I really concur with what the others are saying about the Manchester. I thought it was shinier sounding too.

The Manchester wins for color and flexability of style. Ballads, legit or lead ..take your pick.

Manchester sounds crisp and clear, the ACB kinda smokey. My choice is the Manchester. The Schagerl I did not care for, kinda average sounding.

As a cornet player, I slightly prefer the Schagerl. It's the brightest, and trumpets should be a little bright (in my opinion). They all sound good enough that I don't have a strong opinion though.

What's different for you in terms of how they respond?

Man, I really love watching these videos!! I tried to listen really carefully - and for me the ACB goes to the bottom. It has that smoky dark sound but I prefer just a bit more brightness. I don't know what it is with the ACB but it sounds like there's an additional air leaking through the notes. The Schagerl sounds a lot like a Bach Stradivarius to me - well centered, seems like a good all-around horn but in second place for me. The Manchester kind a wowed me - a smoother sound but with more brightness than the ACB. The lows sounded great as did the highs. The Manchester wins in my opinion. If you like jazz only you're probably going to pick the ACB. But, I'm going Manchester. PS-my only request in these videos is to play some more classical licks as well just to hear how all around these horns are. Thank you!

wow the 2rl was so obviously different sounding--way more ooey gooey chocolatey. Seems like it would be best for something really specific; jazz/soloing, stuff where you like sounding kind of like a saxophone. The other two sounded similar; more standard trumpet tone.

honestly I love your sound on the ACB. I'm in the market... how does it compare to the Yamaha 8335LA? I'm coming from a 5335G intermediate horn and want to move to a horn with a bit more flexibility in sound

In my opinion for you the Manchester is the way to go it's an amazing trumpet for the price!

@@austincustom Why are you recommending the Manchester over the ACB? Do you consider the Manchester a better all-rounder or just a better quality horn than the 2RL? Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you.

For some reason that ACB almost doesn't sound like a brass instrument, sounds saxophonish, don't care for it. But I guess that is the modern sound trumpets are going for these days, like a Wynton Marsalis sound.
