With your rear wheel bearings, I've seen some remove the two rear axle seals in the axle tubes and run the diff oil in the rear hubs. You add an extra 400ml of oil once full through the breather outlet on the top of the axle tube and the LSD oil runs throughout the diff & hubs. Oil is what big trucks commonly run in their hubs & wheel bearings.
Hey Dusty, mad Matt did a feature on this topic a couple of years ago ruclips.net/video/CTY9VWBTWx4/видео.html Check my comprehensive reply in the comments.
every thing is looking great, do you think that a set of high clearance u-bolt plates would give you a couple more inches in travel for the shocks as well as more spring to ground space. superior have a new billet setup that is approved for gvm upgraded vehicles. it looks from the photos that the shock mount ends up above the plate not below
Cheers Michael, yes big improvement on previous model, which we ended up putting the 200series one in, but this one is as good as that from factory, so saved me money, but would still be nice if the had a camera set up from factory.. So big tick from me.....
Don't forget your speed limit when towing over 4.5T G.V.M is 100Kmh. I got 99% speedo accuracy with TOYO AT2 285/75R16 in my 2014 VDJ79R, heaps better tyres offroad & on.
You don’t have to replace the wheel bearings every 20k, even with -50 wheels. Muddy or salty water will kill them fast but if you keep them clean they are good for 200k plus. I can’t believe TJM are still flogging those rubbish urethane caster bushes. You will be running close to zero caster with 3” lift but the real downside is the lack of flexibility in the urethane and the lack of clearance on the tight side of the bushes, they are fine for highway, arguably better than rubber, but severely restrict off road articulation and will tear the control arm mounts from the axle housing. The easy solution is caster arms which ironically also severely limit articulation because they don’t twist. The proper solution is cut and turn the knuckles, which is a massive punish job.
Cheers Brian, re bearings, you know im no chance of keeping mine clean.... Rotating knuckles??? You going to be an expert after the Bullet truck mission..
the 79 is looking great Denny

Can you legally run 35" on a79 cruiser? I've been trying to find info on this for Victoria but not having much luck.
Not really mate, although the roadside blitz they had at tuff truck this year, they did not defect me..
Why does tjm supply such short shocks for a 3 inch kit? Maybe using the same shock for their 2 inch kits?
Mmmmm, most "usual" companies do this unfortunately, pretty poor
Do you have part numbers on those bilstein shocks you ran interested in a set
Will look into it and send..
Can you run 315/75/16 on lc79 with 2inch lift without scrubbing? Thanks
305s I would say confidently, 315s may just touch, caster correction may just help...
