Just hearing the opening strains to this beautiful instrument, brought tears to my eyes. I'm in the middle of learning beginner Finnish on Duolingo; and I kept coming across this word, Kantele; but had no context, really, with which to compare it to. It reminds me of the time I was in San Francisco on that huge hill; and I guess an Irishman, was playing something kind of like this; but with little rubber hammers that would strike the strings. Gorgeous sound! DM
Love this melody! Is there also sheet music, maybe a PFD or a book with other lovely traditional kantele songs? I would like to try and play this myself :-)

I just started learning Finnish on Duolingo too, and it brought me here. It truly is a beautiful sound.

Has existed for a lot longer than the first Russian state ever has, since we Finnics created Russia. Your inferiority complex is jumping out.
