"How can you justify destroying a $7 million dollar mini mall to rescue a girl whose ransom was only $25,000 dollars?"
"Fuck you, lady!"
lol
Yep best part lol
Love that part!! 😂❤
"I'd get citations up the ass" is one of the greatest pieces of foreshadowing i think I've ever heard...
nothing new going on today.
Simon Phoenix is an outstanding VILLAIN and one of Snipes's best roles!!
He honestly stole the show. To me this was an equal costarring roles between those two. Snipes is SO underrated. I love his comedic delivery in this one. Olé!
In Blade he is like a ninja Batman and here he is like the Joker. Love Snipes in those roles.
@@jeanine6328 ole! agreed
I love how Sandra's character almost got the phrases right but was off by a little, that's always a riot.
You got to see Passenger 57 with Wesley Snipes good movie
"You really licked his ass" just kills me every time.
I love how you were digging the society at first, then how the true horror of it slowly dawned on you.
🤣
Good request love this movie watched this in the theater back in the day. Westley Snipes rocks in this movie. One of my favorite movie villains. Also if you like these characters you should watch virtuosity with Denzel Washington and Russel Crow.
This movie has so much relevance to what we are and have turned into today….it was ahead of its time in that aspect and still doesn’t get the credit for calling it….and this future is not far from becoming a reality
yep, exactly!
You mean like alex jones talked aboutwar with russia in februarysobce long
Hell I got the DVD and been thinking the same 💩 about the last couple years
We've already begun to see these doctrines rejected. The pendulum is going to swing hard in the other direction and it's going to be glorious.
@@23ograin53 i know they don’t get that point lol….even rippa59 said it….y’all are building up against people who are trying to be fair to them and there not caring about fair or logic…there just trying to beat one side down so relentless rn….that when that pendulum swings back its gonna seem like were back in the stone age knocking people over the head and taking what we want instead of asking so……
Wesley Snipes also shines in the Blade trilogy. Before this, Sylvester Stallone also starred in cult classics such as Tango and Cash and Cliffhanger. Jurassic Park and the Arnold Schwarzenegger led action/comedy Last Action Hero. I believe Snowpiercer is the film you're thinking of
My brother was an extra on Tango & Cash, though he mostly ended up on the cutting room floor. He was a prison guard.
Cliffhanger and Last Action Hero are not cult classics but full fledged action blockbusters from the 90's.
@@lightforce4604Last Action Hero was positioned, and budgeted as an action blockbuster, but it tanked and is definitely a cult classic now. It tried & failed to do much of what Demolition Man succeeded at.
If you can figure out the three sea shells, then you are a certified genius. 😄
You actually take 2 of the seashells & hold them apart as you relieve yourself & then close the seashells then dispose of them in the toilet….as far as the 3rd seashell, you use that one to wipe/scoop your butt & then dispose of that one in the toilet as well……I know it sounds complicated but there you go lol
They're just buttons. Flush, rinse and dry.
@@gizzodadon4038 If only it were that simple. Lol. 😁
I still don't get it
They literally just wanted something vaguely futuristic and confusing for the bathroom. The writer/director found a bag of seashells in the bathroom his wife bought. People and the cast have since joked and theorized on how to use them.
This was such a fun time in the theater. The audience laughed at all the touches of humor in the film. A complete blast from start to finish. They don't make them like this anymore.
They literally do make them this, and then some. Comedy, drama, action, suspense...all made today. Perhaps not with a 90s sense of humor because, well, that is how time works. Every year, every possible type of movie is made.
Amazin'!
I disagree. No they do not make action movies like this anymore. Now at days there is too much use of CGI when it's not even necessary. Plus, when this movie came out it was the great generation of movie stars. Much like how SNL went down in quality into the 2000's, in my opinion, so did the quality of talent. In front of and behind the camera. To me, older movies are just way better. Maybe I'm biased, but so is everyone else, whether they admit it or not.
@@orlandoruizjr3834 Too many films rely on CGI, have to agree with you there. There are movies today on every subject one could possibly imagine, some good, some bad. That was all I was saying. I have heard the line 'that couldn't be made today' about films made today. Everyone tends to be partial to the movies of their youth, it is natural. I enjoyed this film. Have a good one. Peace.
@@marsfalcon1949 the only movie that lately hit the bar for me in this regard, was the new Shaft movie.. that was great..
or Deadpool.. i hate PC pg13 no blood, no graphic deaths, no cursing, no nudity... everything is sanitized to get the most possible amount of people to go and see the movie.. its all about profits... in the 90's you culs have all in one movie, now there are specific exception the rule movies like Deadpool but they are not made for all ages.. back in the day more movies where made like this, now it's everything Disney-fide... to make more money, and save teens soul from cursing and nipples..
@@mrdot1126 See, you are exactly what I called out earlier. "PC pg-13"? It is PG 13, jeebus. You can watch cannibal movies, incest movies, rape movies, watch a Tarantino and get all the racial slurs you crave...there is NO movie type that is not made today. "PC", you folk are hilariously out of touch, it makes me wonder if even you know what you really mean when you type words. Take care out there, best of luck.
10:37 - You didn't show it, but one of the funnier lines Simon says is when the cops pull up immediately and he very casually says, "F**kers are fast, too" before getting another fine from the computer. You can't help but laugh.
This is such a fun, goofy movie. I’m interested to see what you think of it. My guess is you’ll laugh a lot at how ‘90’s’ it is. We laughed at it in the 90’s as well🤣
The crazy part about Taco Bell and this movie was they had a tie in for the film. There were Demolition Man Taco Bell commercials on TV I remember seeing. That's unheard of, any fast food chain having merchandise or a tie in to an R-Rated action movie. To put it into perspective, the last time anything close to that happened was when McDonalds had a happy meal based on Batman Returns, the one where Tim Burton was cut loose on and was at his Tim Burtonist, HARD PG-13. It literally made the studio go in the opposite direction for the next 2 Batman movies, going super kid friendly and campy. Funny you mentioned the Batman and Joker vibe from this movie, even when I was little and saw this, it felt like a slightly more violent Batman vs the Joker story. Also the score from the movie was done by Elliot Goldsmith who went on the score the Batman Returns/Batman and Robin movie's, so it sounds like a 90's era Batman flick too
McDonald's wasn't happy either. It makes me want to puke having corporate garbage dictate director/writers vision.
@@HonkeyKong54 Yep, the last 2 Batman movies of that era were made exclusively to sell action figures
@68K I remember that(Sweden)
We used to think this was just a goofy action comedy. Little did we know it was largely prophetic.
Predictive programming.
Wesley Snipes was a beast back in the day. You should watch him in Passenger 57. It's the same style of movie.
This movie came out before “Miss Congeniality”. In fact, this was Sandra Bullock’s first high profile movie role. She got the part at the last minute when another actress left the project and had to work up the character in just a couple of days.
Another similar recommendation would be “Judge Dredd”. Came out not long after this and starred Stallone and Rob Schneider (the receptionist at police headquarters). They make a pretty good comic duo, even though the story is set in another post-apocalyptic world.
I think my favorite Rob Schneider movie is Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo.
Judge Dredd is great.
Judge Dredd is dire. PLEASE don't watch it for god's sake.
The first actress was Lori Petty and she was fired when she showed up on set with her hair cut.Joel Silver(The producer)cursed her out and fired her.The story got out because all the crew heard it.
@@thedragonlee76 So did they film stuff so the new haircut would just be like some kinda incontinuity?
I’m glad you’re watching this treasure of a movie. One of my favorites movies of all time.
Hope you don't think this is silly but you actually remind me of Sandra Bullock in this movie. Similar haircut, similar facial features and even the way you jump up and down at 17:08 is similar to the way Sandra's character does at 19:32.
I was going to say the same thing!
Hi, just a suggestion: "Falling Down," starring Michael Douglas, 1993.
I loved this movie long before it became the cult classic it is now. I remember owning a copy on VHS that I got from Columbia House, so that should say just how far back I go with this movie. It's so much fun, it has lots of self referential humor satirizing the action movie genre with some social commentary and homages to dystopian fiction mixed in (the film borrows elements and themes from Aldous Huxley's Victorian Era dystopian novel A Brave New World). And Wesley Snipes is clearly having the most fun ever playing Simon Phoenix.
And to this day, no one has figured out how the three seashells work, though the internet has developed numerous theories.
Did you ever send Columbia House that penny?
@@jeffk.9075 I'm pretty sure I did. 😄
had it on vhs from recording it on vhs haha. wore that shit out. had to to turn the wheels to retrack it
Fun fact: while in the United States Taco Bell sponsored the movie, in the versions of the movie shown in Asia Pizza Hut was the last restaurant left. I've always wondered how that contract worked.
I think this was the first and only time a fast food chain sponsored an R-Rated movie. I remember when this movie released, at the time they had Taco Bell commercials on TV tying in with Demolition Man, that's crazy.
In Germany it was Pizza Hut, too.
They are owned by the same parent corporation. Along with KFC - which seems like a missed opportunity considering that Phoenix 🤔 makes 2 fried chicken 🍗 quips....
taco bell isn't as big outside of the US
I don't remember the french version but Taco Bell doesn't exist here.
You should check out Wesley in 'Blade'. Marvel's early box office hit.
The main villain that Simon worked for also did a great job at being serious and believable. He seemed like he really wanted to accomplish what he wanted to accomplish, and not just goofing around like some of the other characters. Also the story progression made sense, and was understandable, which helped the scenes flow well. It was an adventurous, funny, futuristic sci-fi film. A lot of fun. Great reaction.
Wow! You've quickly become one of my favorite reactors with this video.
Please continue the channel and never stop being completely you; you are destined to blow up ;).
I didn't see this in the theater. Bought it at video store that sold previously rented VHS tapes for cheap in the late 90s. Very entertaining. Stallone and Snipes were both brilliant
I fell in love with Sandra Bullock with this movie.
Any woman who enjoys demolition man this much is gonna make someone a great partner. You have an older sister? 😉
This was, no joke, my favorite movie as a kid. I love Wesley Snipes in this movie!
This is the way the world will be if Pollical Correctness continues to go on.
I love that this movie is getting affection and recognition from the reactor community. So much fun! One of the best villain kills ever. For the record, I think the three sea shells are simply bidet controls: soap, rinse, & dry.
What’s really funny is that every once in a while you run across a restaurant bathroom that has the three seashells on a little ledge next to the toilet paper. There’s a Cheesecake Factory in my area that has them.
@@TheLisa-Al-Gaib Yeah walked in to a restaurant that had them and it cracked me up.
Damn - after all these years I never thought of that, being buttons rather than physical objects!
@@TheLisa-Al-Gaib They also put the three seashells into Cyberpunk 2077.
A great action comedy the 90's are famous for. Deep sci-fi cuts, unexplained future worldbuilding, and a stacked cast.
Wesley Snipes! Hilarious and badass. To see another side of his talent - To Wong Foo
For Stallone at his funniest - Oscar
Wait, so this IS a action/comedy?
Because on the box it just says action.
(Spartan and 🐦🔥 Phoenix stares and face to face with each other)
John Spartan:
Is it cold 🥶 in here or is it just me?
Simon 🐦🔥 Phoenix: Good 👍 memory.
(Spartan vs. Phoenix 🐦🔥 fight to the death ☠️)
Wesley plays one of my favorite movie villains in this
Yesss! He’s so good!
Of all the things this movie predicted... the Morality Laws.. aka Cancel Culture.. is the scariest and the most spot on.
Another Beautiful black woman, Your the 3rd that do reaction movie's, You know the other two I guess, I Subscribed for sure, I have not slept for two night' with crazy Putin & a 3rd world war is on the brink, From a English creative artist, I shall watch your mix, If i keep away from the new's, It's alway's men who start war's take care.
Assassins (1995) Sylvester Stallone Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore action crime thriller rated R
Did anyone mention the Jack Black cameo in the underground city during the Rat Burger scene?
Omg I thought that was him! Haha
Murder at 1600 (1997) Diane Lane Wesley Snipes action thriller rated R is one of my favorite
I know a good one that u will like Point of No Return (1993) Bridget Fonda Gabriel Byrne director John Badham
They actually had to tell Wesley Snipes to slow down his kicks cause the camera wasn't capturing the fights right...would have been funny after learning about getting fined for swearing you had the buzzer go off everytime you swore in your reaction
The best part of this movie is, without a doubt, the “wrong number”.
Basketball player Dennis Rodman started dying his hair all the crazy colors after this movie came out.
When this movie came out, Taco Bell had the Demolition Man meal, which basically was a combo meal with a free Demolition Man poster. I had that poster hanging on my wall all through High School and College lol
That part where a driver has to say "auto inflate" before the tire reinflates is silly. If there is enough computing power to detect a flat tire and to inflate it, the system would do it automatically as soon as it detects loss of pressure.
damn straight.
Maybe it's just viewed as not polite for the car to do things without asking.
@@CruelestChris Oh yeah, you probably need to sign consent forms in triplicate, and have them notarized before car has the right to inflate tires. Otherwise it's literally rape.
@@raifthemad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great film that's both amazing satire and has depth. Though there's a weird group who are only drawn to it because of how it critiques political correctness even though it satirized both extremes with Pheonix representing the evils of chaos and Coctau representingthe evils of order.
Spartan is the representative of adaptation and compromise as well as being our pov character to introduce us to the new world.
In Europe, Taco Bell wasn’t as well known at the time so they changed it to all restaurants are Pizza Hut.
The sad thing is John says he was awake the entire time and saw things like "You wife beating on the block of ice that used to be her husband". So yeah, you'd be trapped in a block for decades.
Simon Phoenix is one of the greatest villains of all time. Wesley Snipes rules.
"How about a little target practice what do you say ?" No noooo I'm done 😂😂😂
Welcome to BIDEN's America!
I forgot the warden from Shawshank Redemption was in this.
This movie made Sandra a superstar. She was on her way to bigger and better things after this movie!
I saw enough, I think ur so kool 🍒♈️
The big issue with this premise and others like it is that prison labor is a massive industry in the US. Frozen inmates can't work.
We have 2.1 million people behind bars right now so the US is spending $5.21 Billion to $105 Billion a year to house prisoners.
I can guarantee you they are not providing that kind of revenue by working while in prison.
Prison labor is mostly used to offset the costs of operating the prison.
You cut out feeding them, providing medical care, water usage, damage to personal and the facility it's a lot more efficient and cheaper.
Not that you can freeze cells without the water in them bursting the cell structure.
@@douglascampbell9809 approximately 60% of prisoners in the US work, so that's 1.26M slaves. In order to defray the prison industry's 105B budget, each person would need to generate $833 worth of goods or services in a year. I'm guessing that happens several times per week. Because it's not about the actual revenue prison labor generates, it's about the value of the work done.
13th!!
They indeed predicted the curse censorship: try to say bad words on Insta, face or even here to see what happens. lol
You missed the foreshadowing at the beginning when Simon phoenix said he'd lose his head if it wasn't screwed on and spartan said I'll bear that in mind and in the end he loses head lol
Nice review!
This is no movie, but a prophecy about society. And 30 years ago, we didn't think anything like this could ever happen in reality... and here we are.
You should do Blade. ;)
good ol´ times where movies where just to entertain the audience.
Lol "Alexa how do I subdue a suspect" 😅😅🤣😂😹
Still have 0 idea about the 3 seashells lol and this is one of my top 10 favorite movies
lol she doesn't know how to use the three seashells. :D
This movie is great. Btw I highly recommend checking Falling Down, it is a really underappreciated movie and not everyone gets it, but it is really well done.
My favorite part of the movie? Easy. I'm a gearhead and a HUGE classic muscle car fan so, obviously, my favorite part is the three seashells. ;-)
Haha definitely a fan favorite moment! 😛
Simon says: Use 3 Sea shells when u having a 🦀 and save the environment.
An awesome movie with a big middlefinger to the upcomming PC movement in Hollywood.
so sorry seeing gay people and nonwhite people in movies makes you uncomfortable, snowflake.
Thank you for reacting to this. One of my favorites!
There is a diagram that basically explains how the three seashell thing could work. It doesn't take diarrhea into account though and if every restaurant is Taco Bell...
It’s also a vegan society
Ooow man i soo enjoyed watching you enjoy one of my most favorite action movies!! 😸
I know back in that time it was pretty hard action! And Sly was at his best around this time.
Luv cyberpunky movies, but this one is a colorfull one :D idk if youve see the Fifth Element?! ✨
The Joker actually was an inspiration for Wesley Snipes' character.
Simon Phoenix is the coolest villain ever
Its all about the Connection. 💯😉🥰
That wasn't post-apocalyptic that was 90's LA
Yes!!!!!!!! I've been begging reaction channels to watch this movie but no one ever backs me up. It's such a fun movie!!
I love this film. Over here in the UK the Taco Bell reference was replaced with Pizza Hut because us Brits had never heard of Taco Bell before.
I'm pretty sure housing a bunch of ice cubes is less expensive than having to feed and house people on a daily basis for decades. And I assume the same people that are paying for that are the same that are paying now. Taxes.
Wesley snipes is having the time of his life in this movie.
"I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached." Proceeds to get his head kicked off lol
Awesome Movie and Work Lady, Thanks!!👍👍😎 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
If you haven't seen it, I recommend Speed from 1994, also with Sandra Bullock. It's similarly a lot of fun and one that I think that you'll enjoy.
Edit: Oh, never mind. I see now that you recently watched it and uploaded a very short clip from your reaction, just not the reaction, itself. Hopefully, you're not having issues with it being blocked.
It's great to see you having so much fun throughout this reaction! ❤
I think I was in fifth or sixth grade when this film came out. Don't remember if I saw it then, or a few years later. Probably the latter. I recall thinking it was fun, though I don't think I realised the finer nuances 😉
Stallone, Snipes and Bullock all gave stellar performances.
I never found out about the three sea-shells either, though admittedly, I was never that thorough in my research! 😂
And wow, what a future scenario being depicted here! I don't think it's necessarily realistic, but it is interesting to see this rather extreme vision of a possible future setting; I hope we do not develop in this particular direction in modern society 😁
Though it does make me wonder what skill I'd want to achieve, if I were to enter cryo?...not needlework like Spartan, I think...hmm, maybe I'd like to learn to play the saxophone, or something. 😄 what about you? 😀
Kinda crazy this movie is relevant.
No physical contact - Covid
No cursing - people’s feelings
No meat - global warming
Peaceful cops - defund the police
No guns - ban assault weapons
one of my favorite movies. loved it
Quite the lunatic Phoenix was...one of my favorite performances by Wesley. Loved your reaction!!
Con-Air next ..you will like it
Snipes totally stole this one.
That should be implemented...No it shouldn't, instead physiscal fitness and martial arts training should be demanded of police officers.
They are Democrat police officers, John Spartan is a Republican police officer. You need both.
Thanx U Thanx U Thanx U
Yo, here in Germany, it wasn't Taco Bell, but Pizza Hut (probably because in the 90's we didn't have Taco Bell (AND WE STILL DON'T IN THE FUCKING 2020s) and people wouldn't have known it))
@5:50. Have you read 1984? Because now you're describing a major element in the book. And one which is becoming true......as you say.
Such a joy to see you watch this Legendary Film. A bucket of MEMES.

This just happens to be one of my favorite movies. I've watched several people online react to this but you're the first one that included the line "my boggle" It's probably one of the funniest lines in movie cinema history in my opinion...lol, The fact that you included it in your reaction is very meaningful to me. So yes you have yourself a new subscriber! btw great reaction!
Just subscribed....If you want to watch a movie I'm sure you'll love try LA Story....you'll never view Steve Martin in the same light.
Dr. Cocteau is played by Sir Nigel Hawthorne (RIP) who played the Civil Servant Sir Humphrey in the TV series Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister. Worth a look.
equilibrium, in time
This movie also predicted Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming the governor... Before being president
agreed!...Wesley Snipes would have made a Great Fucking Joker!...at the time, at least!
Actually, cryostasis would be cheaper than conventional prisons. Think about it: The prisoners don't eat, don't drink, don't require daily exercise, don't need guards watching them 24/7... conventional prison costs an average of $33,000 per year per inmate. With more than a million inmates currently in prison, that works out to more than $40 billion per year. BUT... we haven't even come close to being able to freeze someone yet. See, when the water in the cells freezes, it forms ice crystals, which punctures cell walls. In other words, if you thaw them out, they'd die. First, we've got to figure out how to freeze (and thaw) someone without killing them.
