Kenmore 800 - Full Normal “Express” Cycle

- Hello everyone! Today’s video brings us to a new location, and a new washer. This is a Kenmore 800 Series machine, with Auto Load Sensing. These washers are rather unique in the way they operate, while still washing and spinning like your traditional Direct Drive machine. I plan to make more videos of this when I can, but for starters, I figured I’d do a quicker cycle. I hope you all enjoy!
Cycle Selections: Regular Soil - Hot/Cold - No Softener Added - One Rinse - Express wash
Detergent: Gain “Island Fresh” powder
I was just looking at one that someone threw away!!! I am thinking about rescuing it
Great video, Henry. IMO, these machines weren't needed. I feel like they were doing too much. Just let the user select the desired water level and be done with it.
Yeah, this machine wasn’t needed. We would’ve needed it if it had load size options.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv These machines were introduced as models that would meet the EPA standards set at the time on water conservation. However the use of softener causes the rinse fill to be all the way up, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Agree, but I love the way these fill up.
Could I see the heavy duty with soak and the bulky/bedding cycles?
@@pony7124 Yes of course
@@DrummerboysWashersAndMore thanks!
Do the Lid Switch & the Fabric Softener Option act as the Deep Fill Option?
@@raptorbirdsfan2024 In a sense, yes. If the lid is opened at any point during the fill or wash, the machine will default to the highest full level. When the Fabric Softener switch is set to on, for the rinse cycle only, it will also ignore the previous water level it filled to for wash, and fill all the way.
Why the different water pressures if it's on hot?
@@makmelaf This washer has auto temperature control, so it occasionally will add some cold water in order to keep the temperate at a specific level. In this case, with “hot” selected, it will aim to keep the water temperature around 130F. It will do the same thing on cold, in order to try and reach around 75 F to evenly dissolve detergent.
Why is almost the same washer like my cousin that’s in the garage
Do you still have another washers from your garage
@@amazinginterstate95ownbtcp84 Not with me, but I have some videos pre recorded to upload
