I bought a large white trunk to store my infant niece’s stuff in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg , as she comes to my house frequently. For now, it’s toys on one side and diapers, wipes, and other baby care items on the other. As she gets older, it will be all toys. I had originally wanted a trunk with a hinged lid, but I was afraid of her smashing or pinching her fingers in it. This will be a much safer option. The lid has great padding in it and it is actually nice to sit on. It feels very sturdy and secure. Looks like it can be wiped clean easily. If it gets abused by her, I won’t be terribly upset because I paid less than $50 for it on Prime Day.

I love the fact that you recorded the whole thing like you did. I hear horror stories about building IKEA furniture when you have to follow their instructions. As a single mom it looks like my mom and I can do it on our own🤞Is it comfortable to sleep on? I'm looking at this as another option for my bedroom since space is limited.
Sorry about the late response. It's been more than a year and it's still good so far, however we use it very minimal. Only sit occasionally and just used for a week to sleep for a guest.
Nice video, the part where you didn't film got me stuck for about 15 mins but overall it took me an 1.5 hours to build by myself.

May be you have done wrong sofa leg at 04:15. I think most of the weight of person goes to sitting section not on sofa wall. If you consider this your sofa can be long lasting stuff.

I don't think the design is the mistake. Lifting up is not that extra smooth it requires some power..
Ok, so os it just me or in fact it looks blue rather than grey? I ordered skiftebo,.it looked grey in the pictures and videos, but when it came, I was surprised to see it's kind of blue.
Mine is gray, not sure if you ordered blue. Or ask ikea what color was that..

If ever you find any cover for this sofa bed please update a video . I am searching a cover that can be put over without dissembling and assembling it again. We brought it a year ago from IKEA and its cover is stained at many places as we have a 2 year old kid. We use it a lot and the part which becomes bed sometimes it disconnects from sofa . It has been a big headache to daily attach it back to sofa again.

I think you need at least 2 people. Some pieces are heavy, but if you can lift heavy weight than you should be able to work by yourself.
Also, always follow instructions carefully on ikea products..

If you're wanting to get this thinking it'll be a comfortable bed, DO NOT. This is horribly uncomfortable especially for any prolonged period. There's a solid wood bit right where you might be laying down, forcing you to move your pillows down or somehow cover it with an aftermarket thing.
The actual expanding part is too cheaply designed to be any good, in time you will be unable to pull out the lower section if you put any weight on it. Do not get this. You would be better off sleeping on a soft couch than this sorry excuse for a sleeper sofa.
I’ve had it for 6 years and have no complaints. The hell is wrong with you? Lol
@@markl4798 how do you get around the wooden bar between the main section and the connected side section?
@@thugpug4392 I know exactly what you’re talking about. When I do sleep on it only my head will be resting on the side section. That way the wooden bit isn’t poking against my shoulder or back.
@@markl4798I tried that at first but I'm 6'2 so I can't have only my head on that section unless I want my feet to be off the bed. Even if that wasn't an issue I'm annoyed that the mechanism to hold up the pulled out section broke. It cannot hold its own weight so I'm limited to half the bed
@@thugpug4392 well that blows. Maybe next time try it out in person before purchasing. Also want to point out that I see people complaining about how IKEA furniture breaks all the time and etc. 80% of the time these folks either did not assemble it properly, or they used it improperly. For example, one of my guests leaned his body on that arm rest on that extended section. If you watch how that arm rest was assembled you will see that it was designed as a arm rest and not a back rest. I told him to stop doing it. Another example is a heavyset person over 200lbs throwing their body weight down on the couch violently. You do these enough of course the couch will become loose or break. Not saying it happened to you but I’m a 6ft, 210lbs guy and my Friheten is still as solid as day one. Just gotta be careful using it.

How long this process lasts for (number of hours)? if you have only two-person for assembling
From unboxing to assembling, first one took about or less than 2 hrs. Second one took less than one and half hours. Since we are good on assembling furniture it won't take us that long.

Any chance you could avoid using the side frames of this sofa? I see it's 90 inches long but without the sides, it'd be a perfect 80 for me (or 85 if I keep the shorter side). I'm thinking drill new holes in the back frame and edges of the chaise to screw in the legs...thoughts?
I think side frame is needed for support and to cover sectional part. You might be able to do the trick if you are good with DIY stuff, otherwise it won't stay steady..

I don't use this as a bed for myself. However, used so many times for guest and they had no complain.
But great for laying flat and watching movies. Don't want to guarantee the comfort, because it's a personal choice. Why don't you test in the store and you will know the comfort..

I’ve used as a bed and found it to be pretty comfy. It’s a queen bed so if you have children 3 can sleep there comfortably. Children that are in grade school or younger.

Yeah it's hard work. ikea does send someone to assemble if you need help and you have to pay for the service plus the delivery.
We just paid for the delivery and decided to assemble by ourselves.
