Umph tears it up live.....The studio stuff is good, but pales in comparison to the same stuff live. The band takes all songs they do to another level when performing them live. I have seen many bands and have been going to concerts for decades....yes I'm an old fart. These guys in the top 10 all time great live shows in my book. Don't hate me for not saying they are #1...I was lucky enough to see Jimi Hendrix yrs ago, just to give you a perspective of where I'm comming from with my praise.
as far as studio goes, i really prefer pre-safety in numbers UM, although mantis did grow on me. Don't get me wrong, these guys are by far my favorite 3rd gen jam band and they continue to crush every live set they play, they just started to get a little out there on their studio tracks
@PapaGeorgio89 I gotta disagree. I love their subtle change in their studio material. I love the diversity of it. Why do jam bands have to stay in the typical cookie cutter jam box? Maybe I'm just a little jaded, but I hate it when a band catches hell for recording a few tracks that are outside of their wheelhouse.
ive got all cds of them they are so great really great musicans erveryone of them is a pro
love the guitars
I find myself listening to this record more than all the others ( musical bliss at full volume )
Awesome energy here! :)
