Hi Alisa.....hope all is well..... I know this is an older video, but just wanted to say that I still enjoy you after all these years. Don't change....thank you for everything you take time out to share with us 😊
I think handmade gifts are lovely and thoughtful. The alternative is no gift at all, which, if you look down your nose at something homemade, you deserve!
When you think about it, everything is handmade, either by production or by hand with our hands! Thank you for helping me to know that if I practice can I can do it! You are are so sweet and a wonderful inspiration.God Bless.
Thoughtful Creativity - CRAFT, SEW, DIY awesome. Can’t wait. I just finished watching this video and I’m sad to hear that some people don’t appreciate the thought work and heart that went into handmade. I personally love handmade. My son took a welding class in college at 12 yrs old. He welded a little person fishing for me. I cried so hard when he gave it to me. It meant sooo much to me. Nothing he could have bought me would have ever brought me joy like that. However, not everyone is the same. I tend to add something I have bought from a store as well. You could slip a gift card into these zippered bags and then it would please anyone I’m sure. I’m one of these people that love to do my Christmas making, shopping early. I never ever regret that I’m not stressed out , running around at the holiday season. I just simply enjoy the magical times of the season because I’m all done. But for sure, to each their own. See you tomorrow luv. 🙋🏼♀️😊🥰
I think people who make things themselves appreciate handmade gifts. We understand what goes into making the gifts. Like when you try to sell what you make and are disappointed with what others are willing to pay. Homemade is the best! 💚
Sherry, that is so very true! I do however have a few people in my life (that are not crafty) that are super excited and thrilled every single time I make something for them! Home made is the best :)
Landed on your home page and enjoyed your tutorial on sewing the fabric pouch! Also, sending my comment in on your question about giving/ receiving a “homemade gift”. I feel that a gift made by hand shows extra thoughtfulness and time spent by it’s maker and not everyone can appreciate this. Everyone creates or sews at different levels of talent. If it makes “you” feel good to “give” that special gift, wrap it up with a BIG bow and a smile! It will be great!
Lovely! I've been making slightly larger zipped bags and using them as gift bags.... the recipient gets the gift and the bag to reuse or pass on. Eco friendly and cute!
I have been enjoying your wonderful sewing videos. You have inspired me to see again! I have Found in my family that people love handmade gifts! So much time and love go into handmade gifts! Keep sewing love your channel
@@ThoughtfulCreativity its a beautiful country when weather is on our side. When it isn't the people of Ireland are amazing ( I am native french). And Galway is the best. Reach out if you come around one day ☘️
Just found ur channel... Wow awesome... The amount of enthusiasm you have for sewing is Infectious... Love all ur videos. I do value a hand made gift more than store bought ones.
My family loves getting homemade gifts. I always make sure I listen to conversations to get ideas during the year. I have a small notepad in my purse that I carry with me. I can write down ideas when I get them.
Ellen - that's great, I do something similar too! I have a running list of ideas, same like you - I listen to what my family wants/talks about! :) Great to hear from you, thank you!
I do love very much handmade gifts. I have done and gave some pouches as such u did it's so exciting for me to do those. But one thing I have not received one like that till now. Love u Alisa mam
I just made this but with a flat bottom. Beginner so lots of mistakes and wonky stitches (the tab was on the inside and I forgot to unzip the button 😭) but I am so proud of myself. My wrist hurt and it took forever but I made it! Really helpful. And I like useful, practical gifts, homemade or brought.
Just doing it is the best way to learn and become proficient, we all make mistakes when crafting. Just chalk it up to a learning experience and keep going.
I like getting homemade gifts as presents. Last year my older brother made gift baskets for everyone and filled them with things they would like. Mine was filled with two bottles of wine, crackers, and forest berry jam. I've only started making handmade gifts for the past few Christmases. I started out making only one or two gifts a year, but last year I was able to make gifts for almost everyone on my list. The only two exceptions were my younger brother and my just-turned-into-a-teenager nephew. My crafting space is in the family computer room, so 95% of the time my brother is there while I'm crafting and the nephew is, well, a teenager. I try to do other things for my brother, like getting him tickets to see bands he likes in concert.
Thankyou, I have always admired these bags when you were showing them last year 😁 Sewing though zips scares me. LoL. I mainly sew for myself. I made handmade gifts in the past for relies and didn't even get a thankyou or the look on there faces said it all. My mum is the only one that really loves my sewing gifts. 😀 So mostly I put all my creative energy into makes for me. 😁
Thank you, I love your videos, I want to try a lot of things thanks to you ^^ A hello from Belgium (oh and handmade gifts are great because you put your heart into them by making them ^^)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity yes! I was picturing that since you only did it once. Had a giggle about why only once! (My father taught media at uni. The cameras, studio + lighting, and the control room side.) Need a helmet to strap your camera too! 😉 Or some clever lever arm contraptions between you and the sewing machine, like an old boom, with the camera strapped to the end. Amazing what a stack of books can do! Sorry sounding like my father. Though today's journos around the world, aren't dealing with vibrating sewing machines on their tables!

Absolutely love your outtakes!!! Reminds me of ME! Thanks for all your lunchtime craft videos. Have enjoyed them all. While I was watching this one, I was trying to remember the episode where you talked about your sweater. Can you direct me to that?
The best gift is a homemade gift. When I give homemade gifts, that person was on my mind while I was making it. It really hurts my feelings to no see my gift used. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. Target should be ashamed of themselves for putting out a bag like that. I don't shop there, so that is one more reason not to.
Agata, hello there! I hope you and Alice are having lots of crafty time! Yes!!! Lady Gray is my second favorite tea - a little softer than Earl, but has a nice fruity finish. Mmmm! Love both of them! :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Thanks we do. Although today is Disney+day - poor pet had nightmares so we decided to bake sweet jam rolls and watch movies. I will be making some masks later today. Thanks for tutorials. How is working from home going ?
Hey Alisa, an idea I just thought of... 🤔🤔🤔? because you will be posting daily- to every few days... questions can be asked and answered within a few days, instead of monthly etc, by anyone.... Eg: I have to make a raincoat/trenchcoat for winter. (Its not stuffed:- this is western Australia, no snow here ever, or below 0° Celsius temps!) Just rain and hail! But I've never sewed with 'umbrella' fabric.... so does anyone know any resources online for me to read or watch before I touch this fabric! (But: I'm on pension, so can't afford to watch lessons you have to pay for online etc) So at end of your episode: you'd say "Simone wants to know blah blah blah and blah blah!" And if you get answers, you can say in coming episode: "Simone, Jennifer says to look here or here etc!" I say this idea because, I can't afford to spend HOURS AND HOURS online. And with the amount of stuff that's available nowadays online or RUclips etc, you HAVE to spend weeks, watching, trolling, through (wasting money) to find just several of the things you're REALLY looking for! Maybe under your sewing community, we could help each other out with that! I don't have kids, so could spend time watching millions of hours, but I don't have the money, just as parents don't have the time....so we all sort of end up in the same boat and can help each other! Maybe this way we can really help each other... After you've helped us first with the days episode!❤️😄

I think handmade gifts are lovely and thoughtful. The alternative is no gift at all, which, if you look down your nose at something homemade, you deserve!
