Unhook the motor from the wiper linkage. Turn on, then off the wipers so the motor will "park". Put the wipers where they should "park" when shut off. Hook the wiper motor and linkage back together. Reassemble and retest. They should park at the bottom of the windshield.
I replaced the bushing prior to reading your comment, but the same plastic grommet failed! The transmission arms do not appear bent or damaged in any other way. I installed grommets using a socket large enough to fit over the ball of the bushing, they went in nicely, and worked like normal.....until the first heavy rain we had and I turned the wipers onto high setting and the same grommet failed again. Ugh!
@@olddude5529 I have replaced the bushings twice on my Saturn and both times they failed. I will try one more time since I have one bushing left, and if that doesn't work I'll get the transmission.
Thx for video. If you hear the motor working but wipers not moving, do you still need to get the motor transmission part or can you just have a mechanic fix what’s broken with another part?
Great video recommendation Chevy want to put a keeper pin on that so their arm don't fall off kind of like where you have to pull the front clip of the car off to change a lightbulb you Geniuses at Chevrolet most you guys at engineer this stuff for total morons thanks good video mine happened to be the motor when you told me if you could move the wipers that indicated a motor and the piece that usually falls off was Secure thank you
Unfortunately the Dorman replacement linkage assembly use the cheap plastic bushing. They're almost 100% fail rate. I've use their replacement bushings and they fail every few months. The only way to go is GM or some hillbilly shit with a bolt and washer
Dude you helped me fix my girlfriends car. Your video was extremely helpful I’m very grateful thank you sir!!!
Wipers just quit tonight …. Thanks for this informative video. I’m sure you saved me a couple hundred dollars! 😎
Reset the wipers near the end. That’s the tip I needed! Thank you sir!!!
Thanks for your help! Going to work on this tomorrow. Would be lost without the video!
Thanks! I hope it went well for you.
Helluva lot easier than changing a freakin head light on this model.....
Ain’t that the truth….pulling the whole bumper assembly and tire is BS.
@@sethkearl8056you dont need to do either of those things lol
Excellent video. Had no problem with the replacement but now the wiper arms stop in the up position when I turn them off. What did I do wrong? Lol

I went through two wiper transmissions on my 2011 at $150 a piece. But this last time I discovered you can buy just those plastic bushings for $5-$10.
So you don’t need a new wiper transmission? Just those plastic bushings?
Saadi Madina correct...
Greg Keener where can I get those plastic bushings for $10 instead of buying the $60 assembly part the mechanic has posted?

Great video! Easy to understand and saved me $$$. Thanks.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
How do I repair my power windows. I can't get them to work. They just stopped working. Only one works. The passenger side window in the front.
🙏 Thank you!
Awesome great help!
Great info, thankyou.
Nice video!
Thanks!
