    Thanks for posting. I visited the park in the 70's as a 4 year old with my aunt an uncle. I remember it vividly as that crazy witch grabbed my arm and scared me silly. I still have a witch phobia to this day!!!

    Thanks for uploading this. I’ve been to the park many times since 2013, but my dad told me how nice it was in the 70’s. Now I get to see a glimpse of what he experienced.

      @@kategarb , no I didn't get to go to Tweetsie Railroad. I had a younger brother who was cramping my style at the time. :-)

    Thank you for rekindling memories from my childhood when I visited the Land of Oz! Even during a time coming out of Vietnam and gas crisis….it was good times!

    Thanks for uploading this. I went there in the early 70's when I was about 10 years old. The gondola's scared me when they hit the cable and shook. I loved Dorothy's house.

    This footage is amazing!! Would it be alright if I used some of it, with credit, in a video I'm working on about the history of Oz theme parks??
    Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of Oz history with us 🤩

      Yes, looks even worse than the ones made by WB for his first ausement park based on Looney Tunes, Jungle Habitat, park opened his doors to the public in 1972 and was closed forever in 1976

    So where did the balloon ride take guests? Just around the park, or back down the mountain?

    • @kategarb
      @kategarb  3 года назад +1

      Yes -just back down the mountain. It was the ski lift that was used during ski season. I think. Ski slope is still there and operational.

      @@kategarb the ballon ride took guests around the the park on top of the mountain. You could ride the regular ski lift or a bus to get down to the parking area.

      It's opened 3 days of year. Tickets will be on sale soon. They sell out quickly though since these are rare operating days.
