- The longest passage with Karl so far: 350nm, three nights and four days at sea. It was an incredible passage with a little bit of everything. Karl did super well and we arrived safely in Guanaja!
Ahoy, thanks for watching and see you next week,
Nike & KARL

Nike ! your HUGE smile there at the end said it all.......so happy for you ! go go go
Greetings Captain Nike. This is Captain Strago from West Palm Beach, Florida sending you, Karl, and your friends a shout out. I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and have watched all of your videos. Your an amazing soul, love what your doing and feeling inspired by you. To see the sacrifices and struggle to get Karl ready and see the looks on your face as you sail Karl is so thrilling. I've decided to pick up the pieces of my life and get my sailboat ready for my journey. Much love to you Nike and Thank You. Safe and Happy travels and Happy Holidays. Captain Strago. Peace.
I don't understand how anyone can "Dislike" any Sailing video. You are beholding the beauty of this world through someone else's hard work and determination. Shame on that person.
I am so excited you have a first mate to be with you and help keep each other safe. So much fun....
The smiles on your face says it all...Congratulations!
We loved Mattieu's speaking debut. We have been waiting so long to hear him speak! Great video, completely jealous of your travels to Honduras. Hopefully this is the beginning of a much larger adventure. Wishing you peace and happiness. -Kristy
Bonjour et merci.......Tout y est! la musique, les images, la joie de naviguer!.............que de rêves à regarder vos videos.
Thanks Nike and kart ... I m dreaming my nex sommer sailing thanks to you two! Sergio... Rome....

You're really making bluewater passages. So jealous. So relieved you have crew with you. Thanks for the videos!
Nike, your videos always bring a smile as I watch you on this incredible journey. Thank you for sharing your adventure. You have come such a long way and have overcome every hurdle. You are an inspiration to all of us whom are with you in spirit. Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful and Happy New Year.
Excellent - really enjoyed this. 7:44 was a really beautiful shot. Well done!
Soo now you are officially a longer-distance ocean sailor, Nike. Congratulations ! ! !
So nice to follow you on this long passage. I'm so glad that Karl is fit. Looking forward to your next video.😄👍
Excited for you guys. New country, new adventures!

happy for you guys, finally a good long trip. hope the next will be even longer.
Nike, you are an inspiration. If my attempt to follow in your footsteps is even half as amazing, I'll consider it a success. :)
I love that big smile, and that great long video! Thank You!
It is a joy to watch You, your First mate and Karl, and it is inspiring to watch. If you get to Porte Cortez in Honduras make sure you see the town square with a tree that has a canopy as big as a city block. It was there in the late 80's when I was stationed there.
Shadow puppets at 5:19 -- nice!
Absolutely wonderful to watch your videos - I started at the beginning and I'm slowing working my way through. I have one question... Is there an end to all your talents? Sailing, woodworking, metalwork, German, English, Spanish, French not to mention drive, determination and confidence to follow your dreams. I'm in awe! I hope you keep going and never give up! Thank you so much for sharing! x
Great Sailing Nike! Congratulations and Merry Christmas....
so good to see you smiling like that it made my day girl.

Hi Nike...I have just discovered your website and spent waaaayyyyyy too long watching Series 1 & 2 from start to end..great story and fabulous filmography. Keep going...I sail solo and identify totally with some of the frustrations :) Well done..
Thank you for a very positive episode with Karl behaving himself.
Felicitationes! The three of you are awesome. Salutation à Matthieu. Il est un bon moussallion. BTW, you're a pirate, so you all should get along. Harr Harr Harr:-)
Well done Nike. It's a well known fact as your experience grows so does your confidence. Your definitely getting more and more confidence. Exciting pulling into your destination isn't it?
It's great to see you laughing and smiling, things are looking up.
Happy sailing and watch out for those pirates. : )
Magnificent! Congratulations on the long and safe passage. My favorite part was seeing you so happy near the end of the clip. Rock on Nike, Rock on.
You seem so much happier with a boat buddy on board during passage making. You need a permanent mate! Love the vid.

Makes my week seeing your videos, can't wait until we're following in your wake. Looks like you might want to check for chafe on the leeward jib sheet (where it's rubbing on the shrouds)... :) Looking forward to next week.
Awesomeness...!
Awesome sailing! I see a big passage for you in the future.
I really enjoy your videos!
Nice to see you put some miles behind you :)
great job. love the video. stay safe.
You seem much more relaxed and at ease with the additional crewmate :-)
Great video thank you..
Did you ever catch up to the Catamaran?Maybe get Karl on dry land and get rid of the barnicals on your ships bottom, it's helpful with drag!
Merry Christmas to both of you ! :-)
Great vid guys.
The night filming was really beautiful. Nice job. Have a Merry Christmas
Hi, I've noticed that your wind generator seems never to face into the wind but just swivels uncontrollably.
I think the tail fin may be too small and too close behind the rotor blades to keep the unit stable.
The fin on mine is about six times as big and keeps it facing the wind even when everything else is jumping around.
Merry Christmas!
Another wonderful video! Love to watch Karl in the water. You always do such a great job taking interesting shots and have such a touch with producing the video. how long do you expect to be in the Caribbean?
Hi +John Fox, I am happy you like the shots! It is not always easy to make it interesting, cause it is basically quite the same most of the time...But when I have enough strength and motivation whilst sailing (and the right weather), then I try to play a bit with the camera. For the production / editing, I have to forward your compliment to Patrice, who does the editing :).
Well well, sailing and plans...;) I hope to be crossing into the Pacific summer 2016...Let's see :)
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
I think this Episode should be called "Matthieu Speaks" haha
Wow, Carl is really stretching his legs…It's been a long time and struggle to get this far. All of the hard work is paying off. Nice to see you with a fellow shipmate for security and companionship.
joy!
love it
Hi Nike Glad you are safe at an anchorage. We remain at Nene's. My wife Mary went home for the holidays. She will come back soon. We've had some really high winds, so I'm happy you are safely tucked in at Guanaja. It looks like this will last for the rest of the week! I decided to have some minor surgery done here in Colombia before we leave here. No big deal but I just want it to be done with. It will allow us to be in Medellin and Bogota for a week, That will be great. Making lemonade out of lemons.
Hopefully you have a wonderful holiday for whatever is important to you. I always plan some big meal at Christmas time. We will certainly stop at Guanaja on your recommendations. You may be gone by then.
Take care and smooth sailing. I have so many boat repair issues. You are not alone!
+Bruce Bock PS did you have any pirate issues. We don't know how far to stay offshore, or to try to anchor at Media Luna or Viviaros for some rest
Take Care
+Bruce Bock If you happen to run into "Delfinia" they are our buddies. They are great people. Thet are in Roatan right now. Say Hi for us.
Hi +Bruce Bock, oh, I remember those strong winds at the anchorage in San Andres...quite the blow! Karl is in Rio Dulce by now, in Guatemala, not in Guanaja. The videos are like three month behind the "real time". We went all around the banks, and what seems also important, is to stay off the coast of Honduras once you go around. Some 20-30 miles maybe, if you can. But that is more on the trip from the Bay Islands towards Guatemala...I thought about stopping as well, but then I decided I wanted to get out of that area asap...especiall cause we were getting late and hurricane season was already on...but I heard and read that many people stopped and really liked it, especially the fishing :)
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
I'm staring out my window looking at snow on the ground. There's rain in the forecast and 2 degrees C. Believe me when I tell you, I want to be where you are. Those turquoise waters look so inviting.
Thanks for sharing another great video.
Frohe Weihnachten...Joyeux Noel!
water looks pretty
Ahoy guys! Just read your comment about the wind vane and although I don't know a lot about them, if you increase the physical size of the vane itself, (More 'sail area' so to speak) this may increase the efficiency of the unit. (I haven't paid close attention to the location of any obstacles in the vicinity of the vane, so please forgive me if this is obviously not possible.... Enjoyed the vlog - another fantastic effort! :-) Cheers, Mike
Great video Nike. Not sure you should use "pirate" in the title though unless you actually encountered some. Take Care.
I had never thought about pirates at night.
I here waching very nice
Wow a manual tiller
Forgot to say "welcome to the party Matty".
does that wind generator work? It seems to swing through every possible arc!
sweeet!
Great video as always! I do have a question if you don't mind. How do you choose which autopilot option to use? What are the benefits of both? Thank you.
Where are you, NIke? Been looking for #23 for two weeks. I hope all is well with you. An old salt...now an armchair sailor.
Hi +John J Cox III, all is well. It was a bit busy over the holidays, but the next episode will be online on Monday!
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
You don't need to worry about pirates, but how was Honduras, did it feel safe?
Your wind generator doesnt work when you are moving? You need a DuoGen
land locked love your sailing one day rv or boat
On 6,54 minute of this video yellow spots on water - what is it? are visible
ciguatera is not a risk?
So, in case I missed this....Are you and Matthieu an item?
+PDZ1122 If so I'm sure we'll know in time! The pressure's of the internet and your personal life! AHH! haha feel just about everyone putting it all out there goes through this.
what kind of a windvane is that? how is it working for you?
Its a windpilot pacific and it works pretty lovely. I have had some problems sailing down wind, but I will get some advice from them how to improve my setup cause aparently these windvanes are one of the best for going down wind.
Ahoy, Nike & Karl
Are they dating??
Nike ...cutting a guy's hair can be a Bad Omen for the relationship: ...
"She tied you to the kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair ... "
I'm only guessing, but I think it has something to do with Phrenology ... or familiarity ... Bart
incase of pirate how u defend your self
+Ron Han Most sailors carry weapons on-board Americans and Europeans alike, this is my experience having sailed since I was 20 (I'm 30 now) It´s just not advertised, besides, no need to do that. There´s never a problem carrying weapons on-board just make sure you declare them upon port arrival and that you can store them safely. I don´t believe she carries weapons on board though, but as long as she stays away from pirate infested waters (which you should do regardless) she´ll be just fine. I rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it, same principle with a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher. I hope I never get to hear either the smoke alarm or find a use for the fire extinguisher. But, I wouldn't want to be without either one. I also keep on board an advanced medkit and an AED. My girlfriend is also a nurse which is great but that was just a bonus you know :)
+knut761 good to know because i dont know the rules of carry firearm to liberal part of the world
Ron Han Make sure to do proper research before bringing a firearm on-board and that you have the license required. I would not advice you to either bring one or not it's up to you as well as your judgment. In any case, more importantly is to make sure you have other safety gear on-board first.
Fair winds and following seas. :)
Karl.... Sorry...
