I would love a video on essential brushes. There seems to be so many options and I never know what is best for what kind of texture/product. It's overwhelming!
Great idea!! I love a condensed makeup bag. Every time i travel, I think, "I should live this way all the time!" And I'm working towards it 😅 have finished a lot of products this year.
I personally love using my bronzer as an eyeshadow for days when i don't really wanna go all out on my makeup but I still want some sort of colour!! I imagine even a blush would be nice
I have a minimal routine but none of the products featured in this video. So for the 50+ fair cool undertoned dry to medium skin girlies in Europe, this is my daily face "uniform" every day, workday or weekend : 1) cerave moisterizer spf 50. (affordable + dries down perfectly to apply make up over it and a perfect sealant for my serums) 2) concealer : Sisley Eye Concealer With Botanical Extracts color 1 (corector and concealer in one that does not need to be set as it will stay in place and not crease, one tube last me 1,5 years and I use it every day) 3) foundation + Brush : Lancome Teine Idole Ultra wear stick, color lys rose + Saie the big brush. (This foundation is so bang on with the color, I don't even need to drag it down to the neck, you can't see the difference. I pass the big brush a few times lightly over the stick and stamp the brush on to my face and finish with buffing it lightly. The finish is amazing on my 50+ mature skin. Not mat, not shiny, just a soft satin finish very skin like) 4) bronzer and blush in one + Brush : I use a lipstick from Lisa Eldridge, a light mauve beige color - Roma. Pass the Saie base brush a few times over the bullet and apply it around my imaginary sunglasses + middel of the upper lip + chin. It gives a subtle kiss of color in a beautifull satin finish. Again a cream product to not enhance dry skin and wrinkles. 5) one and done eye shadow : eye shadow stick laura mercier - color coffee for a smokey eye. (a mat dark color as to not highlight any crepy or wrinkly skin. I do put a light powder on the upper lid above the crease under my eyebrow to prevent transfer from lower lid to the lidspace above the crease) 6) lipstick : Lisa eldridge color De Medici or Clarins lip balm color fig. Both cool colored lipsticks, perfect for every day wear. 7) mascara : Smashbox Mascara Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara. The best mascara to lift those lashes and keep them there. Very difficult to come by in Belgium, so I stocked up. 8) Brow gel : Maybelline New York Super Lock Brow Glue clear Voila, greetings from Belgium
A nice option for makeup minimalism - Salt NY sneaky balm, color corrector if you have dark circles, and a blush in a good color for you (also good on lips). You put the pans in a little quad palette, so you have one space left for a future purchase. Finish up with a light powder to tame the shine (I like Wakemake Stay Fixer - a finely milled Korean translucent option, but the Wet & Wild is easy to get and surprisingly good) and something to define your eyes, probably mascara. A brow product if you feel you need one - I usually use vaseline, since my brows are fairly thick and also partly covered by my glasses.
I don’t wear foundation on a regular basis. I prefer to spot conceal these days. I enjoy the Dior Forever skin correct. I like that I can get a light concealer with an olive undertone. They give you quite a bit of it. Mine keeps going and going….
Amen to the HaruHaru Wonder!!! It’s the only sunscreen I have actually wanted to use everyday it’s my moisturizer sunscreen and primer 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 the new Westman concealer is exceptional … I was actually impressed and shocked lol I’ve never been able to use it under my eyes until I found it and these recently the Kosas Tower 28 and Tarte Creamy Creaseless are all great all over for “mature skin” lol flawless smoothing plumping WE is incredible and then the Natasha powder foundation on top was my summer go to
I’ve been trying to do this for short trips lately! Mine are- Concealer (kosas for sure!) Blush (right now for me it’s Rhode) Powder (a huge must imo. Huda Beauty and Laura Mercier are tied for me) Eyeliner + mascara (Stila liquid liner and Caliray’s mascara) Lip liner + lipstick (either a Mac or MUFE liner with my Lancôme lipstick) Technically that’s more than five, but it all fits into my tiny to-go makeup pouch! And I don’t use brushes with this routine, just a cushion/powder puff
I can just use my Lancome bronzer for blush and eyeshadow too … also another product I’ve never been able to wear before I found this shade in Fair and light is also the perfect eyeshadow shade with a shimmer … done! I love Dior Beige Mitzah!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 blends out beautifully!!! It’s the best!!!
The Dior Forever Skin concealer is my holy grail! It can totally work as a foundation and look natural. But lately I've been loving the Natasha Denona concealer too, they're both incredible
Since I go for a more "goth-y" every day look (and have oily skin) my 5 would be: Glossier stretch concealer, Rituel de Fille Colour Nectar Pigment Balm in Hornet (cool brown for lips, contour and eyes), Palladio clear brow gel, L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara, and Annabelle Perfect Setting Powder.
The HaruHaru is SO good!! My six are HaruHaru, PuritoBB, Milani tubing mascara, glossier swept bronzer, salt blush, and Anastasia brow with urban decay liner and a clear lip balm❤
@you’re not wrong! For my skin (olive but also red 🤡) it really works and doesn’t look that way. Everything else I try is just too… something- yellow or pink or orange. During the summer I put a drop of the glossier bronzer to warm it up a touch. I wish they had more shades so everyone could experience it in the way I do 😂
This is such a great idea! I can't go without my SPF anymore, it's been such a gamechanger for me and my skin! My six would be: SPF- Cancer Council sensitive sunscreen and moisturiser. It's not greasy, but it also works for my dry skin over top of moisturiser (others would be too thick, and to apply it, I'd just feel so oily and like I was pulling at my face to try and get it on). It's the only sunscreen I've liked, but it has to be the face moisturiser and sunscreen! Concealer- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (with the puff) isn't my favourite concealer, but it works so well as a foundation as well, or on days when I don't want to wear a lot of makeup. It conceals, it gives me coverage but it's still light. And most of all, it doesn't sting like some concealers do under my eyes on bad skin days. Blush - I've been using rare beauty recently, but my absolute favourite are the Australis Dewy and Daring blush sticks. They're wonderful, I love all of the colours, and they are so user friendly. I can just swipe straight on from the tube and blend with a blush or a beauty blender and I am good to go. Eyeshadow - If I'm not using my blush (especially Nars blush in orgasm), I'm using an Australis pallette with both glitter and mattes, or the Soph X Revolution pallette. I love just adding some glitter and moving on, but I also love that the palettes come with some matte colours as well! Big fan of colours, and it also doubles very nicely as eyeliner if there's darker shades as well. Mascara - Maybelline Lash Paradise used to be my favourite, but I recently retried Maybelline Sky High after not liking it, and I will admit I've fallen in love with it. I have cosmic black and burgundy and they make my lashes look so full. Lips - I'm very simple with lips. If it's not MAC lipstick in Twig, it's the burst bees lip balm in Vanilla. I love a thick lip balm, and now that I can't buy Hurraw anymore the Burts Bees Vanilla is just amazing.
For me lipstick is an essential! But lipstick can work as a blush too same way as cream blush. I think am going to try that tower28 mascara since it's also available in brown. I was the one asking for a minimal luxury make up kit this made me happy so thank you 🙏 Btw Lisa Eldridge is everything right? Have you reviewed already the skin tint? Or the kitten lash mascara? Wand looks similar to the tower28 one. How abt a full face of Lisa Eldridge beauty 👀💄✨
Great video Amanda! Amd so soothing. My essentials are similar to yours in terms of types of products and even specific ones. A moisturizing sunscreen (te kiss me mommy is great as well as the naturium glow spf 50), I’ve used the Dior forever concealer to use on the face for any redness or an occasional blemish for many years as it is the best olive toned line ever for my light olive skin (2Warm olive is quite light) and it has the perfect mix of yellow and green in it. The Armani lines have pretty nice ones also and I use both the one you showed and the power fabric one. No foundation for me generally. A blush for sure as it’s my fav product and I like to change the tones in the fall and summer by adding a liquid bronzer or terracotta tone into other colors and mix them. I love saie and rare beauty and creams like Patrick Ta, merit (fox and the red one are my favs), tower 28 red, rose inc foxglove, clear brow gel sometimes as I have full brows but I keep them shaped, a taupey or dark champagne satin shadow (love beige mitzah!), curled lashes - they are dark and full so sometimes no mascara but I love merit mascara for quick or Clio waterproof, and a tinted gloss or lip oil like Dior mahogany or Clinique black honey. That’s the routine if I have to put on my makeup and leave in 5 minutes. I just can’t seem to make myself take only this when I travel tho. I always take too much🤦🏻♀️
I think I would pick the Tower 28 concealer, Gimme Brow, Maybelline Full n Soft mascara, CP Flexitarian for eyes or highlighter, and Balm Desert for bronzer, eyes and blush.
What I carry in my purse is the merit stick, Kosas powder, brow gel, mascara, and tinted lip balm. This is mostly makeup I wear when I didn’t have time to do it at home. Which is always 😊
My top 6 Chanel CC cream Canmake cream blush RCMA Pressed Powder Clinique Touch Base for Eyes Opera Lip Tint Shiseido Majolica Majorca Lash Tint. Obviously sunscreen. I live in Louisiana i would perish without it.

My spf is called a moisturizing spf primer lol, so because I have oily skin if I have a hydrating primer I can use it as all three of those steps if I’m in a rush :) naked Sundays! Great product, decent price
I have half light and personally feel like it’s more neutral-cool than warm. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t last the whole the day on me. I don’t usually have that issue with other shadows. But it doesnt look bad as it fades away so that’s a plus. It’s not something I’ll put on in the morning unless I’ll be home by the afternoon. I haven’t heard anyone complain about the issue I have with it though, so maybe I’m doing something to affect the performance.
Thanks for the comparison between the Dior and RDF shadows! Does the Rituel de Fille have good lasting power? I love the color but I really struggle with getting products to last on my oily, hooded lids.
If you have oily lids, blotting them, then using an eye primer, can make a big difference. Using a cream shadow/stick, e.g. Victoria Beckham, Sydney Grace, Bobbi Brown, etc. can also give a powder product something to grab on to, or last longer on its own, for a one & done. You make just have to tap your crease out w/your finger if it gathers there during the day.
@ My current routine is blot, eye primer (currently Milani), setting powder then whatever I plan to use. I haven’t tried the VB sticks yet, but both the Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier crease on me. The thing that lasts the longest before creasing on me is Mac paint pots, but I’m looking for something new.
What shade was the Fwee blush please? I use and absolutely love the Danessa Myricks cream blush in Rosé and Brunch. It looks great on the lips as well. I also love love the Nudesticks eyeshadow sticks. They stay on all day!
On most days I only need 3 products for cosmetics: lash curler, (lip) balm to fixate the lashes + the most important product, lipstick. Always need some color to brighten up my face. A spooly for the brows and lipgloss are nice to have for everyday too. Concealer & powder I only use when I need my makeup to hold up, e.g. an event or to cover up pimples/scars. Blush, eyeshadow and mascara I use when I am in the mood to play and look a little glamourous, which is rare nowadays. :D
does the romand brow gel dry down all the way? an issue i’m having with a lot of brow gels is that they stay kind of gloopy on the brows and they don’t actually “freeze”
On an everyday basis I use the la colors brow pencil in soft brown, la colors clear lash bond mascara, and essence shine shine lip gloss (you can tell I’m on a budget) sometimes I will add blush from essence too
I also love 'pops of color' (like a mauve or an orange) one and done eyeshadows! It doesn't take a lot of work to add something playful to my look that way
Going to venture to guess that the Rituel de fille in half light is somewhat similar to chantecaille mermaid eye matte in Sylvie ? (Also feeling like the charlotte tilbury pop shot in Smokey quartz is similar to filthy rich from the new elf shadow when applied to the eye!?)
Im Going to pipe in here although I’m not Amanda. The ND is touted as a great concealer by many. I have dry skin and I’m in my 50s. So I use very minimal under eye concealer only in the inner corners and it has to be moisturizing. The tower 28 and kosas are my favs. The ND is much drier and thicker. So if that’s what you are looking for it would be wonderful, as it’s not super dry. But it’s not moisturizing at all. But it would be great for the face I think.
For those who ever using givenchy and girgio armani concelear, do they have the similar coverage? Im ran out my givenchy concealear and thinking about buy girgio armani or stay with givenchy?!
Does anyone have any idea how Merit Rouge compares to Finest Hour from Tower 28? Finest Hour the same red shade that came out with the Kung Fu Panda collab
It’s her job to show and review makeup so I can’t see how she would avoid the quantity of products…🤷🏼♀️Ultimately, it’s our job individually to decide what is important for us and choose based on the information we’re given. Everyone has different needs and wants. 😝
Same 😂😂😂 except the occasional random colour I suddenly want I always think this is the life! 😂😂😂
I personally love using my bronzer as an eyeshadow for days when i don't really wanna go all out on my makeup but I still want some sort of colour!! I imagine even a blush would be nice
The westman atelier is so good for this.

Hmmmm seems like a video idea...
LOVE this video. Wish you gave one lip recommendation. But I get it :)
my thought exactly!! i was sad when she didn’t share a lip recc but i understand the reasoning behind it 🥲💕

A perfect approach to enhancing natural beauty. Thank you for sharing ❤
I find that tinted fibre brow gels work fine for adding volume and colour. Elf wow brow is cheap and very effective!
This is a great video and I really appreciate the focus on fewer products.
My top 6
Chanel CC cream
Canmake cream blush
RCMA Pressed Powder
Clinique Touch Base for Eyes
Opera Lip Tint
Shiseido Majolica Majorca Lash Tint. Obviously sunscreen. I live in Louisiana i would perish without it.
This is such a great video for travel especially! It's so hard for me to resist bringing 10,000 things whenever I'm going ANYWHERE
Everything I bought based on your recommendations was perfect. Happy thanks for your nice work ❤
My essentials: chantacaille future skin foundation, kosas revealer concealer, westman atelier baby cheeks in chouchette, charlotte tilbury rock n kohl eye pencil, rare beauty lip oil
I got that Kosas concealer off your rec during the Sephora sale and I L-O-V-E it so thanks!
3:25 remiss. Not amiss.
Love your videos! Just in the interest of feedback, i don't prefer the overhead shot/voiceover combo. I would mich prefer the talking head setup. But thats just one vote! Thanks for the video!
Great video Amanda!! Im trying to downsize my collection so this is particularly usegul 😅
Do you have any idea what eyeshadow is in your eyes in the tower 28 make waves demo?
the eyeshadow looks almost iridescent green in some shots, gorgeous!
Today is a great example of low effort makeup-
Salt NY sneaky balm skin tint warmed up on the back of my hand and spread around with fingers
Salt NY contour balm on cheeks and eyes
Judy doll contour palette for cheeks and eyes (easily makes my dark circles look like an intentional smoky eye lol)
The saem curling mascara
Whatever lipgloss Im trying to use up 😂
End result is looking well rested and more put together and I wore this basically every day for a few weeks traveling, only thing I would do next time is bring an alternative skin tint since wearing the same thing every day regardless of product tends to make my skin angry 😂
Elf camo concealer has totally replaced tarte shape tape for me. I have a lot of undereye lines, so something that actually dries down but isn’t super cakey is essential! And usually a loose powder for under eyes, something hypoallergenic like coverfx or lawless. Favourite face powder is kosas cloud set, just perfects everything. I do also sometimes just really like a powder foundation or mineral powder because it gives you a decent amount of coverage very quickly and without fuss, just to even things out! You dont even have to use concealer with it, depending on the coverage. If I want a light coverage foundation, fenty eaze drop. But I really want to try the danessa myricks blurring balm powder too.
Love this...thank you!💜
Hiiii 👋 I love your videos, they’re always very helpful! I love the BK brushes too! I’m trying to compare their smudger eye brushes, would you recommend the 204 or N12 for someone who has smaller hooded eyes? Thank you!
Do you use a different brush to set your makeup with translucent powder or do you use the same brush that you use for blush/bronzer?
My spf is called a moisturizing spf primer lol, so because I have oily skin if I have a hydrating primer I can use it as all three of those steps if I’m in a rush :) naked Sundays! Great product, decent price
Hi Amanda. The eyeshadows are called taupe. But they look warm to me. Which is what I am looking for. Are they warm or cool?
I have half light and personally feel like it’s more neutral-cool than warm. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t last the whole the day on me. I don’t usually have that issue with other shadows. But it doesnt look bad as it fades away so that’s a plus. It’s not something I’ll put on in the morning unless I’ll be home by the afternoon. Which brush would you recommend for cream/liquid bronzer or blushes?
Reminds me of my high-school and college makeup collections.

On an everyday basis I use the la colors brow pencil in soft brown, la colors clear lash bond mascara, and essence shine shine lip gloss (you can tell I’m on a budget) sometimes I will add blush from essence too
I love those essence lip glosses!
@@bebitamira3054they are the best and affordable too
Yeah some concealers really only want to blend into foundation, not bare (but moisturized) skin
Thanks❤❤❤
I also love 'pops of color' (like a mauve or an orange) one and done eyeshadows! It doesn't take a lot of work to add something playful to my look that way
I thought you were about to review some shapewear. That bag sure looked like Spanx at first. 😂
Could you please please tell me what shade you are in the Ciele concealer?
Going to venture to guess that the Rituel de fille in half light is somewhat similar to chantecaille mermaid eye matte in Sylvie ? (Also feeling like the charlotte tilbury pop shot in Smokey quartz is similar to filthy rich from the new elf shadow when applied to the eye!?)
I still want to try that concealer but is ND better?
Im Going to pipe in here although I’m not Amanda. The ND is touted as a great concealer by many. I have dry skin and I’m in my 50s. So I use very minimal under eye concealer only in the inner corners and it has to be moisturizing. The tower 28 and kosas are my favs. The ND is much drier and thicker. So if that’s what you are looking for it would be wonderful, as it’s not super dry. But it’s not moisturizing at all. But it would be great for the face I think.
What was the shade name of the Fwee she suggested?

Does anyone have any idea how Merit Rouge compares to Finest Hour from Tower 28? Finest Hour the same red shade that came out with the Kung Fu Panda collab
To my eye, the Merit has a slightly more pink undertone, & Tower 28's more neutral red
@ that is helpful, thank you!
OK, but every video you make has many different makeup items, so don't you think that is contributing to the "overwhelm" ?
It’s her job to show and review makeup so I can’t see how she would avoid the quantity of products…🤷🏼♀️Ultimately, it’s our job individually to decide what is important for us and choose based on the information we’re given. Everyone has different needs and wants. 😝
