There's only 4 in string orchestra. Violin, viola, cello, and bass. They're so diverse though. It takes like 30 different instruments in concert band to achieve the same level of diversity.
I love this song, I played it in the 6th grade, it was so fun. As a violinist, my friend and I loved this song, listening to it brings back memories. I recommend it!
My bsf whos a violin is playing this My 8th grade orchestra is playing the nutcracker/Trepak for our concert lol Im a 1st chair 1st violin she is too vwjbdjs I cant wait to see her concert shes in highschool
Yay! Another who plays viola! I am 15 and have played since i was in 6th grade. I never had lessons, but I just practice to the best of my abilities. I'm surprise I made the 9th grade Chamber Strings, not first chair though. My class is playing grade 4 music, we are about to get to grade 5!
I am a Violinist and I started two years ago also in 6th grade and I am at the same level as the 10th and some 11th graders. Idk why or how, I guess practice lol
I cry whenever I hear this song, and I we hear we're playing this for orchestra. I would feel soulless playing without crying. I almost did cry and I had to stop myself because it was during a concert xD. I love this song so much.
I played this in 5th grade when i made it into chamber,it was such a beautiful piece.i honestly love Violas part (as a viola).without the violas,it wouldn’t sound like it explained a story. The viola part just swayed the entire piece and made it sound so much better.
Exactly! Without the cellos, the beginning wouldn't be as dramatic and wouldn't have had a contrast in rhythm throughout the song. Without the First Violins, the melody wouldn't have been in the song half of the time. Without Seconds, the Violas and Firsts would sound weaker. Without Violas, there would be no melody at the start or any harmony parts. Without basses, the song wouldn't sound the same at all. It's sad to know that people sometimes forget that all of the instruments are needed in any ensemble piece.
I just wanna say... thank you second violins and violas for making this beautiful harmony possible. Cellos and basses were awesome too. I’m a first violin, but I see the value in all the other instruments, unlike my classmates. To make such a beautiful song like this takes such cooperation, to work as a team with your fellow strings players. I felt this song deep in my soul. Comment if you did too.
@@whyamiheretosuffer7238 hey don’t switch because of others though I’m a viola and I’ve thought about switching because we almost were never noticed but kept on and then we played this song where we played the melody :)
Ahhh this is so amazing. I remember playing it in the seventh grade! Now I'm going to be playing it with the eighth graders to help out for their spring concert coming up, and I'm super excited for it. Oh and I play viola as well, we are amazing. ;)
I agree, especially with this piece. The cello/bass part needs to stand out more, as it just gives the lower octave "punch" that makes this piece amazing. As a cello player myself, I can drown out all of the violins, violas, and bassist quite easily, but when it comes to playing piano, I need to play around mp so people can still hear us. We're playing this piece in my grade, and there's only one other cello player, so the cellos definitely could've played out a bit more.
We just started this piece a couple of days ago, and we're almost finished with the entire song. I love this piece and how it becomes intense during the Tournament part (:
This is the song my orchestra ruled out years ago... I liked this song so much more than the other one so I come back to listen to this song everyonce in awhile.
I love orchestra I am a violinist by force....my mama wanted me to play violin but I've always had a thing for the cello it is an beautiful instrument I love it so much and the song is so unique I have to agree it's by far the best instrument. The violin is just to High for me it hurts my ears when I play on the E string I just can't take it.
This Song Just Calms Me Down After a Stressful Day at school, I Can Hear it in my head over and over again, Because i played it a while Back in 6th Grade :)
My violist friend: we need a song called the violas revenge Cellist friend: we need a song called the villas suck and everyone plays but the violas Other cellist friend: that’s every song
Our orchestra is playing this for our Spring concert! Ahh, this has to be my favorite piece because all the instruments show off their sound! Viola player here!
People its orchestra, every instrument is needed or else there wouldn't be a thing called harmony, which you need to make music. Hello music 101. Cello out.
I always play first violin, but for all county since our teacher came in late and we had 3 other songs to learn besides this one, he put all the violinists in our class on violin II, It was the best experience of my life! I love this song more than anything.
I am in orchestra!!! I go to Colerain Middle School and we are playing this song. Not only are we playing it for a concert, but for a competition at Loveland High School! Then we go to Kings Island to get awards!!! Best of luck to anyone in the competition !!!
omg. I'm in 7th Grade like now, and my orchestra, sinfonia and philamonic are doing a collab on this together for the concert!!!!! OMG. I usually dont like playing songs coming from the past but OMG. This is soooo good~~
Without the cellos, nothing would sound the same, I play the cello and I love it, everytime I play it, it's rich and deep sound resonates off of my chest and it feels amazing. First time I layed my eyes on it, I was like, I am so gonna play that and be awesome at it! And I am, first chair for almost the entire school year :) ♩🎻
Oml I love this song! We just got the price for my middle school intermediate orchestra and I couldn't quite figure out my part so I looked it up and for this and I'm so happy I did! I literally played it for an hour and forty min. Today. Thanks (violin)
We are playing this right now in our school. I'm a bassist and it keeps sounding like Pirates of the Caribbean that my orchestra played earlier in the year.

There's only 4 in string orchestra. Violin, viola, cello, and bass. They're so diverse though. It takes like 30 different instruments in concert band to achieve the same level of diversity.
got that right!
Susan Ismail I have like 800 kids in orchestra and only 200 kids in band

Yeah the viola parts great. I’m a cellist by the way.
Violas RULE
I play Viola and this song is great. I also love Night Shift by Richard Meyer. And omg Spartacus is great too.
Hello fellow violist
When I played the viola part of Spartacus in 6th grade, I loved it so much, but now, it’s pretty boring to me.
Yes violas for life

Why are people saying a specific instrument is the best it wouldn't sound good with every instrument in it
Couldn't agree more
it's probably bc a lot of people played this song in orchestra class so they have a preference for whatever instrument they play
Exactly! Without the cellos, the beginning wouldn't be as dramatic and wouldn't have had a contrast in rhythm throughout the song. Without the First Violins, the melody wouldn't have been in the song half of the time. Without Seconds, the Violas and Firsts would sound weaker. +Gamer Ella - Minecraft that was what I was saying at school but that is a better way to say it
+Gamer Ella - Minecraft your forgetting the third violins
VIOLA FOR LIFE im 15 and ive played viola since my first grade year this song I played in a concert and I had an amazing experience
Instead of arguing which section of an orchestra is the best, we should be saying that getting an opportunity to be in an orchestra is the best.
Cello gang
