefit of this integration of hardware into a DAW is apart from achieving flexibility? Obviously, one can also use software plug-ins and outboard audio gear at the same time. What am I missing? What is the "Be-all-and-end-all" benefit?

      The interface doesn't matter, in terms of which one you use. After you connect the StudioLIve mixer to the computer via USB cable, and you've set the StudioLive mixer as the audio device in the settings - Then just go to Studio One Preferences, then click on "song setup" button at the bottom, then go to your "Audio I/O Setup" tab at the top. Add all of your inputs and outputs here, just like he's doing in the video, only it will be the inputs and outputs that are available for the StudioLive mixer.

    Hi, thanks for you quick response, but your answers was not what I was looking for. Mr. Gallagher is a Focusrite Red, I'm using Presonus Studiolive 32s III mixer as my interface which is a different setup. Please explain how I would hook it up to do the same. Thanks George.

    Hi, I have another question, first I love all your videos. I have Studiolive 32s series 3. I followed the instructions in your video, but nothing happened, the Pipleline XT meters move showing audio is and going into my outboard gear but I hear no changes when adjusting the knobs on the gear, what I'm I doing wrong? You the only video on RUclips that shows this setup. Good for you.

    Is there a way this can work with looper as outboard gear? I want to plug in couple of different instruments in my Audient interface and than I would like to send separate processed tracks(of those instruments) from Studio one to a Stereo Looper (Boss RC-300). And than I would send that back to Audient in order to use that signal as a main output. Thing is that I would play all instruments live , so there will not be recorded tracks....all should be done with monitoring TURNED ON on every track inside of Studio One ... :) How to achieve that without interferences or feedback?
    THANKS

      Hey, Krsto! Thanks for reaching out and thanks for your interest. Based on how you’re describing what you want to do, you should be able to set it up that way. Latency is probably going to be the main concern since your signal would be routed in/out/in/out through the interface and DAW. It would have to be something you tweak and experiment with and (hopefully) get to a setup that you like. I’d be happy to help plan that out if you need any help! Feel free to reach out anytime.

    So if you use pipeline xt on a channel to incorporate outboard processing, do you then have to re-record that channel? How do you actually get the effect to render for mixdown?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад +2

      Hi Tatertotter25, good question! There are a couple of ways you can do this. You can export the mixdown in real time, which would allow the audio to flow in and out of the processor. Or you could print the track with the Pipeline XT plugin (recording it to a blank track, in real time) so that you can continue mixing and export faster than real time afterwards. I generally like to print my tracks, just in case!
      If you have further questions, just give me a ring!
