Thanks Matt. I was a Granada employee and as far as I can recall a Christmas party snippet went something like this: Gone is the cotton mill When clogs on cobbles was the drill The war is won, a youthful age has begun Old folks still mouth there words and say Is this -------- rock n roll really here to stay?
Actually there was an intended lyric that was written by my late friend Jeff Ryan. He played me a demo of it on an old reel-to-reel sung by Georgie Fame, no less. It was never released but it was amazing. I can remember some of the lyrics.."gone are the bad old days, now we've new fangled ways, nowt south to beat, Coronation Street, Mam's mending underwere, Da's cutting Derek's Her, Tharud be rare, in London, come for your holidays, now we've got motorways, it's only two turns from London. Something &Aspidetra what-nots, something & Lancashire hot pots". I wish I could find a copy!
Original closing titles to Coronation Street from 09th December 1960 but obviously with dubbed vocals as I know it originally ended and they never would’ve said things like that back then

Short Lyrics:
There is a little street
Where all the neighbours meet
So but quite nice
And everything is SHITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Original Producer Stuart Latham
Great voice though.
song writing in the 60s was rad
A JOKE righT> all those swear words. No way. This is like an April fools joke
I wants to break free song Music video is based on classic characters from coronation Street
Which is why the Americans banned it as they didn't understand the joke
WTF
Everything is shite when living in Constipation street… or barely any shite. Plenty of piss though!
