    Great review Jabin! As you know, I am a huge fan of SNS as well! As you said, the smoke hole is one of my favorite features for the low and slow, so easy to dial in the temps. The ease of removing the ash bucket for emptying is another! Just did a reverse sear Tri-Tip last night! Cheers!

    Great review! I just got my SNS a month ago and am extremely pleased with it! Took all of 2 cooks to get it figured out temp and vent wise... am having LOTS of fun cooking on it. Just smoked chicken thighs yesterday that came out AMAZING!!! Ribs, roasts, everything comes out fantastic! My temp is the same, within 5 to 10 degrees of my digital probe. The only thing I missed when ordering was, not knowing about the the "deluxe" version of the sns... find out after I ordered my kettle... would have spent the little extra to get it so I could take the water tank out when I didn't need it. All in all though, well done SNS!!! 😃😋😋😋

    I noticed on their website that under what's included it lists a gasket kit as separate, in another review, they showed it to being gasketed, I was curious if the lid is gasketed as purchased or if I want a gasket I will have to get the kit?

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  3 года назад

      No, the way it’s set up the ash is contained to the opposite side. The smoke hole I believe was designed with the ability of using blower as well I believe.

    Jabin...(or anyone w/ experience) if you are cooking low-n-slow with bottom vent closed, would you recommend smoke hole near slow-n-sear or opposite side? T.I.A.

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  3 года назад +1

      Great question. The kettle is designed that basically the SNS basket goes in the back side opposite the top vent and thermometer. So set it up away from you. It’s the most natural set up and exactly how you see me set up with the weber in my other kettle videos. Hope that helps.

  • @derekcharles3515
    @derekcharles3515 2 года назад +3

    Good review, however if you look, there's an issue with bottom vent. It can't be fully closed off, because the fingers of the vent cover are hollow and are lifted on the ends. Even though you close down the vent holes, they're still open to let air flow. Webers aren't like that. The fingers are flush with the surface and DO close off the vent holes.

    That kettle looks mighty clean for one you say you’ve already done several cooks on.
    (I’m guessing they loaned you a separate one for the video.)
    Edit: Actually it does look used in the clips where we see you talking about it., so I’m guessing the close-up shots were filmed earlier.

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  3 года назад

      I filmed it over a a week. Started with clean shots unused, then those cooking shots were through the week followed by the review. That way I can show what it’s like new. You can see how it all comes together when I open the grill around 9:30. There are shots of it unused but when I talking with it open the grill is filthy. Haha. That’s the magic of editing. That said it’s been the only grill I’ve used for the past few months and I still love it.

The fit and finish is horrible. the metal its made from is thinner than weber. I got through may 10% of the assembly and returned it.
