Yeah thing is Superman's humanity and unrelenting attempt to do good is what made him a hero not his powers. Without the heroic desire just to do good not to be seen as some Paragon or something like that we wind up with some version of Hyperion or Gladiator. Admittedly both of those characters are way weaker than Superman but still they like his heart
That's what separate him from other kryptonians his lifelong experience with his powers ...even other characters who temporarily had his powers and got corrupted and also his upbringing by his adoptive parents keeps him grounded
I'm loving this new-yet-old version of Superman. Silver Age powers, and modern day self-control. His abilities have become basically godlike, and that makes it all the more important to him that he maintain his "humanity."
Superman is the one hero meant to be undefeatable. Sure, he has experienced temporary defeat, but ultimately, he will always come out on top. He represents the purist form of good in the universe. I don't mind that he is so powerful, because he has to be in order to stop the most powerful threats out there. I actually get annoyed when he gets damaged by something dumb or gets beaten around by other enemies that are infinitely weaker than the strongest enemies he has faced in the past and defeated. I mostly get annoyed at the lack of consistency that causes.
Superman actually was always getting stronger his whole life since he was a kid, simply because his power comes from the sun, he has always been infinite, getting stronger everyday of his life he had been absorbing the sun's radiation. The more years he continues to absorb radiation for as long as his alive, he will get stronger infinitely. It's just the writers limit him. It's the concept of deriving your power from the sun it just means you're infinitely getting stronger. The reason he has alway been so powerful is because of that, constantly absorbing the sun's radiation. Superman has always been infinite. He's weakness is how the writers limit him when he is able to do anything. And I'm talking bout base Superman he is and always was too powerful.
That’s because the writers understand there needs be check and balances. Otherwise they’re no story. It’s the main reason story involving Carol Danvers tank. That why I consider the True most powerful, since his there needs power balance and fact he’s the original hero. That and Jon is a pushover.
I grew up in the 70's and 80's. During the Bronze age and Early copper age. The Superman of that era was ridiculously powerful, and oddly enough was my favorite version of the character (although I will admit that some of the...sillier tales from the Silver age do hold a bit of a special place for me.) That all being said, making him even MORE powerful than those years, or some of the things I have seen in the intervening years...well... to be honest my only issue with this (yes that pun was intended....ALL my puns are intended) is that I'm not certain that modern writers can really deal with that. I mean back in the 80's they had a very hard time finding villains and challenges to go up against such a powerful character who had multiple ongoing series running every month. At one point in the late 70's and early 80's he appeared in six or seven titles (depending on if he was in JLA) every month. That was a lot of stories to really keep fresh and interesting and took a lot of creativity to come up with new challenges for him. With this new version, that's going to be even harder and, frankly I'm not sure it's even possible. I realize that he isn't appearing in as many titles as he was back then, but even so...I mean would Mongul or Doomsday even be a challenge for him anymore? Will he still be vulnerable to Kryptonite or Magic? I feel like in giving him this power up they've bitten off more than they can chew.
I feel like with Superman, his win is a forgone conclusion. The important thing is how he continues doing the right thing. Just look at All-Star Superman. I don’t think even Doomsday could have beaten that version, yet it’s one of the best Superman stories.
Superman may be indestructible, but normal human beings aren't. You can always challenge him just by putting normal humans at risk. Superman wouldn't even care about the supervillains except that they threaten normal people.
Marvel and DC writers do not write themselves into corners like manga writers because DC and Marvel writers have else worlds and alternate realities which makes it easier for them to write it off as "Happened in else world."
I think his “new” power might just be an expansion on the idea of Tactile Telekinesis that Superboy (Connor Kent) has. It was implied in the John Byrne and Dan Jurgens runs that Kryptonians have a form of psychic power that allows them to use a form of telekinesis with physical touch. Idk if that’s what they’re going for, but it would make sense.
From what I've heard its not psychic but a solar energy powered warp of space-time. Warping the space around his body allows him to transport through space, thats how he flies and throws massive punches and can exist at superspeeds. He can release a blast of the absorbed light through his eyes (in my mind because the eyes are meant to capture light better than anything they project it better). And he has at all times a very thin area of warped space around him that shields him and his clothes at all time (in my mind also why he would wear such a tight suit). He extends that field around objects he touches to carry massive weights and all parts of the object so it doesn't snap, or to protect something else like a person he'd be flying from burning up. Im hoping too this is an expansion of these existing powers.
His bioelectric aura is CANON,in sum comic he protects a planet with it,in all star superman he can even use it like sum kinda throwing electric baseball
I like the idea that space time no longer holds any meaning to him. It seems like he’s so fast that he just seems like he’s teleporting but it’s really just super Saigon speed.
So basically he’s God but a green rock is weakness? But he has super sight & hearin & should be fast enough to predict n stop them from using it … but won’t
Idk his power has always been strong & here he comes again being the one that before didn’t really need the Justice league and now ESPECIALLY doesn’t need the league really just Batman & Superman duo alone is OP they get the most ridiculous writer shields

I like that Kal finally got a power boost. If they kept the lore intact, regarding him getting power from yellow sun radiation, it's only logical that over time, he would keep getting more powerful, and exhibit an increase in his powerset. He's stayed the same for so long, this change has been long overdue, imo. Now, they just need him to start to explore the larger universe. Discover different vistas, and encounter new friends/enemies. He can leave his son, Jon, to look after Earth. Having Kal experience character growth would do much to increase interest in him, again.

It’s about time! He’s been de-powered so many times it’s ridiculous. The Sentry, Hyperion and others have gotten more powerful (even if they are Marvel). What has made him the OG is he has found a way to win even with exposed to his weaknesses; that’s what’s key. Just write better stories where even though he’s more powerful he still has to find a way to win when your enemy isn’t affected by what you can do and still keep your morals. That’s what’s tough and makes a great story.
my only problem with making superman more omnipotent is now how will any threat be a threat if all previous concepts like spacetime dont mean anything to him anymore
The threats can be more internal and emotional. For me personally, I was never invested in how hard Superman can punch but how we perseveres any emotional or moral obstacle.
Supes is showing why he still one of my favorite DC Heroes. As time progresses we see Supes get stronger. SO we finally have the OG Supes back. I dig it.
The reason I love this is bc its what Superman deserves. Out of all these characters Thor, Goku, Sentry, Hulk all of them use their powers mainly for combat. But Superman is different. The reason he will always be the most powerful fictional character is bc what he stands for is more then a simple big punch or toughness. He’s a symbol that good always wins……always. To say that he loses is contradicting what he stands for. Well deserved
Superman has always been powerful, his always been limitless, he has always been a being physically stronger than most gods but now they just made it official that he is and was always a Limitless potential being as the whole concept of his power meaning and who he is in his name, "Super" in Superman. We've seen many times that he is infinite in strength and speed, so it's kinda not new, this is just an official confirmation that he is still the strongest superhero across comic book history as it originally should be. Love the new upgrade of course a being such as Superman couldn't remain the same forever by just getting hints of his infinite potential in prior comics or display of constantly nerfing this God level being. Now it's established. This god like being just gets stronger and stronger, infinitely. A Being stronger than most gods. I'm glad he still is the Clark Kent for Justice not murder. However we haven't yet seen all that he can do, he just scratched the surface.
Not sure what's so impressive here. Luther sent Supe's 25,000 lightyears away in a second. That breaks the laws of reality before supers gets back in what I would say is slower than how he got there (created portals to come back being milliseconds slower then magically coming back as quick as he went.)
You're not the only one my friend...I think Superman should be. It's like what marvel does with the hulk always upgrading him to bet the strongest there is.
I'd like to see a video on Boy Thunder, don't know too much about him but it sounds like he's Superman's sidekick or was his sidekick in the past. Idk if it's an elseworld story or retcon
I kind of feel like this upgrade came about because a lot of people were pointing out that Sentry scales a bit higher with his matter manipulation and telekinesis on top of everything else. This puts Supes back on top for sure.
@@Kira22558 True, but I'd still say Sentry edged him out by just a little not even including the Void. The Molecule Man situation was pretty impressive. I'm not a Sentry fan boy. Just giving an honest assessment. But after this issue Supes definitely has superiority.
I think Superman's character should evolve and learn new powers because honestly, he/we don't know anything about his race really and it's history and I'm sure there are many, many stories over thousands of years (or more) Reasonable evolution of course. Nothing that really takes away from Supermans' humanity since he did grow up on Earth
I barely read any version of comics save for Japan, Korea and sometimes Chinese; the stories are one track and stop once they've reached their goal-well, some of them (cough) one piece. But all jokes aside I do miss reading DC comics- I've been a fan since I was 8, it's just... I can't really jump on board once they start to change some aspect of my favorite characters superman being a prime example, and don't get me I love change but sometimes creators take change just a little too far.
Superman's greatest strength feat is when he broke chains that were used to haul stars between galaxies. Upon calculation, this yields millions of stellar weights of force.
He broke the literal concept of infinity and he held up the heavens (which was infinite) when Superman took the place of Atlas momentarily I can keep going with better feats..
That suit sucked. Made Superman look too much like a cold, detached dictator. The very antithesis of what Superman supposed to represent. I'm happy that he's in his classic suit (w/red overpants/trunks) again. It's not outdated: It's TIMELESS.
@tebS23 whilst I agree the New 52 superman was differently characterized, I still love that suit, not the man wearing it. I love the art style of new 52 as well, characters aside. Hence, I would like to see its return on the OG superman because I am not a fan of the underwear/over pants look. Superman is my favorite comic book character. Period. Hence, my desire to see in an outfit I like. That said, I do agree with you, sir/ma'am, that the OG suit is timeless. It is. I only wish for more mature/contemporary variety, as displayed by the new 52 suit. 😊
He’s above pre crisis levels of strength & speed without the other goofy powers during the pre crisis era. The writer said on twitter he just used his bio electric aura to do this feat.
6:13 “can Superman create and destroy things with just his mind now?” We saw Superman rebuild the Great Wall of China just by looking at it back in the 80’s.
It's been overdue for some time now if u ask me, cause he did reverse time in 1 of the old Superman movies. Only thing left is to make him a better fighter, have him trained in MMA.
Oh yeah, JUST what Superman needs, a power UPgrade!! My whole life I have been thinking about how cool it is that Superman can hang with the rest of the Justice League despite his lack of power.
Can imagine when darkseid heard about this power upgrade ....bro must shivering in his little darkseid boots....No more attempts to fight sups because his beat down would be even greater
This is really really awesome next level stuff. One thing remains in my head, if he's that powerful is there no weakness? Is kryptonite just another rock now? Does he rely on the sun for power?
This power is to show superman held back when batman versed him and now whenever batman wears a dumb bogus battle suit superman can dismantle and leave him defenseless. Awesome and as it should be.
I don't see the big deal with a power upgrade. Superman often seems too powerful for most stories anyway. My favorite Superman DC alteration is when Clark went blue skinned; it went beyond amplifying his abilities.
@@AmazingSpider-Man Not just Marvel. With Anime becoming so popular yall really think DC hasnt heard of the Goku vs Supermsn debates There out to keep superman #1 as they should
Who's gonna tell him not to tho??? Especially with this new power boost. He can wear whatever he wants. Hell, he can be naked... nobody's gonna tell him what to do. Lol
Even before this power upgrade Superman was able to travel to the Source Wall pretty casually. So unless Lex teleported him to a distance far greater than where the Source Wall was, that move was pretty pointless lmao.
yeah and then he just becomes God and all evil ceases and from there on DC comics just prints comics of picnics and pie eating contests. that would be some really cool storytelling
Well there goes the final arguments Goku fans had as to why Goku would beat Superman. But in all seriousness this is a insane level of power from Superman, is the a new golden age superman?
I still want Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy back to his little 10 year old self but at point I hate to say it but that ship has sailed which sucks because there’s still so much stories with Clark Kent Superman teaching his son Jon Kent as his little 10 year old self at least in my opinion.
Are they doing like a The One kind of thing. Where as Supermen from across the universe die, the remaining power then even redistributes itself among the surviving versions?

And he has at all times a very thin area of warped space around him that shields him and his clothes at all time (in my mind also why he would wear such a tight suit). He extends that field around objects he touches to carry massive weights and all parts of the object so it doesn't snap, or to protect something else like a person he'd be flying from burning up. I
@stefansauvageonwhat-a-twis1369 No not all Kryptonians have tactile telekinesis. It's literally just Conner
@@zthemartian616 interesting, seems that way, he can mimic kryptonian powers with it. btw apparently Chris Kent does it too at some point
The power upgrade is overdue and I hope its permanent. Also, I rather like the idea that kryptonite will no longer be a weakness.
Well damn, i need to start reading Superman comic
I prefer my Superman powered up and unstoppable.
It'll be hard to justify other heroes if time and space don't matter to Big Blue.
Simple, the same way they always have, give him problems that power doesn't solve
The threats can be more internal and emotional. For me personally, I was never invested in how hard Superman can punch but how we perseveres any emotional or moral obstacle.
Omnipotent? 😂
You DC wankers are dgnerating with each passing year.
Okay? Cry
Supes is showing why he still one of my favorite DC Heroes. As time progresses we see Supes get stronger. SO we finally have the OG Supes back. I dig it.
So with Supes new upgrade can we have an updated version of Super-man vs Goku. I never get tired of these vs segments
Superman was superior before. Now it's even more one sided sadly.
Gotta wait for Goku to get a stronger form or finish his Ultra Instinct training in the Dragon Ball Super manga.
@@mel-el5862 Superman was not superior before lol. If you’re going off of death battle that has been proven wrong already by Seth the programmer.
Nah I think Superman needs a real challenge with the new powers... not Goku. But Popeye!
Why another? The outcome will be the same.
Just when you thought Superman couldn’t get anymore powerful.
Can't have the marvel superman ripoffs getting ahead of the dc original
@@willjohnboy lol facts.
Yeah, but if Goku was to help Superman with darksied, I would be awesome!! Goku mastered ultra instinct.
And he'll still lose to Batman 😆
@@davidkight6601 literally somehow someway😂😂😂😂😂
Just the kind of positivity I needed in my life...!!! 💙
Dear God he's on another level again.
Superman the goat bro so powerful but still good
I can’t be the only who luv that Superman is the most powerful superhero OF ALL TIME!
You're not the only one my friend...I think Superman should be. It's like what marvel does with the hulk always upgrading him to bet the strongest there is.
Boring… 🥱
Superman should be OP! He represents Hope and Goodness

Base superman before this
Had High outerversal level
@@Kira22558
True, but I'd still say Sentry edged him out by just a little not even including the Void. The Molecule Man situation was pretty impressive. I'm not a Sentry fan boy. Just giving an honest assessment. But after this issue Supes definitely has superiority.
Yeh but silver age superman easily would top sentry in any Era
@@lagosz1 Sentry has a deminsion of 1 million suns. Base superman defeats him with senturies own power. LOL
@@alirezaabbasi6882 not the void and yes @lord Liman that's what i feel also
This will probably be another one off of Superman's power that will never be used again.
So normal Superman is being upgraded into Golden Age Superman?
I think Superman's character should evolve and learn new powers because honestly, he/we don't know anything about his race really and it's history and I'm sure there are many, many stories over thousands of years (or more)
Reasonable evolution of course. Nothing that really takes away from Supermans' humanity since he did grow up on Earth
Ah, yes. Because freakin' Superman of all people needed more power... xD
With his new upgrade, one would have to wonder about his interactions with some of the more powerful enemies ... such as Darksied
I still wish for the new 52 suit to make its return on the current superman.
@@Raytheus rebirth suit is better. superman doesn’t need some armored outfit with an edgy collar and cuffs extending on his sleeves
@TalentRoller 44 I understand that, sir/ma'am. Once again, it is simply aesthetically pleasing to me. 😊 I do love the new 52 outfit.
He’s above pre crisis levels of strength & speed without the other goofy powers during the pre crisis era. The writer said on twitter he just used his bio electric aura to do this feat.
superman can now create boom tubes, how much more powerful is he going to get
Confirmation that superman has toon force. This is DC's one up on all other comics is that Superman can do absolutely anything lol
Saitama: “ok”
6:13 “can Superman create and destroy things with just his mind now?” We saw Superman rebuild the Great Wall of China just by looking at it back in the 80’s.
👍👏
Speaking of Manchester Black, Are you going to do history of him and his team known as the Elite?
Congratulations you have been selected among the shortlisted winner's for the ongoing Ps5 giveaway 🎁🎁👆👆..
It's been overdue for some time now if u ask me, cause he did reverse time in 1 of the old Superman movies. Only thing left is to make him a better fighter, have him trained in MMA.
He already is. He defeated cobra while he was in batman's body.
Oh yeah, JUST what Superman needs, a power UPgrade!!
My whole life I have been thinking about how cool it is that Superman can hang with the rest of the Justice League despite his lack of power.
Lmfao
Personally, I like it when Superman is op. When written well, it shows how good of a person he is with all that power.
Yeah but it's cool for Marvel to give captain marvel literally every power up and weapon under the sun in every other book
@@livestreamgaming420 what…?? Lol 😑
@@livestreamgaming420 thats lame too
Can imagine when darkseid heard about this power upgrade ....bro must shivering in his little darkseid boots....No more attempts to fight sups because his beat down would be even greater
My favorite Superman DC alteration is when Clark went blue skinned; it went beyond amplifying his abilities.
when superman reads the One Punch Man manga and gets inspired.
He has to keep up with all the superheroes inspired by him but made to look stronger lol
Exactly, DC cannot let Marvel's Sentry surpass Clark.
@@AmazingSpider-Man ehh sentry isn’t the strongest anymore thor has firmly established himself as the strongest after his recent feats and buffs

Of course he did. He's a DC character they only focus on making their already OP characters even more OP. Reminds me of DragonBall Z.
It's not power we wanted but it is the power grade needed. Specially if he take on Goku in his upgrades
I freaking love your videos bro so amazing and i saw the whole video 2 times and still wasnt bored lol
Finally a Super superman!!
That wasn't Calvin Ellis. That was Val-Zod. Calvin Ellis is President Superman
The only thing he’s missing now is matter manipulation, creation and destruction based on thought alone
*Holy shit now the most powerful character just become beyond anything the comics have ever seen*
He may be able to teleport but at least Flash (Wally) has proved that he’s faster than instant teleportation.
Uhm Superman is faster than instant teleportation too -_- I mean he can fly from earth to edge of the universe in just months
It's been a while since I've read comics but thank you keeping me in the loop
So Death Battle was *right* about Superman's potential
Hey I was wondering will y'all make a history of Godfall Superman that would be so Awesome!!
Everytime superman gets a power up...
Arris : *sweats* yes... yes infinite is still more powerful... of course... of course
I bet Goku would still give him a Senzu Bean.
I guarantee you that the writers will still find a way for him to be taken down by the Batman… they always do😤😒
"stronger than ever before" immediately made me go think how it will compare to superboy prime
Guess he could be close to that lvl ....since the silver age supes was more or less equal to superboy prime
Upon all this power, he still wears his underwear outside 😂😂😂
Who's gonna tell him not to tho??? Especially with this new power boost. He can wear whatever he wants. Hell, he can be naked... nobody's gonna tell him what to do. Lol
Even before this power upgrade Superman was able to travel to the Source Wall pretty casually. So unless Lex teleported him to a distance far greater than where the Source Wall was, that move was pretty pointless lmao.
he should be given a cosmic role now, like the spectre, and jon kent should continue his stint as earth's superman !
He should but Jon Kent is hated so they probably won't do that
I like it that Superman got a power up grade, it's about time!!
That's Val Zod not Calvin Ellis
I LOVED the look on Lex's face when he realized what the new powers meant.
Jeez and I thought he was powerful enough especially the last powerup I remember him getting was that solar flare thing
See it's king shit like this, that got me into Superman and his comics in the first place.
Superman is my favorite character in comics so I'm freaking loving this give him more power more power this is phenomenal.
Every time he uses this new power an alternate universe of him dies.
I hope they keep it consistent from here and keep making him more powerful I like this
yeah and then he just becomes God and all evil ceases and from there on DC comics just prints comics of picnics and pie eating contests. that would be some really cool storytelling
@@thisisnotthetimeorplacehow1609 why are you crying kid?
@@chaneladriana6829 I think you misunderstood, I wasn't crying, I was applauding your idea and taking it to it's logical extreme.

a man who blew away a solar system with just his sneeze... just got more POWERFUL! I am sooo excited to see what other power upgrades he got! 🤩
Story of superman is his greatest power
So Supes has Instant Transmission now. And probably some minor telekinesis.
Well there goes the final arguments Goku fans had as to why Goku would beat Superman. But in all seriousness this is a insane level of power from Superman, is the a new golden age superman?
@@zakapholiac9377Nah it’s not the final argument 💀
i wonder how batman gonna make contigency plan for this
I still want Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy back to his little 10 year old self but at point I hate to say it but that ship has sailed which sucks because there’s still so much stories with Clark Kent Superman teaching his son Jon Kent as his little 10 year old self at least in my opinion.
Are they doing like a The One kind of thing. Where as Supermen from across the universe die, the remaining power then even redistributes itself among the surviving versions?
