I have been on eBay for 9 years. Recently eBay has withhold $23000 for over 9 months now. I have tried everything . Call over 40 times and exceeded all options. Right now I lost my warehouse. Lighting and everything. M suing for damages
I bet eBay are trialling the fifteen minute cities the government corrupt in uk is trying to implement it makes you think how many problems AI are going to not not work in place of humans, or over seas none speaking English 🤔at call centres, this is a problem and is going to get worse as time moves on.
I’m really glad you got an apology. But you only got one because of RUclips. I went through something similar and it lasted a month. I also made a complaint. Heard nothing back.
Couldn't agree, more and we shouldn't be treated any differently to any other ebay seller... they need to improve their service and communication across the board for everybody
They need to apologize to EVERYONE who doesn't have your public profile. And explain what, specifically, they are going to change to improve. I have had many companies and government agencies admit that there were mistakes and they will "consider" feedback. Vague promises are worth nothing.
They won’t change I can guarantee that because they have a system to make it incredibly difficult to complain and to get a fair hearing. RUclips is full of horror stories what people have experienced over the last 3 years and decided it’s just to much aggravation. Just look at the amount of listings it has massively reduced that too me that eBay has massive problem They are damaging there own reputation and brand.
The other issue with Ebay is it is overrun with dodgy Chinese sellers - particularly those who pose as being based in your local area. You buy something, it fails, asked to return and suddenly you are paying almost as much as the cost of the item to return it - not to a town 20 miles away but to China.
I recently had this exact same issue. I am in Australia I purchased a product from a seller who I thought was in Victoria. Product was absolute rubbish, cost me $22 to return it, to Sydney (not Victoria from where I received it). I then had communications from Hong Kong, asking for photos of the item I had already posted. I left a negative review. I then get further communications (3 over a couple of weeks) from Hong Kong offering me money ($20) or good discount on other items, to delete my review. I complained to EBay, about the harassment to delete my review. In the end I had to block seller. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish, and I was never advised by EBay that anything was done. I watched the seller account for a little while, it got flooded with positive reviews in an attempt to counteract mine and a couple other negative reviews (who didn’t accept the offer to delete) so they could raise their seller rating %
Actually you are better off if you are a Chinese seller because the cost of our postal services, important in extremely low profits where you must find the cost of returns which is forced. Not only that, but the feedback systems are ridiculously biased to uphold absolute theft! The fees are too high now to make anything beyond a Christmas box.
A while back I was getting caught by Amazon drop shippers. Listing Amazon Prime products at a higher price on Ebay. Then I found RUclips videos on how they automate the listings by stripping details from the Amazon website. They also use a fake courier website to generate fake tracking information.
If you didn’t have a very public platform, you would have had no choice but to silently walk away. They have set up a system that doesn’t listen. If they don’t hear it, they don’t have to do anything about it. They had no choice but to hear you. 1000s of others out there who have been ignored. Who had no choice but to walk away. Some with public reselling platforms
Yup the squeakiest wheel gets the oil, tbh these phone calls are all lip service and if you think otherwise theyve succeeded in their task. They pay peanuts so you get...... poorly trained/knowledgeable/ capable staff lets not pretend otherwise , you could hear it in Nics voice on the last vid when he said hed asked for a call back from Ireland to then hear a non Irish voice, his heart sank as he knew it was all futile.
Yup, after 4 years of doing business with them I had to walk away also due to very similar circumstances -- Ebay is ran by algorithm's and not real people anymore - Unless they 'Need to' !..
ebays business model: get sellers signed up, screw them hard, spit them out, get the next mug signed up. They dont care because there is a constant supply of sellers.
I left ebay after 20 years after being scammed for £2600 by someone in Norway. Ebay washed their hands of it. They refunded him £2600 of my money and he kept the printer. My appeal was dismissed despite providing proof from UPS that the buyer refused to hand over the printer to them on several occasions. I considered going to the Police but I'm not sure what they could have done considering the buyer was overseas.
@@NicHills It was a difficult decision. Thankfully my business wasn't dependent on ebay. To be fair to them, up to that point, they had protected me as a seller whenever I needed it. Initially, they found in my favour and the funds were released but about a month later, they reversed it. I was told it was "loss prevention" that vetoed it and there was no appeal process. It was a difficult decision but I felt I had no option out of principal.
If you been on ebay longer enough you will encounter a scammer just like if you own a shop you going to get shoplifters. But what really pisses me off is how eBay actively helps and always sides with the buyer .
one seller get's shut down by ebay without reason another 1000 seller accounts are created everyday worldwide ... Ebay don't worry about individual sellers try not to feel your a priority ebay don't see it that way
I have stopped selling on eBay. They would not accept standard proof of postage when someone complained that an item hadn’t arrived. You had to use signed for or they wouldn’t believe you, even with proof. When you sell low value items people don’t want to pay signed for prices. The buyer automatically get the money refunded if they say they didn’t receive it. Annoying when it’s the post office that has lost it, or when the buyer is lying. I use fb marketplace now, so much easier and no fees or trips to post office.Get your act together eBay.
The buyer is lying is a MASSIVE problem. I don't have to be Solomon to review a seller's stats, the nature of an item (brand new ink pens, versus used car parts) and the dodgy buyer to dismiss a malicious dispute filed against a seller. Ebay rules in the buyer's favor. You HAVE TO interpret those decisions as a business that doesn't want business
They seem to be totally unaware of their actions and the fact this is people's lively hoods. You regularly get fobbed off, told different things off different agents, they make false promises via webchat or phone. They really need to trained their staff to sing off the same hymn sheet for a start. Action speak louder than words.
I feel many part time sellers would like it to be a full time gig but are to nervous to go ‘All in’ so to speak because of EBay potentially holding or cancelling your account giving you no fair right to reply!
I have seen other videos where people were permanently banned with NO opportunity to even get an explanation. No number to even call since they weren't big enough sellers. A youtube follower gave that person a number. She then verified that the ONLY problem THAT GOT HER BANNED FOR LIFE was that she didn't answer her phone when they called to randomly verify her identity. Think of how that effects people like me who is (was?) getting ready to start selling on ebay again? What if I invest my time developing an ebay business to just have them delete me out of the blue without recourse?
You seem two very nice, very reasonable, very much like the kind of people ebay should embrace. Having said that, ebay could well drive people to end it all as some people may be driven over the edge. I know that sounds melodramatic but it affected you two and luckily you had each other and your channel. It should be the case that they ask for information and you provide it. If after that they give substantial compensation to people where they delay or mess you about. It borders on criminal the way they have behaved. Nice ladies from Ireland apologising is just not good enough!
Exactly! This is why they keep asking for more ridiculous paperwork, because they want to pretend they know what they're doing. They just keep you busy to win time in the hope 'someone else' will figure it out.
this is so similar to a friend of mines experience, he lost his and his wife's accounts after 20 plus years. No way of getting them back and he still does not know why! Well done on your efforts, the thing that worries me is would they have actually sorted the issue for you if you had not got the RUclips coverage showing up what a farce it was. Well done for that.
Thank you so very much!! We see over and over that an eBay seller that has a presence on social media will get the attention, apology, and therefore final resolution to these appalling eBay failures, and then nothing changes. As you so rightly point out, for those of us without that ability to literally shame them into a response, the resulting complete lack of remedy remains. You seem to be standing on your heads to speak up for us. You, while remaining professional and kind with enviable patience, are absolutely tenacious in conveying this systemic platform failing and seeking real change for us all. Again, thank you, thank you.
You are lovely people but nieve. You are now being listened too (because you have platform) . You get to air grievances, ebay admits they made an error, but what is not being mentioned is compensation. Ebay owe you. If they get away without paying you compensation, then they win, and nothing will really change.
The 'member experience' would be improved drastically if they: a) Had human beings viewing the documents they request b) Had local-based (or at very least regional based) customer service representatives c) Employed common sense and empathy, rather than reading from scripts d) Follow through on their promises (calling customers back... resolving issues in a timely manner, etc.) e) Made the process of submitting documentation customer-friendly and f) Didn't take advantage of the people who pay their wages... that's US, the Ebay Sellers! I'm delighted you got your account back up and running... but it shouldn't take someone with a social media presence to get the wheels moving along. As you rightly say, so many people have left, and are leaving, the platform. They leave quietly.
The lady is there for PR lip service. They do not care as long as the listing volume is going up and they are cutting skilled human jobs for cheap call centre staff. They will keep squeezing sellers until their bottom line is affected. This is the basic economics of a business of this size.
Been a private seller on ebay for 20 years, started on vinted 2 days ago and already sold a few items that sat on ebay for months. Hassle free inpost drop offs too. No fees. Ill likely just jump over to vinted soon.
They are good for sales but don't be to quick to jump over as their customer support is really really bad. They have no UK support or base of operation and if you have an issue with an item bought or sold you are on your own
Glad you are standing up for us. I only sell a few things once in a while now. 5 years ago the fees and postage made it not worth it. Last year I sold a few things and fees and postage are even more. I'm in the US. I won't list to sell oversees. Every business interaction here, whether it is my internet provider, a realtor or health care, no one answers the phone. This makes the problem go round and round for weeks with email and robot chats when it could be settled in a phone call.
I would like to know if ebay legally are actually allowed to hold your money for so long. They are not judge and jury, they are not a regulator they are an auction house and you and the buyer have fulfilled both ends of deal. They are not hmrc and i feel legally they push the boundaries at times and should never have held your money during this process
Also if you would like to speak to HMRC speak to the online chat first and they will call you if it cannot be handled on chat. Find that way so much better
Sorry you have been through this stress. I wish there was a viable alternative. I would leave if there was. They don't listen to sellers and just increase fees, then fees on the fees. It is a total joke.
One of the worst decisions eBay made was to remove the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback! But there is no such thing as a 'bad buyer' is there? 😩
A buyer bought an item from me and paid. They messaged me saying they were going on holiday for a week and if I would delay positing the item. I agreed. I posted it the day before they were due to come back. Ebay put a late postage warning on my account. I contacted them saying I was following my buyers instructions and they should have a look at my messages to prove it. They said I breached their policy and they refused to remove it. I was so furious I downgraded my shop. So much for us sellers providing good customer service . 🤬
Absolutely spot on about the frustration with customer service, I believe we just want to get somewhere near the quality of service demanded on us as sellers! -Ebay can be great but frustrating when "Computer says No!"
They had one and its still in the uk. They moved to belgium.... why because corporation tax was less and vat was less. They didnt actually move it was just registered elsewhere.
I left Ebay for this EXACT situation. I have a limited company for which they restricted my seller account and asked a load of stupid questions to 'varify' us. Please bare in mind ALL of the information they asked for is available on the public domain on the companies house website as we trade as a limited company. We have moved to amazon now and not looked back. Much better customer service experience.
Yes but Amazon has the same problem. You have to show your US tax withholding status. That's a nightmare for partnerships because they don't seem to acknowledge any of the documents that are uploaded. I suspect they only deal with individuals or limited companies
Any ebay business that meets certain thresholds should have a personal customer service rep that is knowledgeable and able to give hands on assistance. Seems like that would be a simple fix.
I’ve had so many bad experiences with customer service on eBay now that unfortunately it doesn’t atall surprise me when this sort of situation is aired. The bottom line which I find hard to accept is that there is never any formal feedback from ebay in a managerial position to know these occurrences have reached someone who could influence change… in short if someone has something to say about you as a business seller your without a paddle but if it’s you as a customer/ asset of ebay the treatment doesn’t run the same which isn’t right !!! Hope you can let this one go & will be looking forward to the next episode 😂
Thank you for bringing this to eBay's attention, guys, and your point about feeling like a naughty child every time they tell you off for doing some little thing wrong is so very true.
My wife and I gave up with ebay some years ago, they are an appalling company to deal with. More recently my wifes Etsy business was without warning shut down, it was impossible to deal with Etsy at any level, so that's two companies we've had to dump. The fact these are US companies is more than coincidence, neither has any idea of the importance of customer care.
I was conned, sold a brand new Ralph Lauren blazer 180 , it was tagged and receipt was pictured, I was utterly devastated they sent back tights and refunded the con artist my money. I had sold my own few items that I did not wear. Never ever again, rather donate or gift family & friends clothes than some scammer. Well done dealing with dishonest people and worst, eBay.
If they froze my funds for 2 weeks, I could potentially be homeless. They do this to too many people. They have no concern for their sellers' well-being. Look how many people have been kicked off ebay because they logged into ebay at someone's house where they were banned, so ebay "connects" them as possibly the same seller and shuts them down. That terrifies me, and there seems to be no human help or recourse if something like this happens. Over here in the US, I have been selling for 20 years. I had a problem last week where a buyer sent me rotten food instead of the item they purchased as a return. There was literally no way for me to get a person on the phone. They just don't care about us. Like you said, we have to provide top notch service. They do not do the same.
Brilliant video, so true with the customer standards, it’s so hard just to even get to speak to someone at eBay , I only sell sporadically on ebay but they treat there sellers so badly
Counties have not been part of postal addresses for several decades. It's likely that bosses and system designers weren't aware of this, and thereby added this unnecessary extra piece of bureaucracy into the platform. And as we know, every extra detail increases the chances of errors.
im glad things finally got sorted out for you. it does seem over time that ebays on call reps (when you can even get them on the phone) have less power and less training that they used to. they cant resolve any issues for you any more, they just fill in a form and send it to a department your not allowed to talk to and you will hear back in a few days. ridiculous.
Ebay is only going to get worse for sellers. Many more videos on RUclips support that. Simply put, its so easy but so very wrong for a seller to become complacent. Better off investing in your own website and employing a good seo/marketing company. Then you will have no worries with all the guaranteed hassle from ebay
Great informative video, I’m a full time seller on eBay and I love it! But I believe the only reason it took so long to be sorted is because of lack of staff. Most likely cost cutting and using AI to do a humans job. No only that the staff are very uneducated of UK small business. From your first phone call with eBay if an actual human from the correct department had of talked to you surely it would have been sorted there and then. Sadly I don’t believe they will do much as AI will always be the best option for profits.
Hi , well done for digging in to get some answers, lets hope they take some action and don't just say what they think you want to hear. They mention the human factor - someone reading from a script with a language barrier is not it.
posted item today with 48hr delivery royal mail, funds on hold estimated release date 12th march, dont worry ebay I will just sit here like a lemon until you decide I need the money, what is ebay doing for 11 days I need paying now I sent the item what is wrong with these people I could not make this up I really couldnt
@@TheCraigaberdeen How long have you been on eBay? I know it took 90 days to finally get paid right away if you are new. If you are not new, you can set-up your payment to receive it instantly. Now sure what your situation is, but just letting you know.
@@julieanndiorio2286 Thank you for your message. Its just strange, everything was fine and now I've been asked to scan my passport or drivers license as proof of ID.
Seems pretty obvious (but maybe not to ebay) but have your customer service staff, that deal with UK calls, trained in basic UK business rules. Also, have their computer system programmed to actually be specific in what the error is when the AI is checking a document.
I’ve been watching quite a few of these RUclips videos with the same problem. People are looking for another outlet, I love using eBay but wonder if things will change if there is a new kid on the block? I hear other people asking if there are other sales sites that are better than eBay. It’s a real worry. Happy you have got your problem solved……for now 😊
There, already many different avenues for selling online i use many.. None come close to Ebay in terms of traffic and the quickness of converting trash to cash per se.
If you think about it, by doing this worldwide they are giving themselves a permanent interest free loan of probably millions of £/$/€ . If you delay payments this way, you can have this money constantly because as some goes out more goes in - clever.
Good to hear you got the issue sorted in the end. Has anyone ever applied for a restricted category? It says 3 weeks for descion but we have been waiting 6+ weeks and when you ask for any updates they just say we will tell you when they know more. We might need to start looking at moving to Amazon.
Glad you to finally got this issue sorted though eBay's 'apology' does seem cold comfort especially after all the stress you've had over the last couple of weeks. Been a part-time seller on the platform for about 14 years and never quite had the courage to go full time. Stories like yours ( and many others) just adds to my hesitation for such a move. Be interested to see what the eBay big cheese says to you in the next couple of days. All the best to the both of you ;)
I had the same problem with my address I put Bradford in West Yorkshire and Ebay said I don't need to put the county in, I hope everything goes aswell take care.
The items I sell are all so diverse in nature that there could not be any explaining away why it is that there will be no sales for 3 months and then suddenly 6 totally different items will sell in 2 days. eBay algorithms must mess with what items get viewed and which don't.
Hi Guys, I totally feel your pain and anxiety, long time ebay seller here too, just as a potential answer to part of the situation, they said one of your documents did not match up with the HMRC address due to missing part of the address, maybe examine the documents you where asked for and maybe align all the addresses to the exact same, perhaps use the HMRC one as a baseline address and cut and paste those into all the other places that can be updated, including any middle names / initials etc, so that they are all a carbon copy, IMHO, if the human factor, especially a UK customer rep had personally looked over your original documents, then they would of passed them as all fine, but no doubt some A.I processing, has zero human factor, so unless identical name and address information, then the computer says "no"... Crazy
I just watched the original video about this, the first thing that came to mind was, I wondered if you still had the company details from the ebay manager / director who helped you when you had a problem with a switcharoo, ( The expensive car headlight that got sent back to you after the customer damaged it while fitting it) , it’s always useful keeping contact details so you can bypass the useless customer service agents.
Yup, have been a member of ebay for over 20 odd years. Still on 100 percent, positive ratings . Got tired of being an unappreciated clapping seal, jumping through so many unnecessary hoops a long time ago. Good luck guys. you deserve so much better!
Thank you so much for sharing this very important information. I really hope eBay listen and improve their customer service and treat business owners like "business owners"
eBay has been doing things like this for 15-20 years and have not fixed anything. Sadly, I seriously doubt anything will change. Every seller that leaves 3 more start selling. They have no motivation to listen to sellers when there is a constant line of sellers who will take our place.
Glad you got this sorted but the sad thing is if you didn't have this popular RUclips Channel then I suspect you would be restricted or banned on eBay by now. Ebay has long acted like an entitled monopoly, they act like they don't have any competition & can treat sellers as they wish as they believe sellers have no choice. This is best displayed by the blanket seller charge they are introducing in April at the same time as Vinted step up their activity to launch Vinted Pro in the UK. If eBay are not careful their toys & clothing business in the UK will collapse as all their sellers move.
Scandinavian here, we don't have something called Partnership hence paying taxes, but we do have it hence relationship. Ebay is international business, so they should have known.
I can't imagine what it's like on eBay UK with the higher costs of shipping alone, yet in the US, (as a buyer) I did not receive an item for several weeks. I made a "case" as they call it (this happened in Jan-Feb 2024). I was really just asking where is the antique ring which I paid 575.00 dollars six weeks ago??? eBay put a hold for two more weeks on my purchase and then finally refunded me, yet they had no explanation, apology, or anything. They sent an email which said, "for more info click here." I did and there was no info. RIDICULOUS! They were nervy and asked for my rating of their service so I complained about getting no info and the several extra weeks I waited to receive my item or monies back. I also told them I should claim some kind of interest payment for keeping my money for so long. I'm taking a break from eBay.
The disconnect between Ebay and their customers aka Business Sellers is at an all time low. Ebay are doing this from an absolute position of power and if you are collateral damage then tough luck because Ebay have calculated it's better to lose a few Business Sellers than actually employ knowledgeable UK staff who can resolve your localised issues. I don't see any loyalty between Business Sellers and Ebay - if the time comes where a competitor is on the horizon Ebay will be in serious trouble and they will only have themselves to blame for largely treating their customers like numbers.
That is exactly what I have said in my comment to Nic &Andrea….and suggested they monitor other platforms entering the sector… and change to a better run alternative….eBay don’t like bad publicity OR competition…anything else, is virtually ‘irrelevant’…like the humans who give them their profits 🤬👎
Have followed your journey and frankly, I wanted to say thank you for doing this. It's for the benefit of all of us if you get somewhere and, I'm not sure if I would have your stamina. I'm sorry you have had to go through this ordeal you don't deserve it. The very best of luck.
Followed your experience with eBay and very glad you have got it sorted. I have no experience of eBay but as a small business I have experienced the same frustrations with large organisations IE banks, government, HMRC, suppliers. The level of frustration is exhausting. Take care and I hope your business flourishes.
Nic and andrea maybe if you do get a follow up with a higher up in the company see if they can make it Mandatory that the CS support agents/workers at the lower end must attach every document that a seller supplies for these types of cases (actually cases in general) so if you get a different CS Agent all they have to do is pull up the case and see the documents that were already supplied and also another good thing that they should implement is the calls for cases be recorded to safe guard the seller and eBay and what was talked about can be verified by the recording if there needs to be proof this or that was said to the the CS agent or vise versa (the CS agent to the seller) i don't think they have any of these in place espacaly if your saying you had supplied 2 of the 3 already then if these safe guards were in place where the documents get digitally attached to the case so every CS agent can see them when they pull up the case then you would have only had to submit one of the 3
What you have gone through is a well known tactic in businesses to generate more interest on your money ,2 weeks of your cash and many others generates huge amounts ,you did nothing wrong ,you could have handed them everything and it still would be turned down ,because they needed to make up the tax to pay for april and boom customers money kept for interest
Relief - I know that Royal Mail and Post Office have said that they no longer require the County name on UK post as their systems don’t need it. I suggest that it is because Counties have changed or have been removed altogether over the years. It would also be a headache manually adding Counties to address post code file. I watched a video last year from a lady in the US who had similar but different problem. Her eBay account was shut down. She couldn’t get an answer as to why. Turns out she had not been asked for id when she flipped to business seller status. Also eBay and others have revised their policies globally taking into account local government stuff. This is why they probably go through all the records using some unartificial intelligence 🤔 sorry for rambling, continue d support as a previous customer.
It's also a hindrance when you have third world call centres! Used for the cheap labour! A major retailer used to have a call centre in each of its shops! Closed all them down, transferred the lot to Scotland, closed that down now in morrocco!!
Hi Nic and Andrea. Thank you for the update. I'm looking forward to the next 'episode' in this saga. Well done on getting the response you've managed so far, and your continued climb up the corporation's ladder. Here's to a successful call and corporate change!
no offense but do we all have to have a You Tube channel for ebay to actually take things seriously. "Call with Manager of the UK" how many people who have feedback get a call with them to express their opinions. Are you getting a call just for show, just so Ebay can get free advertising that they are trying to do something, when really...... are they ???
I have seen nothing in any of the recent updates that really address small seller concerns, but many updates for other areas eg Buyers , private sellers and large companies. All the feedback small seller give just seems to go into a black hole
The only bit of decent customer service I've had from them is ebay for business on Facebook, they seem to understand us as a small business. The online chat and phone is appalling. I love selling on ebay but after 18 years I'm considering taking the business somewhere else this year. Let's hope things change....
This whole story makes me very nervous to take the leap and sell on eBay full time . I currently do very well part time and want to develop the business further. Ebay has become so computer automated over the years , even the online chat staff are like robots. Removing defects for instance is impossible.... all the online staff now say is "go to the seller hub and request to remove the defect" this is a complete waste of time ... computer always says no. We as sellers cannot leave feedback for non payers, or awkward customers . The whole platform is tailored for the buyer it seems . At the start of 2024 I was really up for pushing to full time... this story as well as my own experiences recently have knocked my confidence to take the leap.
Don't bother ( I came late to Ebay as a seller 2022 great for 6months selling £150 to £200 a week ) then 1 item a week after that & since January 5th only 1 item, nothing for the last 2 months. I've got 20 items on ebay. Before Xmas I had 350 items on & kept getting emails of ebay saying I'm under performing, & threats of account under threat of closure. I took 330 items of ebay ( ad was moving house) & will be moving over to vinted as soon as I get more time available. Ebay is finished & a thieves paradise, sellers have no back up, & it's not worth the stress.
The only way they will learn is if people claim for loss of earnings, stress, time spent on the phone etc, if they have a system that is costly and damaging to business owners / partners then they should compensate, they cannot hide behind the failure of red tape system that doesn't work.
Hi Nic and Andrea... I liked your video about Ebay and you seems to be very good at selling online through Ebay... I have a business and interested in dealing with you if are looking to expand your business adventures... Looking forward to hearing from you... Thanks Nabeel
many eBay members don't know the new trick to getting an eBay agent on the phone, which is to use the Help & Contact chat-bot to request an AGENT callback... just keep saying AGENT until it says they will call you back, and then enter your phone number in place of the X's. but then more often than not you'll get someone from another country who keeps putting you on hold while they consult their flow-chart guide... but if you're lucky enough to get a rep from your country, they usually seem much more knowledgeable and human.
@Nic & Andrea grate you got it solved, there was a guy how reviewed the original video of yours and gave some good advice. but the old saying always is a 'Sorry' with no resolving the issue. it seems that Ebay have gone the centralization route and use machine to do the hard work.
Glad she actually phoned and you had an apology. Did you mention the foreign helpline as against having a UK one to deal with as hopefully it might be more beneficial. It drives me mad when I do manage to speak to someone and they thank me for being a loyal customer for 21 years. It just sounds false and doesn’t mean anything to them. Hope the chat with the UK Manager went well. Thanks for the update.
Searching for items on eBay has become such a pain. One of the worst things is all the multi-item listings - god knows why eBay ever allowed such nonsense in the first place.
Thank you for being so informative! I agree they need to give the same customer service that we give our buyers! Have a great day and I pray you get this resolved!
I’m still persevering with eBay, as we don’t really have an option here in Oz. All your points apply equally to my experiences tho. My avatar is my store name if you want to use my example🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing.
I bought a bottle of perfume (boxed) and the seller sent a bottle of lotion. They are refusing to refund me. eBay are making me wait 7 days before they get involved. eBay is not for buyers or sellers.
I have been on eBay for 9 years. Recently eBay has withhold $23000 for over 9 months now. I have tried everything . Call over 40 times and exceeded all options. Right now I lost my warehouse. Lighting and everything. M suing for damages
Ebay were finished when true feedback for sellers and buyers was stopped.
When you say finished, for sellers yes kinda, for business it grows year on year, and has never been bigger
Yes, the feedback system is a joke
Aww been watching this and the stress caused shocking 😮

Couldn't agree, more and we shouldn't be treated any differently to any other ebay seller... they need to improve their service and communication across the board for everybody
maybe you are the key to change :) @@NicHills
They need to apologize to EVERYONE who doesn't have your public profile. And explain what, specifically, they are going to change to improve. I have had many companies and government agencies admit that there were mistakes and they will "consider" feedback. Vague promises are worth nothing.
They won’t change I can guarantee that because they have a system to make it incredibly difficult to complain and to get a fair hearing.
RUclips is full of horror stories what people have experienced over the last 3 years and decided it’s just to much aggravation.
Just look at the amount of listings it has massively reduced that too me that eBay has massive problem
They are damaging there own reputation and brand.
I am in Australia
I purchased a product from a seller who I thought was in Victoria.
I have constantly complained to ebay about China being in the UK!
It is so annoying as a lot of goods are fake.
Yes absolutely I remember the days of them flooding listings with 1p auctions
PEOPLE ARE LEAVING BECAUSE THERE SICK AND TIRED OF THE HUGE LEVEL OF MISMANAGEMENT AND THE LACK OF COMMON SENSE
Yes we totally agree, and we said the same to them
Yup the squeakiest wheel gets the oil, tbh these phone calls are all lip service and if you think otherwise theyve succeeded in their task.
That is so true..I hope through this channel EBay will take notice of what’s going on and correct it
Yup, after 4 years of doing business with them I had to walk away also due to very similar circumstances -- Ebay is ran by algorithm's and not real people anymore - Unless they 'Need to' !..
@@cazzaa5012i am more than sure nothing will change. eBay hates sellers.
ebays business model: get sellers signed up, screw them hard, spit them out, get the next mug signed up. They dont care because there is a constant supply of sellers.
Ebay doesn't care, they are to big now. Sound like lip service to me and nothing will change.
That's awful...
Sorry to hear you were scammed by someone in my country! 😠Long ago? Did you do any research on this guy?
That sucks!
Exactly, and these are the points we are making...
OMG! I am in 100% agreement with you! How many times I've been told different answers to even the simplest questions!
Monkeys and peanuts come to mind.
Stop employing CHEAP people to run your business so you can maximise profits.. THATS IT, THATS ALL.
I’ve seen those videos too which makes me never want to be a reseller on eBay.
It's exactly why I don't
You seem two very nice, very reasonable, very much like the kind of people ebay should embrace. Having said that, ebay could well drive people to end it all as some people may be driven over the edge. I know that sounds melodramatic but it affected you two and luckily you had each other and your channel. It should be the case that they ask for information and you provide it. If after that they give substantial compensation to people where they delay or mess you about. It borders on criminal the way they have behaved. Nice ladies from Ireland apologising is just not good enough!
Yes, anything that affects our livelihood has a dramatic affect... we hope they can understand this
It is the same here in Australia. If it’s not in the “script” to read in front of them, they short-circuit and have no idea what to do…
Exactly! This is why they keep asking for more ridiculous paperwork, because they want to pretend they know what they're doing. They just keep you busy to win time in the hope 'someone else' will figure it out.
We've been here before....
Strikingly similar and no difference will be made.
eBay are absolutely wonderful at demoralising their eBay business sellers!! I have experienced it many times.
Yet continue to sell on there??
All future problems can be addressed to: Ebay, Knowledge Gap Department, London. W12 U7T.
Have you had resolutions from contacting them this way?
Also, can't believe just found Karl White, and Alex Mettrick videos. What a win, Seen them several times, great local acts
this is so similar to a friend of mines experience, he lost his and his wife's accounts after 20 plus years. No way of getting them back and he still does not know why! Well done on your efforts, the thing that worries me is would they have actually sorted the issue for you if you had not got the RUclips coverage showing up what a farce it was. Well done for that.
I agree - it shouldn't take a video like ours to make ebay sit up and take notice...
I don’t know how they’ve kept it together and still say they love selling on eBay. EBay don’t deserve them.
Lol ebay "are listening to you", yeah sure but it always goes out the other ear.
You are lovely people but nieve. You are now being listened too (because you have platform) . You get to air grievances, ebay admits they made an error, but what is not being mentioned is compensation. Ebay owe you.
If they get away without paying you compensation, then they win, and nothing will really change.
Thanks Nic you speak for all of us lets hope they sit up and take note this time look forward for the GM call get him on the channel
“You’re feedback is deffo been looked at”
In the bin looking upwards at the ceiling.
EBay don’t care
The 'member experience' would be improved drastically if they:
a) Had human beings viewing the documents they request
b) Had local-based (or at very least regional based) customer service representatives
c) Employed common sense and empathy, rather than reading from scripts
d) Follow through on their promises (calling customers back... resolving issues in a timely manner, etc.)
e) Made the process of submitting documentation customer-friendly
and
f) Didn't take advantage of the people who pay their wages... that's US, the Ebay Sellers!
You are doing a great service for many people... keep at them!
All we can do is share our experience and that of others within the small business community... and hope they want to take action
Ask them to set up a UK office!
They had one and its still in the uk. They moved to belgium.... why because corporation tax was less and vat was less. They didnt actually move it was just registered elsewhere.
@@pstanyer1they thought they could charge the tax man 10% plus vat and want 11% to then promote and get seen. So they had to leave 😂
Much better customer service experience.
on Amazon is not a big diffrence.
Yes but Amazon has the same problem. You have to show your US tax withholding status. That's a nightmare for partnerships because they don't seem to acknowledge any of the documents that are uploaded. I suspect they only deal with individuals or limited companies
I would seek legal advise and compensation for losses
That will go down well with eBay......
Any ebay business that meets certain thresholds should have a personal customer service rep that is knowledgeable and able to give hands on assistance. Seems like that would be a simple fix.
Ireland is great! I use eBay on Twitter and they are in Ireland.. usually solve my issues!
Thank you for speaking up for us all
Seems they are moving in the same direction as Amazon and we could all be here today & gone tomorrow !
Not used ebay for years, most 2nd hand goods I'm interested in always sell at almost retail price.
Can't trust buyers or sellers so many scammers.
Glad you got it sorted, makes me worried about going full time tho for sure
I posted 3 items yesterday tracked delivery.
Estimated payment date 15th March!
I need that £176 now.
Crazy
Yes I take your point and we have thought the same... thanks for reaching out
I just watched the original video about this, the first thing that came to mind was, I wondered if you still had the company details from the ebay manager / director who helped you when you had a problem with a switcharoo, ( The expensive car headlight that got sent back to you after the customer damaged it while fitting it) , it’s always useful keeping contact details so you can bypass the useless customer service agents.
And YT customer service is the same, both hence age restrictions and monetization requirements. You can't get hold on a human being.
Seen loads of similar situations to yours and ebay was all ears, nothings changed.
I'm leaving Ebay too. I took down over 400 listings today to prepare shut down.
Have followed your journey and frankly, I wanted to say thank you for doing this. It's for the benefit of all of us if you get somewhere and, I'm not sure if I would have your stamina. I'm sorry you have had to go through this ordeal you don't deserve it. The very best of luck.
We need a real competitor to ebay
I can believe that !
Yes
As an ex postie the correct way to read an address is from the bottom to the top
So good to have influential people like this to help deal with this.
AI is the future, not. How can you have a conversation and reason with a machine.
It's also a hindrance when you have third world call centres! Used for the cheap labour! A major retailer used to have a call centre in each of its shops! Closed all them down, transferred the lot to Scotland, closed that down now in morrocco!!
This video feels like deja vu. Weren't you guys in a similar postion a while ago?
I’m new but someone said it was ab a headlight
Thanks
Nabeel
Well they put your issue on fast track because you have 65.4K subscribers...it takes on average 3 - 4 weeks to resolve this issue
But it shouldn't take 3-4 weeks to confirm business details... this is the point
many eBay members don't know the new trick to getting an eBay agent on the phone, which is to use the Help & Contact chat-bot to request an AGENT callback... just keep saying AGENT until it says they will call you back, and then enter your phone number in place of the X's. but then more often than not you'll get someone from another country who keeps putting you on hold while they consult their flow-chart guide... but if you're lucky enough to get a rep from your country, they usually seem much more knowledgeable and human.
This always worked for me also do it during uk work hours so you get a European call centre not the American one
Thanks for the update.
apology is worthless. they should be compensating you.
Same situation like you guys,10 years seller, payouts on hold for one month
I’m still persevering with eBay, as we don’t really have an option here in Oz. All your points apply equally to my experiences tho. My avatar is my store name if you want to use my example🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing.
Can i just say "Horizon You the only one" springs to mind.
I bought a bottle of perfume (boxed) and the seller sent a bottle of lotion. They are refusing to refund me. eBay are making me wait 7 days before they get involved. eBay is not for buyers or sellers.
