I really like the app Drops for learning new vocabulary. I used it for free for a couple of years when I was living in Japan, but decided to buy the lifetime subscription during a sale. Definitely good for learning vocabulary by category, which I find makes them easier to remember and use. I teach primary and middle school Japanese nowadays which has honestly helped me the most in my learning.
Thank you for sharing such a helpful video, I've been going on the journey to learn new language and I really love Japanese. I will try applying your methods and hope that I can know basic japanese when I come back here after months.

I bought a 'Japanese From Zero!' textbook and it's really nicely made in all, but it costed 30 dollars. You can buy them if you want to, but this person's method is much better for those who don't have the money to spend or the time to mindlessly read a textbook. I can get boring.
I think Japanese from Zero is awesome & definitely worth it. Would definitely love to buy textbooks as well but for me it would really be nice to learn basic lessons for free as much as possible if on a budget. I would invest probably when I’m already reviewing for N2 level. がんばりましょう! (◍•ᴗ•◍)

this so motivating and inspiring content 😍. it really is great😁 , i kinda absorbing hiragana for now . kinda confuse and dakuten😵💫 . how do you remember dakuten ? any tips. new subscriber po dito.
こんにちはジェイソンさん。Thanks for supporting my channel! Glad that you like this video. (*ˊᗜˋ*)/ᵗᑋᵃᐢᵏ ᵞᵒᵘ♡✧*。 As for learning hiragana, focus first on learning the characters without the dakuten. Once you’ve mastered them, you’ll eventually find learning the ones with dakuten a lot easier. I recommend studying it per row. They usually go with the one with almost the same pronunciation, k/g, s/z*, t/d*, h/b/p. *(except for i-line for s-row which becomes ji, and for i & u line for t-row which becomes ji & zu.) As for ji & zu, the ones I’ve encountered for N5 vocabulary are mostly, if not all, from s-row hiragana. Another tip for remembering the dakuten is to start learning core vocabulary words. It would be helpful if you can remember some core words with dakuten like がんばってください。 Lastly, it is important to take note that repetition, constant exposure and consistency are the keys to mastery. You’ll be able to master hiragana and katakana faster if you study and practice daily. (◍•ᴗ•◍) Hope this helps! Good luck in learning Japanese! がんばってね!(。-ᴗ•)✧
こんにちは。I suggest learning it per row. Start first with the vowels あ い う え お (a i u e o). I recommend associating the characters with images like this Hiragana video from JapanesePod101: ruclips.net/video/6p9Il_j0zjc/видео.html Once you’re already familiar with the vowel row, you can proceed with the next row (K-row) か き く け こ (ka ki ku ke ko), then the S-row and so on. Then as for the ones with dakuten and handakuten, I suggest learning it once you’re already familiar with all the basic characters. Then last would be the ones in い-line (きしちにひみり) combined with the や ゆ よ (ya yu yo), example: きゃ. As for the special character combination like ふぁ, you can learn it later along the way once you’ve already mastered the basic character combinations. Hope this helps. (◍•ᴗ•◍) P.S. Daily practice & consistency is the key to mastering Hiragana faster. がんばってください! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚
i couldn’t believe that i can memorized hiragana in 3 days, and memorized katakana in 12-24 hours.. (i know i can memorize hiragana in 12-24 hours too if i try harder hehe) japanese is so fun! now i need to focus on the grammar and the vocab.. is there any advice when to start memorize kanji? ありがとうミエジエさん
すごい!You learnedひらがな and カタカナ really fast. That’s a great way to start! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑) As for Kanji, I’m now learning Kanji as I learn vocabulary words but when I was just starting to learn Japanese, I would set aside time for learning Kanji alone. My initial goal is just to be able to recognize the Kanji characters. For instance, my first goal is to be able to recognize that 火 means fire and 水 means water. I don’t immediately focus on learning the on-reading & kun-reading. I only start to learn the readings after I’ve become acquainted with all the basic Kanji characters. You can start learning Kanji anytime you want. My suggestion is to learn only 5-10 Kanji per day to avoid being overwhelmed. がんばってください!ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚
こんにちは。It would take a lot of handwriting practice specially for the Kanji characters. When I was just starting to learn how to write hiragana and katakana, it really looked like it’s written by a child. As for Kanji, knowing the stroke order helps in writing the characters better. You can also check this RUclips channel: Japanese Calligrapher Takumi If you’re starting to learn how to write hiragana, you can watch this video: ruclips.net/video/wD3FJgij79c/видео.html がんばってください。(◍•ᴗ•◍)
すごい! You’re a fast learner! ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧ I agree with you. Learning Japanese as a beginner is quite overwhelming and confusing when there’s just lots of resources available. I suggest you select just one or two resources first and try to stick with it if it works for you. What really worked for me is learning vocabulary and grammar at the same time through the LingoDeer app. (Not sponsored.) (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑) If you prefer to study using textbooks instead of using apps, you can try learning 1 chapter of Minna no Nihongo I per day so it won’t be too overwhelming. (I prefer Minna no Nihongo over Genki I.) There are also free resources here in RUclips teaching Minna no Nihongo I and Genki I that you can check. Hope this helps. がんばってください! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚
そうですね。 It’s really unfortunate that the Japanese app is only available for older versions of Android. I didn’t know that when I created this video. 😅 You can try the Takoboto app. I haven’t tried using this app though but I think it’s a great app. The app that I’ve used before was Obenkyo. I have only used it for learning Kanji but you can also learn vocab & grammar in this app. I’ll do my research for apps available in Android and I’ll let you know once my new video is up. (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
I'm an adult and I have a job. Cartoons really aren't something I have time for nowadays. Can someone recommend a resource/community that isn't full of cartoon fans? And before some joker comes out with it; no I don't have time for video games & comics either.
こんにちは。 I think it depends on your purpose for learning Japanese and what your interests are. If your goal is to pass the JLPT N5, I would suggest learning Genki I or Minna no Nihongo I. There are free resources here on RUclips. These are the ones that I know: ruclips.net/video/GaQBL4XHuSo/видео.html ruclips.net/video/wDpsF90DoeI/видео.html I have not yet gone through all their videos but I believe their videos are helpful. Let me know if you’re preparing for higher levels of JLPT so I can share relevant links for N4, N3 or N2. On the other hand, if your goal is to learn Japanese so you can have basic conversations, you can try italki, HelloTalk or JapanesePod101/Innovative Language Learning. For learning basic grammar, I would recommend Easy Japanese by NHK World-Japan. I have also come across Japanese for Busy People (Kana version). I think this book is a great resource for learning Japanese if you have limited time. I have not yet tried joining a language community for Japanese other than attending one online meeting with Japan Foundation Manila. I’ll let you know once I have found a good one. Hope this helps. がんばってください。 (◍•ᴗ•◍)
it’s so bad I’ve been on and off trying to learn Japanese for about 5 or 6 years now though now I think I’m actually taking it more seriously as I’m in a class that teaches Japanese now I could’ve been decent if I actually was consistent all those years yk but yeah

こんにちは。 There are some anime in Netflix that have Japanese subtitles available, I just changed it in the subtitle options. I’ve also tried using a Google Chrome extension before that you may want to try for shows that doesn’t have Japanese subtitles available but the one that I’ve used before shows both Japanese & English (your preferred native language) at the same time so I don’t really recommend it, but maybe there are other better extensions that you can find. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
こんにちは。 Sorry for my late reply. If you prefer learning Japanese using textbooks I would recommend “Minna no Nihongo” for learning vocabulary & grammar and “Kanji Look and Learn” for learning kanji. As for JLPT Mock tests, I would recommend using online resources instead like the JLPT Official Practice Workbook (www.jlpt.jp/e/samples/sampleindex.html) and apps like Easy Japanese (Todai) and/or Migii. Hope this helps. がんばってください! ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧
こんにちは。 I use Netflix to watch anime. In this video, I also used the LLN (Language Learning with Netflix) Chrome Extension. LLN can also be used with RUclips videos. (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)

Where is the sound??, we don't have all day long to read videos. Videos are made to watch and be able to do something else, especially when you have a toddler next to you!
I’m so sorry to hear that. My inspiration for creating this video was also a silent vlog with only subtitles and no voice over. I’m planning to upload an updated version with voice over, hopefully I could upload it next month.
I really like the silent vlog. I thought it was so calming and lovely. Whatever you decide to do it will be great because you are a good teacher. Thank you for uploading this video it helped me so much. I memorized almost the whole Hiragana today.
That’s interesting. Most beginners are having a hard time learning カタカナ but you did it in 2 days. すごい! I’m sure you’ll get used to ひらがな soon. がんばってください! ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧

*(except for i-line for s-row which becomes ji, and for i & u line for t-row which becomes ji & zu.)
As for ji & zu, the ones I’ve encountered for N5 vocabulary are mostly, if not all, from s-row hiragana.
Another tip for remembering the dakuten is to start learning core vocabulary words. It would be helpful if you can remember some core words with dakuten like がんばってください。
Lastly, it is important to take note that repetition, constant exposure and consistency are the keys to mastery. You’ll be able to master hiragana and katakana faster if you study and practice daily. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Hope this helps! Good luck in learning Japanese! がんばってね!(。-ᴗ•)✧

For anyone who didnt study english .. katakana could be harder than kanji especially n4 n5 level
Do you have tips for learning hiragana ?
こんにちは。I suggest learning it per row. Start first with the vowels あ い う え お (a i u e o). I recommend associating the characters with images like this Hiragana video from JapanesePod101: ruclips.net/video/6p9Il_j0zjc/видео.html
Once you’re already familiar with the vowel row, you can proceed with the next row (K-row) か き く け こ (ka ki ku ke ko), then the S-row and so on.
P.S. Daily practice & consistency is the key to mastering Hiragana faster. がんばってください! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚

Believe it or not, I’m not really interested in anime. But I’ll try to watch some.
i couldn’t believe that i can memorized hiragana in 3 days, and memorized katakana in 12-24 hours.. (i know i can memorize hiragana in 12-24 hours too if i try harder hehe)
japanese is so fun! now i need to focus on the grammar and the vocab..
is there any advice when to start memorize kanji? ありがとうミエジエさん
すごい!You learnedひらがな and カタカナ really fast. That’s a great way to start! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
As for Kanji, I’m now learning Kanji as I learn vocabulary words but when I was just starting to learn Japanese, I would set aside time for learning Kanji alone.
My suggestion is to learn only 5-10 Kanji per day to avoid being overwhelmed.

how am i able to make my handwriting look more native ? rather than having it look like i just copied it of a textbook
こんにちは。It would take a lot of handwriting practice specially for the Kanji characters. When I was just starting to learn how to write hiragana and katakana, it really looked like it’s written by a child. As for Kanji, knowing the stroke order helps in writing the characters better.

Missing ワクワク :P
haha 😆
would definitely include that in my next videos! 😊😄
I learned the hiragana and katakana in just 3 days but the problem now is what will I be studying next, ityso overwhelming and confusing lol
すごい! You’re a fast learner! ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧
I agree with you. Learning Japanese as a beginner is quite overwhelming and confusing when there’s just lots of resources available. I suggest you select just one or two resources first and try to stick with it if it works for you. What really worked for me is learning vocabulary and grammar at the same time through the LingoDeer app. (Not sponsored.) (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
If you prefer to study using textbooks instead of using apps, you can try learning 1 chapter of Minna no Nihongo I per day so it won’t be too overwhelming. (I prefer Minna no Nihongo over Genki I.) There are also free resources here in RUclips teaching Minna no Nihongo I and Genki I that you can check.
Hope this helps. がんばってください!

*Japanese* app isn't available on my Android phone. I guess that was such a great app.
Can you please recommend me a good one like that ?
そうですね。 It’s really unfortunate that the Japanese app is only available for older versions of Android. I didn’t know that when I created this video. 😅
You can try the Takoboto app. I haven’t tried using this app though but I think it’s a great app. The app that I’ve used before was Obenkyo. I have only used it for learning Kanji but you can also learn vocab & grammar in this app.
I’ll do my research for apps available in Android and I’ll let you know once my new video is up. (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)

Can you please give the link of the apps because I can't find it
Which website do you use to watch anime with japanese subtitles?
Hi Vanshika! I watch anime in Netflix. Some anime have Japanese subtitles available. 😊
These are the ones that I know:
ruclips.net/video/GaQBL4XHuSo/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/wDpsF90DoeI/видео.html
I have not yet gone through all their videos but I believe their videos are helpful.
What type of ballpen did you use to write kanji? Please give some recommendations and where to buy it. Thanks
こんにちは。 I’m using Daiso Brush Pen Fine. Sometimes I use a mechanical pencil to practice writing kanji.
Japanese Calligrapher Takumi uses Zebra Sarasa Clip 1.0mm

How did you get Japanese subtitles in your shows?
こんにちは。 There are some anime in Netflix that have Japanese subtitles available, I just changed it in the subtitle options.
I’ve also tried using a Google Chrome extension before that you may want to try for shows that doesn’t have Japanese subtitles available but the one that I’ve used before shows both Japanese & English (your preferred native language) at the same time so I don’t really recommend it, but maybe there are other better extensions that you can find. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Could you pls put the link of Apps in discription I can't find it on playstore
any book u recommend for japanese self study ? :)
