- Ever wondered which is faster, a Ford Everest or Toyota Fortuner? We test
the new 2.0SiT XLT ten speed automatic 4x2 Everest against the 2.4 GD6 six speed auto 4x2 Fortuner. Yes we know these vehicles are not built for drag racing, but that's something we do, so you don't have to.

The Fortuner’s 2.4 engine is very impressive. I drove the previous generation Fortuner 3.0 and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 3.2 and this smaller engine feels more responsive than both of those bigger engines.

Here (India) we owned 3.2ltrs 5 cylinders Diesel engine with AWD via 6 speed transmission. Evry1 loves it.

Here in the Philippines we have Everest Titanium 4x4 2.0 Biturbo mated with 10 speed automatic transmission. I repeat it's 10 speed not just 6 speed

Bought my Everest from Eastvaal Ford Witbank too. 3.2l 4wd is such a nice car to drive in traffic.

Guys this was a much better video this time round, kudos to the drag race it's nice to see fat cars racing for a change. Once again add more personality and enthusiasm and less music to the videos. Ive seen it so many times with Ford xxx vs anything else : 1/4 mile they lose. But, take them on a track and they beat almost anything else. Id love to see what those 2 would do around a track !!
Hey guys, nice video. Suggestion : what would make people decide between the 2 vehicles with better certainty, is if price gets taken into consideration as well. For me, I'd rather have the slower SUV, if it means I have R30 k to R40k extra in my pocket. Also, put those 2 through the "Moose-test" 😂
Fortuner fails the moose test BADLY. Everest is fine

Did not expect this result, I also saw the Fortuner did not have the stock tyres which I think would slow it down a bit. Think the difference comes in because the Everest is heavy. Can you please do the test with 2.4 Hiux vs the SiT Ranger?

Hi Alex Wolf, in South Africa both the “lower” or “cheaper” versions of both Everest and Fortuner are very popular. Its that reason why we paired them up to see how closely their matched. Both units are Auto, best times were recorded with the Ford in normal and Toyota in normal with Power Mode selected. Thanx for watching. Have a great weekend!

Driving both the cars personally..
Both the cars is good..if you will drive more in city go for Endeavour and if you will drive more on highways thn you can go for fortuner..
fortuner is not comfortable for city drive..
I found following differences b/w both the cars is..
Endeavour- 1. More luxurious
2. Very very light steering which is comfortable for city drive as well as in heavy traffic.
3. Powerful break... very soft
4. Mind blowing AC cooling
5. Auto park option
6. Sun/moon roof which gives a good feeling.
7. Beautiful interior.
8. Active noise cancellation
9. Better suspension thn fortuner.
10. Smooth gear shift
11. Less engine noise.. sounds like petrol car

Guys, did you guys use this technique for faster boost?
Once you press your gas paddle, release it and press the paddle again, I think it will give faster boost for diesel engine, don't just press it just 1 time when you want a good boost

Keep in mind , if the Fortuner had standard Rims with tires then it will do better in the drag race as well as with the brake test ... because the Bfgoodrich tires that are much weaker than standard tires on the tar road ...

The results would be different if the vehicle weight was about the same. The Ford Everest was handicapped.
