Lol yes, I was time travelling to do the infinite nook miles trick and my mom sent me a lot of cakes (For those who don't know, you can get infinite nook miles by changing the date to January 1st and going to the ATM to get a 500 miles bonus)
This can't possibly be true...I currently have three jocks on my island. Three. And my visitors the past two times have been jocks. I'm beginning to think my island is just a jock magnet or something.
Fun fact: The campsite actually has a repeating system, so you always get a villager once, once every villager visits your campsite, it repeats, villagers that have been in your town will not go to your campsite, so you always have a chance of getting that one villager!
I was so sad that Resetti seemed to not be making a return this time around, but after seeing tricks like this I couldn't be more grateful that he's decided to stay in his hole where he belongs
I had no idea! I've yet to have an interaction with the rescue service so I didn't realize Resetti was working there this time around. Very glad he still has a job. :)

Thank you for being kind to those players who do time travel. It's a bit sad to see some youtubers call those who play the game differently scum, when it doesn't even affect their gameplay.
I'm not one for excessive time travel, but the game should be played in whatever way best suits your personality and play style! I chose to avoid time travel for most circumstances but that doesnt make my playstyle anymore valid than yours! By that perception using nookazon would be "cheating" too because you can get items you want right away too!

If I remembered a name, I'd tell you but I remember it was a tutorial video at least. This was when the game first came out. Was excited to learn and when the dude said it, I immediately clicked off.
I didn't time travel at all until AFTER I unlocked terraforming, only because I wanted to do all the tasks the way it was intended, my choice. Once that was out of the way, there is no reason to NOT time travel. This game has over 1000 items, in one week I get sometimes 3 or 4 days worth of duplicates (furni, diy, etc) and sorry but there are items I REALLY want and need. Even though I chose not to TT at the beginning, I really don't see why it's such a big deal. Plus, in terms of events TT doesn't work, so it's not like any of us are gaining or losing from it.

Nah! I enjoy not time traveling. It makes it more special to get villagers. I did do the reset method to get Gaston to replace Hamlet. That took a while. Maybe like 30 mins. But now I get to sing the praises of Gaston... "Noooo onnnnne fights like Gaston, no one can eat cheese like Gaston, no one likes to attract all the fleas like Gaston."

You’re just having bad luck. Keep going, and eventually it’ll work. It took me about 3 hours total to find the villager I was looking for, and I only got about 15 (give or take) campsite villagers in that time. If you get really lucky, you’ll have a campsite villager every time you boot up the game. It’s just a really time-consuming process.
If you don’t care who’s moving in, this sounds like a better way to kick out a specific villager than traveling all the time to pass the thinking bubble 🤔
I am so mad because I got Marshal in my campsite and I really want to keep him but I was looking for Raymond and if I keep Marshal it’ll be even harder to get Raymond :,( Update: I decided to just keep Marshal and continue to look for Raymond A month later: I spent 51 NMTS and I ended up finding Raymond!!!

this DOES WORK! it just took me roughly over 57 campsite visitors and nearly took 15+ hours of grinding to get Raymond... not the best but it was so worth it and saved me a lot of nook miles

Yeah... this doesn't seem to work for me? I haven't time traveled at all but I had 2 peppy villagers already and my campsite kept bringing in peppy villagers only. Now I have 3 peppy villagers that I like but they won't bring me any other personalities.
It does say it’s a 40% chance you will get one of the villager types you already have. It’s only really effective if you are only missing 1 type. For example, if you have 10 sporty villagers then you have a 60% chance of getting one of the other villager types and a whopping 40% chance of getting another sporty type (which is higher than any other type individually)
Before I realized I can pick and choose I invited everyone I encountered...how did I end up with Keaton, Amelia, Sterling, Avery, Buzz and Apollo?? I managed to get Truffles out excited to finally choose. First island was Frank..left him...second island was Pierce...that's when it dawned on me there are so many other animals why TF do i keep getting Eagles?? So Ill just go the full 9 at this point with my main man Lyman.

Ok this method 100% works, my very first try i got Raymond!!! Keep in mind I have every other personality type. I skipped 6 days, no visitor. I skipped one more day and Raymond was in my campsite! Tysm!!
I have peanut in my island, and her dialogue whenever you talk to her while she's crafting is so adorable! She keeps on referencing a TV show she loves to watch even if she doesn't have a TV set in her house haha.
I didnt even know this existed, and I did not have anywhere near 10 villagers, but the first visitor I got at my campsite, was Raymond. And I though- "oh cool a cute cat person, why dont you live with me?" And I didnt even realise how badly people wanted raymond and how lucky I was. Lol And whats funny is not only am I really lucky, but everytime I run into him doing his DIY project thing, he always gives me a golden one! Tell me if that is rare, or if it's just a random thing raymond does.
that exact same thing happened to me! lol i was on a mystery island during my villager recruiting phase and low and behold, raymond was literally the second villager i ran into lol
Here's how I do it! (I time-travel.) 1. Kick out all villagers with the personality you want (ex. You want Raymond? Kick out all smug villagers.) 2. TT 10 days (I find a campsite villagers mostly every 10 days) 3. Have fun hunting! I got Raymond and Audie from this method! Hope it helps.

Let’s say if you skip ahead 6 days from now and a villager appeared in the campsite and it wasn’t the one you wanted, can you go back to the original date and skip ahead until you get a villager visiting the camp again ? Or do you always have to be skipping ahead of time for this to work?
Yes you can go backwards to your original starting day and then forwards again. That’s the way I’ve been doing it. Of course the villager won’t appear on the exact same date as before, but this beats continually going forward.
@@morgansabatini1889 in the process of kicking out my villager i found a campsite day and everytime i went back in time to go forward, itd refresh with a new campsite person, you can just go back and forth however in the game time is like a circle, so the game still registers it as if youre moving forward
Exactly. Just keep talking to them, and they’ll give in eventually. I had to talk to Raymond for about ten minutes before he wanted to move in. Even if you lose the card game, just keep talking to them.
Also I was 100% against time traveling when the game first came out, but not even kidding, it feels like time traveling is required to even progress a little in this game
@@TagBackTv That's not exactly true. The fact the game reacts to system time changes is normal since it's designed to follow it. I time travelled in New Leaf via the in game time changer and I don't care how people play their game. But in New Leaf if you time travelled, things like turnip prices would never get high value in your town and you wouldn't get monthly bell interest. Considering these clues and the fact they removed time changing from the game itself this time (I'd even argue they removed events and features to prevent time travellers from unlocking everything right away), saying the developers support it is misleading. Play however you want as long as you're not ruining it for someone else. That's all.
I can also confirm this works! Raymond was my 33rd smug out of 34. He was my 69th villager that I saw in the campsite. I was missing 2 personalities (Uchi and Smug) until I picked up an Uchi villager at around my 52nd campsite villager. I also did not run into a single duplicate villager. Took me about 12 hours though fml.
@@sivartee hey! I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I ended up going forward about 3 years in time. After I made sure Raymond moved in completely (invite him to camp, skip forward one day to kick out old villager, skip another day til his house is on my island), then I changed back my time to present time. But I did not go back in time during the entire process, only at the very end when I was done.
I got Raymond in my campsite a while back, and....and I know I’m going to get stormed for this... I didn’t want him, so I just let him be. Meanwhile, Dobie came by the next week and I literally kicked out a villager to make room for him. He’s been one of my favorite neighbors ever since :) he actually reminds of my grandpa.
It's perfectly ok if you don't like Raymond! Raymond is ok for me, but not the best in my opinion. You shouldn't worry about you getting stormed for people who... Let's say... "Worship" Raymond, and that you should do what you want to do.

Nah! I enjoy not time traveling. It makes it more special to get villagers. I did do the reset method to get Gaston to replace Hamlet. That took a while. Maybe like 30 mins. You’re just having bad luck. Keep going, and eventually it’ll work. It took me about 3 hours total to find the villager I was looking for, and I only got about 15 (give or take) campsite villagers in that time. If you get really lucky, you’ll have a campsite villager every time you boot up the game. It’s just a really time-consuming process.

this DOES WORK! it just took me roughly over 57 campsite visitors and nearly took 15+ hours of grinding to get Raymond... not the best but it was so worth it and saved me a lot of nook miles

It does say it’s a 40% chance you will get one of the villager types you already have. It’s only really effective if you are only missing 1 type.
For example, if you have 10 sporty villagers then you have a 60% chance of getting one of the other villager types and a whopping 40% chance of getting another sporty type (which is higher than any other type individually)

Before I realized I can pick and choose I invited everyone I encountered...how did I end up with Keaton, Amelia, Sterling, Avery, Buzz and Apollo?? I managed to get Truffles out excited to finally choose. First island was Frank..left him...second island was Pierce...that's when it dawned on me there are so many other animals why TF do i keep getting Eagles?? I have peanut in my island, and her dialogue whenever you talk to her while she's crafting is so adorable! She keeps on referencing a TV show she loves to watch even if she doesn't have a TV set in her house haha.
I didnt even know this existed, and I did not have anywhere near 10 villagers, but the first visitor I got at my campsite, was Raymond. And I though- "oh cool a cute cat person, why dont you live with me?" And I didnt even realise how badly people wanted raymond and how lucky I was. Lol
And whats funny is not only am I really lucky, but everytime I run into him doing his DIY project thing, he always gives me a golden one! Tell me if that is rare, or if it's just a random thing raymond does.

Here's how I do it! (I time-travel.) 1. Kick out all villagers with the personality you want (ex. You want Raymond? Kick out all smug villagers.) 2. TT 10 days (I find a campsite villagers mostly every 10 days) 3. Have fun hunting! I got Raymond and Audie from this method! Hope it helps.
But what if you want two peppy types? I have Flora and I want to keep her but I also want Audie :(

Let’s say if you skip ahead 6 days from now and a villager appeared in the campsite and it wasn’t the one you wanted, can you go back to the original date and skip ahead until you get a villager visiting the camp again ? Or do you always have to be skipping ahead of time for this to work?
I hope it’ll work that way. I’d hate to be going forward a week every time trying to find the villager I want. You’ll be time traveling into next year
Yes you can go backwards to your original starting day and then forwards again. That’s the way I’ve been doing it. Of course the villager won’t appear on the exact same date as before, but this beats continually going forward.
if a villager spawns on a specific day there will never be another campsite villager on that date in that year again
@@morgansabatini1889 in the process of kicking out my villager i found a campsite day and everytime i went back in time to go forward, itd refresh with a new campsite person, you can just go back and forth however in the game time is like a circle, so the game still registers it as if youre moving forward

Exactly. Just keep talking to them, and they’ll give in eventually. I had to talk to Raymond for about ten minutes before he wanted to move in. Even if you lose the card game, just keep talking to them.
Also I was 100% against time traveling when the game first came out, but not even kidding, it feels like time traveling is required to even progress a little in this game
Even the devs support time traveling, its why it been every game for 20 years lol
I feel like the game is designed to give you the option for a slow burn or to progress like you normally would expect, which is nice
@@TagBackTv That's not exactly true. The fact the game reacts to system time changes is normal since it's designed to follow it. I time travelled in New Leaf via the in game time changer and I don't care how people play their game. But in New Leaf if you time travelled, things like turnip prices would never get high value in your town and you wouldn't get monthly bell interest. Considering these clues and the fact they removed time changing from the game itself this time (I'd even argue they removed events and features to prevent time travellers from unlocking everything right away), saying the developers support it is misleading. Play however you want as long as you're not ruining it for someone else. That's all.

I can also confirm this works! Raymond was my 33rd smug out of 34. He was my 69th villager that I saw in the campsite. I was missing 2 personalities (Uchi and Smug) until I picked up an Uchi villager at around my 52nd campsite villager. I also did not run into a single duplicate villager.
Took me about 12 hours though fml.
@@sivartee hey! I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I ended up going forward about 3 years in time. After I made sure Raymond moved in completely (invite him to camp, skip forward one day to kick out old villager, skip another day til his house is on my island), then I changed back my time to present time. But I did not go back in time during the entire process, only at the very end when I was done.

I got Raymond in my campsite a while back, and....and I know I’m going to get stormed for this... I didn’t want him, so I just let him be. Meanwhile, Dobie came by the next week and I literally kicked out a villager to make room for him. He’s been one of my favorite neighbors ever since :) he actually reminds of my grandpa.
It's perfectly ok if you don't like Raymond! Raymond is ok for me, but not the best in my opinion. You shouldn't worry about you getting stormed for people who... Let's say... "Worship" Raymond, and that you should do what you want to do.
