We have even more iPhone rumors and these ones point to the iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra (thats right, the 16 which is over a year away) having a massive 6.9 inch display, up from 6.7 inches currently 👀
This begs the question: what do you think the perfect size is for a phone screen?

I already hate the current size of phones. I want them to bring back the mini, the current standard phone sizes already a max. The innovation of phones was always to make them smaller to fit in your pocket easier, all I'm seeing is that my phone is so big it weighs down my pocket😂
our best bet on them making a smaller phone is yeah a mini or potentially a flippable phone, I know apple has a reputation for implementing android phone features onto their phones years after they were created, so apple could step up on the folding/flipping trend
They’ve stopped the mini because of the lack of sales. They won’t bring that into the main catalogue (Maybe a SE 4 )

…um no. Obviously you don’t know how AMAZING it is to play games on a proper display, especially with the fact that the iPhone is basically an official console now. AAA console games are finally being ported over with ray tracing capabilities, and the bigger battery is also a huge plus for those. Think of it like having a Nintendo Switch. You wouldn’t want a smaller screen on that. This is no different. I used to think the same as you, but times have changed. A big screen is pretty cool anyways. You’d feel different seeing it in person-and the phone really isn’t as big as you’d expect. It does still feel like a really compact device/console for what it is

iPhone mini was pretty nice, only problem was the notch and the battery
I have 12 mini only last 1 hour had it since Launch at 61 battery health and is to small for me it sucks plus it's pretty old if don't carry about battery life go with 13 mini but for me it's a bad phone all around and is very slow in lots of games so it overheats won't last that long till new one
And also no pro features, is the reason why I want to upgrade but everything is getting ridiculously bigger!

Recently switched from the S21 Ultra which has a (6.8 in) display to the 14 Pro Max (6.7 in) and I think the 6.8 is just right to be honest.

I doubt the footprint will increase much if at all. They’ll make the bezels smaller to allow for an extremely minor increase to screen size

I’m an 6’4” so a 6.9 iPhone would literally feel smaller than the average person using the 6.7. I have the 15 pro max and I can use one hand at any corner. 6.9 iPhone would be a huge upgrade for me. It also adds more real estate for larger cameras.

For me 6.3 to 6.5 inch is the sweet spot. But this middle ground is very rare nowadays. I got a pixel 7 with 6.3" screen and I love that its not too small and not too big. The base models nowadays are 6.1" while the pros and the maxs are at least 6.7" !
They should make more something in between!

I’m 5ft so you can probably imagine how small my hands are. Making phones larger only increases my chances of dropping it. I have the last mini right now and it will be hard to give up.
Honestly I even find my 5.8” slightly big, I can’t reach my finger over the whole screen, phones were meant to be used with ONE HAND. Bring back the Mini phones.

I use my phone with a case and like having something pocket friendly the pro at 6.1 inches is just right for me. I can use it with one hand and the screens is plenty big enough for me

pros of big: better general specs
if something has to be adjusted on the phone to fit you or vice versa something is definitely wrong. you do not just need to get bigger, phones need to get smaller again instead.
A typical 6.7 inch phone doesn't even fit in my pants pocket. I would have to carry it in a bag or a brief case, which is not ideal, especially if it rings.
Thankfully I have big hands (my phone is 6.7 inches btw)

Genuinely uncomfortable, much rather a phone that disappears when I don't need it and isn't too invasive when I need to you it. The fact that I still have to use both hands to make it usable is absurd.
5.8 inch( iPhone X, Xs and 11 pro size) is the best phone size, 6.4 should be the absolute max a phone should be, any bigger and it’s essentially an iPad mini

6.3"-6.5" is ideal for me (with no bezels). Big enough to watch videos or use the web, but not so big it's awkward to handle. I remember when anything over 5" was called a phablet though.
Comparing the 15 pro max to my iPad mini 1st gen is like comparing and iPhone 4 to a 6s plus

I'm a big hands guy too. I had a 4s that was way too small, a 7+ that was okay but too much thin, a 11 that was great but a bit too thick compared to the 7+ (for real, the shape of the IPhone 11 was top notch). Now I'm on a 15PM that is perfect

Commenting from 2024. We've seen major leaks so far and it is a top rumor that the pro max/plus models will be 6.9 inches.
And while that is good for some people, apple should really discontinue the pluses and re-add the minis.
