Good vid. Glad to see somebody helping out beginner pipe smokers. I've been doing it for a couple years and enjoy seeing the hobby grow and people producing good vids for guys who are just starting.
Just working through this series to see what I can learn. I didn’t know those unburned bits of tobacco are bad for the pipe...I have a brand new pipe that this happened to. Thanks, Bradley!
I just bash the pipe bowl against the palm of my hand to get the muck out. The odd bits of hot ember don’t bother me. And I aways dip my pipe cleaners in whiskey or rum.
Bradley, I recently acquired my first Peterson. It is a Silver Mounted Army 101. Today I had my first smoke through it (Peterson Old Dublin. Loved the review btw) After I came back inside I noticed some discoloration on the edge of the silver band nearest where the stem is inserted. Is this normal? I used a fine cloth to try and buff out the brown as best I could not wanting to use cleaners. Before I do anything else to try and restore it to it original out of the box beauty I humbly seek your guidance good Sir.
Congrats on the new pipe! It's possible that the silver is just a bit tarnished. Regardless of the cause of the discoloration, silver polish will almost certainly do the trick. I usually apply the polish (not much needed) to an old T-shirt then start rubbing away.
+Rick Bissell - I delve into that a little bit in this video: ruclips.net/video/ZqbAZ3YCRzU/видео.html - I'll do a deep clean maybe once or twice a year, depending on the pipe.
Hey guys! I m new to smoking tobacco pipes, and I d like to ask you, how many bowls per day can you smoke on a particular pipe, if you clean it each time after using it? Is there a limitation or something?
This is too anal for every smoke, I do this every 5-10 smoke. After each smoke, quick shake to remove wetness is enough. Do deep cleaning using sharp reamer and spirit alcohol after 20-30 smokes.

+Briar Fox - I'm glad you found the channel! I appreciate the vote of confidence as well.
Most practical video. Not sure I do saliva solvent part though.
Just got into pipe smoking, and this vid. was perfect, to understand the regular maintainance. Thanks!
What a beautiful beautiful pipe, the grains and the finish on the briar wood are gorgeous
+Ramez Qubain - Thanks! It's one of my favorites.
From Georgia, thank you
Very good series thank you

It was very helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your feelings and thoughts ... experiences ... greetings from New York
"Glaarrglelarggleaarrlle!" XD
Can you also use the pipecleaners they sell for little crafts? The ones they sell in hobbyshops in all those flashy colours?
lol that saliva thing sounds like a baby penguin eating a large fish

do you do this after every smoke or by the end of the day???
After every smoke!
Hey why don't take the stem off when the pipe is hot i do this and nothing happened ?

Is it possible not to use the pipe cleaner (string) at all?
What is the song at the ending? It sounds like the Beatles. I really enjoy it.
+Bryce McRae - Just a song I wrote in a band I used to be in. Thanks for watching!
Your welcome man. Love your vids.
Sorry that was funny ; very good videos on pipe tutorials
+Moe Jaime - I'm glad you're enjoying the series! I appreciate the comments too.
I found an old pipe that doesn't look like it's been cleaned, I can't tell if the dottle is burned in or not. If it is can the pipe be saved?
+Bryan Olson - Maybe. It might just need a good reaming.
Bradley, what is your procedure for deep cleaning a pipe and how often do you do it?

my pipe cleaners always leave a trace the outside fur on my pipe... should i try to find another brand, or is it just normal?
It's normal. I usually run them through my fingers before using to remove some of the fuzz.
thaaanks!!!! :) you are a great help!!!
Hey guys! I m new to smoking tobacco pipes, and I d like to ask you, how many bowls per day can you smoke on a particular pipe, if you clean it each time after using it? Is there a limitation or something?
Depends on the pipe. I would say two to three, but some pipes will get wet after just one bowl, and others will stay dry for several.
@@stuffandthingsyoutube thanks a lot! I appreciate the advice!
Would it be a good or bad idea to run some water through a pipe?
+Aaron Purtell - I wouldn't suggest it. Your objective should be to keep your pipe as dry as possible. Moisture is the enemy of a good smoke.
water is counterproductive as it would not be s good solvent. Grain alcohol like ever Lear is great.
Like washing and then hot-walking a horse after a hard ride. Makes sense.
lmao that voice crack
Deep cleaning video please
Barringer 84 - I'll try to do a video like that soon. Thanks for watching!
Your a joy to watch keep up the good work
Just use more saliva 😂
Huh uh huh huh uh. He said cork knocker!
