Good video. I had to replace the control arm brackets on my D30 about a year back. Got to learn how to weld as well, so it was a good project. Next up is a 8.8 for the rear!
Can you please tell me what size the lower control arm mount camber bolts are or what kit to get. Because the original mounts don't have that castor adjustment slot and the mounts don't come with it or list a part number for them. I would definitely appreciate it brother.
man i wish someone would have replied to you. i’m replacing both of mine front mounts on my tj and got quoted $650 and i’m supplying the mounts i find.
@@FilmJunkieOutdoors I finally found the camber bolts but thank you. That sucks brother, that's why I'm glad that I do everything myself. I just have to actually get off my ass and get the mounts done. I did the front driver's side coil spring perch myself and it was actually pretty easy. Now I just have to do the other side and like I said the control arm mounts and a bunch of other things...lol. But you can save so much money doing everything yourself.
Installing with the axle in just checking fitment but for some reason the control arm (stock) is way longer than where the mount is going to sit on the passenger side
I have a huge problem with my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee and need some advice on what to do. According to a local repair shop in my area upon inspection they found that the right rear upper control arm that ties into the ear on the frame had worn out and broke. I am not sure that would be the proper name of the part, but I need to see if anyone knows the proper name of the part and where I can order it. Plus go about getting them replaced.
+xjmachine Ahh I see why you thought that cause I said I wont have lower arms... I guess technically I will but they just wont mount in that location or use those mounts.
Hey Matt, I know it's a little bit off the subject but, I got anti-freeze leaking out of the transmission you have any idea or resolution for that. Could it be a hose, bad water pump... just thought I ask for your professional opinion. Thanks

i’m having to pay 650 for both of my front mounts to be put on. I think i need to learn to weld to with these kind of prices.
Hey Matt, what kind of welder do you use for those LCA mounts?

My old brackets have a regular hole can I switch to these ones with adjustment ??
that was the cutest little bead ever you had for the filler. almost didn't have to grind it.
Could you have been able to heat it up and bend it back in place
If you need welding sleeves id be more happy to send you a pair. Cause damn....
I don't really get the procedure for finding the right angle of the bracket. What are you supposed to line it up with?
Installing with the axle in just checking fitment but for some reason the control arm (stock) is way longer than where the mount is going to sit on the passenger side
Could you stick weld
These brackets?

I got the rustys offroad version of these followed another video and never said anything about putting them at an angle am I screwed?
not sure, can you get the links in as it is? if so then its probably ok but maybe not the best for flex and such.
How much of an angle did you set it at? I'm getting ready to do my drivers side lca mount
How did it go? I’m about to weld mine lol
"I press the button and it wacks right off" hahahahaha
+BleepinJeep I'm sure you have said before but what mig welder do you use?
Like the narrations, there funny. Great video as usual, keep it up Matt.
I "straightened" mine ....my wheel ain't straight though....but it drives ok
Where are you located
Can I do this with the axle shaft in place
Feel free to send those brackets my way. I'll give them a good home.
i would have used a grinding wheel first. you burn through flappy disk so fast when you got a lot to grind off
Haha the Bob Ross of LCA repair... not a problem, this mounts a happy little bird now
are you gonna run front leaf springs?
+xjmachine no, double triangulated 4link front and rear.
+xjmachine Ahh I see why you thought that cause I said I wont have lower arms... I guess technically I will but they just wont mount in that location or use those mounts.
It's a 99 Cherokee sport XJ
163,000 miles
