What if CS:GO was sunnier? Valve has done a good job of making the existing maps feel more inviting to play on. But in this video, I go further still, giving the maps the bluest skies possible! Then some red ones near the end. Игры
This is basically what happened with the new lighting in CS2. Philip predicting the future as always.
Yeah looks pretty similar
The sun isn't real, its just infinite flashbangs going off in the skybox.
Especially on nuke lol
“If you think you’ll be offended by this sort of content, please do a full 360 and walk away”
That’s one way to keep everyone watching)
@@abolfdilter416 that’s how it works usually :D
one way asking to hit the monitor, full 360 crescent kick
wait isnt it a 180
@@abolfdilter416 what?
Unfortunately it's an established notoriety that Valve game fans have hatred and snobbery towards cosmetic/gameplay mods that are not total conversions, especially with reanimation mods and no-VR mod for HL Alyx.
But there is no sun on Nuke!! 🌞
I played nuke for 0.5 hours and 10.684 hours in mirage
Sadge
not until the c4 goes off anyway
ok
xd nadeking here with no comments
Hope Valve makes the map sunnier and adds a flare in place of the sun as in the thumbnail.
nobody replied but i like the flare suggestion ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@ABGH78 what kind of dispenser
Please no flare, that stuff in competitive games sucks. Lol
7:21, the realization that blizzard ripped off a cs map for ow.
Ok I now believe that Philip is an actual misunderstood hammer god, his techniques look like shitposts but are actually genius.
agree
he's a bored Hammer God
I rarely play CSGO as an adult now, I have no interest in doing any mapping myself, yet here I am, always enjoying the enthusiasm and effort Philip puts into his mapping-related videos. Love his energy
SPOILER ALERT:
It was all worth it just for that sky is the limit pun at the end..
*worth it*
worth
Can you edit the comment to not spoil it for new viewers? Ty.
Thanks for the spoiler
It made me want to down vote the video it was so bad.
It uses a unique particle system to generate the clouds
something i never noticed before
how interesting
*I immediately removed it*
God i love you phil
"I can still bring back cache's greenery"
*Brings back radioactive fog*
No not Chernobyl
Realistically tho, that would be awesome, but them it's not Uranium so no
"In just 3 clicks or so" lmfao never change man never change 🤣
3 kliks*
and the "do a 360", Phil really is a walking classic
blue sky militia makes me happy to look at; reminds me of all the fun days ive had out playing in the snow as a kid
exactly, same comfy atmosphere
New title: What if CS:GO was CS2
Philip already made CS2, he just didn’t know it.
I kinda liked this promotion stuff, even in it he didn't lose spine. way to go, philip!
We know how much our players enjoy being blinded so we made everything blue and put a giant sun in our game.
-Battlefield 3 developers, probably.
They could atleast remove the sun blinding. To compensate for the blue.
Anyways, they fixed it in Battlefield 4.
Mirage is just Dust 3 when you make it sunnier, phillip
9:40 bruh no just drop an skybox case, that's what I thought about yesterday, still waiting for a crosshair capsule too lmao
AHHHHHHH!
What is happening?
@@S4NSE Don't give them ideas!
We have gloves and operator skins. I wouldn't be shocked.
Oh my, i don't think i'll be able to sleep tonight
This is basically CS2 without HDR
You are my blue sky Philip. Also hope the music kit gets added.
@@itsuo163 It's gay month tho no homo
Would love to a starry nighted csgo map
9:13 I thought it was color correction that made the map look so nice
This is so freaking cool and really does make huge improvements to the maps!
I especially like the use of colors for moods.
Nuke having a pink horizon was very interesting. That made it feel more radioactive!
4:00 this color reminds me of Quake II and Quake III Arena maps! Good ol' memories!
Congratulations, you've basically made Counter Strike 2.
ah yes "full 360"
I hate skies so much I love them
Imma do two :v
Very cool concept, lots of possibilities. Well done Philip.
Pretty much no maps look worse with a blue sky. Even Monastery is beautiful
*1:00**, bro, after I do a 360 I found out I still looking at this video! lmao!!!!*
I love how you still use the clip where you run up the mountain lol
i never tire of your content. the delivery and sound design is so comforting to me.
Loved the choice of colours in the last example ;D
I like the reference to 360 and walk away :P. Reminds me philip is "old" too.
„Do a Full 360 and Walk away right now“
i thought nobody got the joke in the comments
Smashed like button for you Philip, hope you start getting the views you deserve
Loved all of the sky puns at the end, hopefully we see this as a feature soon™
1:06 a certain esports journalist might be offended because his speciality is getting mad at insults when there are none.
I love your technique for creating skies! It reminds me of something I tried years ago with the black material and black fog to create an intentionally surreal and eerie night map.
Fun color theory fact time: daytime shadows are blue because sunlight, when it reaches the surface, is slightly yellow! This is for the same reason that the sky is blue; the atmosphere is scattering a little bit of the blue light, which means the light that does get through all the way is slightly less blue. As a general rule, all shadows are complementary to the color of their light source, although this gets complicated in real life due to factors like the color of the object casting the shadow, the color of the surface the shadow is being cast on, and light bouncing off of nearby surfaces, directly illuminating the shadow. Shadows are positively rich with color!
Sadly a lot of this gets lost in digital photography and video, so the best way to study it is with real life observation. Try casting tinted lights on a beach ball in a dark room! You might be surprised by how much there is to see.
sky turns red at 9:30
thought philip was about to drop an elden ring reference lol
I love your approach to your work, you are so scientific, and curious. I wish everyone was like this. :') and I really appreciate your work. every research you do for making video, is super high level, and your hard work is visible.
"please do a full 360" and walk away right now", even though you'll keep moving in the direction you've been walking
that's the joke
congrats to 1M subs, i wish u many luck man
Now we need 69 million
7:41 "Valve pls break" 😂😂😂👍
Its crazy how much light does even in games, your overhauled lighting makes the whole map look much better over all
imagine how well a redish-orange sky could work with a volcano themed map
also on the overpass long/fountain/playground area comparison, a big wood brush appears on the floor, did anyone else notice that?
@ Just Some Guy without a Mustache oh yeah a wildfire would also work great
Hey, I already wrote this under your klicksphilip video, but maybe you will see it here: What do you think about a video about the most balanced bombsite? Like compare no bomb planted, times planted and defused or detonated for each bombsites. I dont know if there are informations available but I think it might be an interesting video :)
warowl has a little segment deditaced to this in his lastest video about his mapping adventures
Funnily enough I noticed the bright blue sky in Dust 2 on your previous video, but just accepted it as reality and thought to myself, "I can't believe I forgot how bright the sky is in Dust 2!" I've got a feeling a lot of people just accepted it as fact as well.
I love how the sunnier and brighter colors looks, it really makes the maps stand out!
Monastery actually looks really good like that.
"I'm afraid I blue myself" - philip probably.
I've never thought about making maps sunnier but i always liked to see night versions. It adds a nice twist to every map.
I don't know anything about mapping but I always love seeing such a creative solution to a problem like this
this aged well
Hey, just wanted to let you know that uploading more than one video per day is suicide for the algorithm.
Or at least 3 at the exact same time of they were separated by 9 hours or something it won't be as bad
the blue sky is really addicting as you said...I used to enjoy inferno and nuke more than any other map because of how inviting it felt to me, so I think I have always been a fan of (maybe too) blue skies
Man. You’re freaking crazy. Keep it up.
I like inferno from cscz , it was night at the map
Cscz was a whole vibe.
I have always had a huge problem with how dark, gritty, gray and bland the maps in CSGO look. Nuke and inferno are the exceptions.
This actually fixes so much of the issue for me! Although maybe a little bit overboard at times, but still.
I want people like you working on games I play... the amount of dedication is incredible.
Love ya Philly Boy keep up the great work, proud of ya
the cs2 experience
“Wait until nighttime and you’ll see.”
Looking back at this video, something tells me Valve kept this in mind during the development of CS2 especially Overpass having somewhat a bluer sky now
nice, this is good content, needed more vids of you running around ingame tho.
4:35 there is blue, there is bright blue and than there is Source 2
cs2 leak
Wow, that first mirage actually looks more realistic with that super blue sky. Impressive!
i would pay for the ability to change the skybox lmao
youre a god philip, love you
9:51 bisexual dust 2
Bro made cs2 a year ago
red/purple colored skies look really cool
Congratulations on 1M subscribers!
The quality of these videos are insane. Thanks Philip, you are our blue sky
I love your enthusiasm about graphics
I could definitely seeing Valve doing something like this for Halloween or some other similar timed event. Neat stuff!
A lot of people don't realise how important the sky box is, it's usually 50% of the screen in most games. It's the first thing I notice in games with very good graphics like RDR2
wow, this is really interesting stuff! amazing to see how much new bluer skies help make the game look better!
I JUST NOTICED THIS CHANNEL HAS OVER 1 MILLION SUBS! Congrats!!
Orange-pink nuke looks so amazing dude.
Man, I love your videos
I think maps should have a lore behind the ct countdown timer, for example, mirage having a sandstorm that ravages the map once the T side fails to plant but the sandstorm can freeze before it reaches the map incase Ts plant within the final seconds, then the sandstorm would activate just before the bomb explodes.
The blue-sky Dust 2 in the other video, I figured it was just color correction done on the video itself; not a change to the map.
PLEASE EXPERIMENT MORE WITH THIS I AM FASCINATED
It makes the maps so much better looking, thats insane. But i feel like it would be more fatiguing on the brain and also distract from gameplay. Gotta love the colour tho, good job!
For me this video feels just like "Before and after I turn on my increased contrasts" xD
Still a very cool video, and the idea with the fog thingy you talked about sounds really cool but... for me all maps look as bright as your reworks do. :D
Very big fan of this blue sky you made
on some maps it actually helps visibility alot suprisingly, I didn't really think about how much the skybox can change the visual appeal along with small tactical elements in csgo
"Do a full 360 and walk away" XD brilliant
he literally pushed the sky up for us. best youtuber ever
That pun at the end.
Yo that last idea fire
OMG THE VIDEO WITH DUST 2 WHEN I SAW THE BLUE SKY I WAS LIKE, bro no way they have changed the sky box,it looks so cool, but when i went in nothing was changed.
What you're doing here is what in game engines is known as a procedural sky, where you can define colors of the zenith, horizon etc and have a smooth gradient between them. There's also physically based sky shaders that use the sun direction to simulate atmosphere's colors and gradients to create an accurate look of anything between sunset and noon.
Skins for maps! Can't wait!
I did actually notice the bluer dust 2 skies in your previous video
I love how it looks
Congrats on a million subscribers
Finally that flare in your thumbnail makes sense :D
Great timing 👌
1:08 actually true for me, I only play maps with good sunlight
