- As a part of my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE review I wanted to test the Galaxy S21 FE camera with other smartphones in its price category. The Galaxy S21 FE vs Pixel 6 camera was highly requested so I compared these two cameras first. The Google Pixel 6 is $100 less than the Galaxy S21 FE 5G so should you save some money and go with the Pixel 6 camera instead? Let me know which one you think won.

Samsung fan here but in many cases the HDR of the Pixel is much better.. Depends on the conditions both take good photos.. A plus to Samsung for the extra zoom.

Seems like Samsung and Google are great companies, in sharing their tech. And they're going to be upgraded their OS system into one. This is going to be very interesting for both companies as Google is going to still work on their own product in best picture and Samsung with the most tech you could get out of any phone.

Thanks for a great comparison. I'm still rocking the 'lowly' Pixel 3a, but I love the way it's receiving the latest updates even now, and the camera isn't bad at all, so I suspect I'll be upgrading to the Pixel 6.

I use a 4a and I think it takes great photos. The only reason I would have switched is for videos which i don't think Google is there yet. Maybe pixel 7...

They both had their moments. I get my FE tomorrow. I have been a Samsung fan for a long time now and they never disappoint. For the price you can't beat it! I wanted the S21 Ultra but I guess Samsung discontinued it.

Danny could you zoom in the pictures more often? Especially on my OnePlus pictures will often look great untill you zoom in and it's just a mess with heavy NR and high sharpening to compensate that results in a oil painting

Pixels have really improved their video game. Very sharp and detailed even though lil dark, atleast from the rear camera. Front video isnt there yet
Samsung needs to work on controlling the exposure and color tones. But the video stabilization of samsung is really awesome.

Personally I'd pick the SAMSUNG even though the Pixel 6 seems the slightly better photographer's tool. Samsung UI and ecosystem is extensive and I prefer to grant some of my data to them rather than Google.

I am so frustrated by the Pixel 6 Pro since they've got the hardware and software on point but just got some configs/tuning wrong
I love the pics on my 6Pro. The pics are very similar. I'm not a photographer so the minor differences don't phase me at all.
As the video starts, the video shot by 21Fe seems to be so clear and real!!
Hey thanks for doing a great comparison and I’d have to give it to the pixel six as it’s 100 bucks cheaper if you buy it retail . I think it comes down to do you like Samsung‘s version of android or googles version of android ?
In my opinion, there is no point in choosing there both great phones with great capabilities, and where one may lag behind usually be fixed with with soft ware and editing
I took the S21 FE back, and I'm using a S9 again. I found the nighttime pics and video with really bad quality, and I'd never posted them. Day time is okay, but I lost really cool party moments, even 1080p videos were ultra choppy.

for me who likes to edit photo before sharing it in socmed, i would prefer pixel more than samsung. what i like is details in picture and consistency. but i still frustrated with pixel's video stabilization. hope they can fix it.
Until yesterday I had a pixel 4a 5G but it decided to suddenly die. I got it because of the camera and would have upgraded to another pixel if this one wouldn't have died the way it did. For the price and support given by Samsung here in Mexico I decided to give them a try. Nice to see galaxy S21 FE is a proud competitor, not overwhelmingly crushed by the pixel. I will miss my pixel nevertheless

Hay danny i think to buy Android phone under 50k in india n my need best camera photography(gcam use alot to get great pics),smooth performance, stable network,strong battery, longtime use 5yrs apprx., I m non gammer but heavy content consumption i use to do. So which phone under 50-55k i buy.

Pixel do have auto GOOGLE AI Image enchancher which you cannot turn off.

Definitely disagree, if you crop and see more detail make no sense for 99% of people , when we see the overall picture how we publish that's how we should see it, many times Samsung will look better,and i don't like Samsung by the way never had one, but the photos are awesome, no one are gonna zoom out photo on instagram to see details, many times this comparison make no sense, that's why when people make blind camera comparisons, the majority of times, the "best" smarphone rarely wins.

I think the pixel has the best video of any android.. that dynamic range is so good but it has some noise problems..
Yeah, their video stabilization is still not as good as the one on samsung.

Let's be frank, the Pixel is better in photos and the S21 Fe in video.
On the other hand, what I find inadmissible is the photo processing of the Fe which has the same sensors and the same processor as the normal S21 so should logically have the same photo processing.
This kind of software restrictions from Samsung is really annoying and sometimes makes it clear why Apple is always ahead when it comes to profits.
No the sensors are different the s21 has a 64+12+12 on the other hand s21 Fe has 12+12+8
You're wrong about the s21 ultra and s21 fe having the same hardware.... they don't. They have the exact same image processing with different hardware.

Why would u turn off scene optimizer? It's like u don't use al 3 cameras or I don't know. Computing photography is the future and I don't think there is a single person out there who turns that off, especially regular users.

Samsung's background blur is objectively worse, the handrail at 5:10 shows no progressively intensified blur based on distance.
unpopular opinion: i sometimes hate the natural bokeh of larger sensors
Well, the pixel is cheaper and takes slightly better pics..so no question it's the better deal.
Check the Bugs, camera viewfinder probelm, glass , camera and screen shattering issues...
Technically the Pixel is better, but is a rendering that looks too digital to me,, like if it had Lightroom sliders to the extreme. The Samsung is not more natural, but looks less processed to my personal tastes and probably easier to edit if one wishes so.

5:22 the issue with all samsung cameras which i dont like.
Complete loss of details as soon as the lighting is not perfect.
Thats why i prefer the pixel 6 pro over the s21 ultra too.

I agree with your accurate assessment; the Pixel 6 is more detailed, more consistent with its cameras overall. It's the better camera phone choice. It's not the best but it bests the S21 FE.
The audio of the Pixel 6 is also nicer, fuller, pleasant.
* The two new Pixel 6 phones were recently updated with fixes for bugs experienced by several owners. That helps the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro to be relevant again.
I'm not a fan of Google, but the photos are nicer. And the phone costs less.
* It was cool that you spotted that mistake made from the Pixel 6 on that parkometer shot.

Why did you turn the optimizer off?? I don't know anyone that uses a Samsung that turns off the optimizer. The Google phone does it automatically.. so it's not fair the Google phone has its background photo optimizer on but Samsung's is off!!
