FAKE TIMELAPSE Using Blender VFX | "Hanging Pumpkin" Growing

This weekend, I created this "hanging pumpkin" growth time lapse from some simple drone footage using Blender and After Effects. Why is it a hanging pumpkin and not a regular one, you ask? Is it an alien pumpkin? A new, previously undiscovered species of pumpkin? Did I just forget how pumpkins grow when I was designing this in just 2 days? Who knows!
Much of the project involved compositing in some custom shadows, color changes, and even some rain. Turning regular footage into time lapse footage is not easy! Simulating sunlight coming from different directions in a live action shot can be tricky. Try to shoot your footage on an overcast day, so you don't need to deal with any harsh lighting in your original footage before you even begin. A nice, diffuse base will help a lot.
