Our EV6 has been great. The Hyundai has a taller cargo area though. Not as many charging USB C ports. The KIA has them in the verticals of the seats. They Supercharge the devices. Congrats. Get a paint treatment if you can from the start. Ceramic Coating
I'm disappointed the highest trim, Limited in the USA does NOT receive the V2L adapter. Hyundai advertises it heavily and it's not included. However the Kia EV6 gets one. Dealers are charging $500-$600 for the adapter, this is ridiculous.
hello am i correct to assume that the voltage for both ports (internal n external) are set according to which market the model is for? North America = 110V Rest of world = 240V? why not have them able to be user selecteable?
This paired with the Eco flow delta 3 pro 3 would be amazing for power outages.. I would toss my generator. The ecoflow only has a 4kw battery but the inverter can output 8kw at 220v. So you plug the ecoflow into a transfer switch then plug car into the ecoflow and it keeps it topped off without needing a huge draw on the Ioniq5 when the well pump kicks on.
Hi eric My son ordered in end of December and he can’t wait to have lt Hes lucky my wife work at the dealer so he can have extra for free 🤣 It a amazing car
Great feature. It worked for me, but now the internal one only ever shows the blue standby light, no power, and no messages. When vehicle is on (in park) or in utility mode. I've been over the manual for 30 minutes and there is absolutely no description of what that means or how to make it turn green (supply power).
@@spommai9 kind of. I took the car in for maintenance and they replaced the plug, so it works somewhat better. The problem is almost gone for 3-prong plugs, but 2-prong still needs extra pressure to work (so an adapter should help). In any case, I'm very interested in your fix or workaround.
@Larry West the only way i found is to plug in the external v2l adapter on press the "on" button. It switches the inside socket to green and works. Not very useful to use while driving. Talking to the dealer to find a fix. Glad to hear that replacing your unit resolved the issue
I’ve experienced the same issue and it seems like the only people who don’t experience this issue are people who don’t use it. They are kind of working this backwards. Clearly since it works when you have the V2L external plug in then this issue is related to software and not hardware. They don’t even know this issue exsists so let’s help each other out and demand for a software update that allows us to manually turn the car into V2L mode. They say “take it to one of our specialist”. However they only have a clue about hardware in terms of software where the problem actually is they have not seen enough reports to do something about it.
Canada has 2 versions: RWD or AWD. From those 2 versions you can have with or without the "Ultimate package". Only thr cars with the Ultimate Package have the inside port
I’ve tried getting confirmation from Hyundai USA for this and they didn’t reply. I believe the specs for US models mentions a peak transfer rate of 1.9kW, but I’ve seen 3.4kW mentioned previously.
@@Kryotek7 3.4kw might be for EU models that are on 240 volts. looks like 15ish amps might be the limit. that is too bad. A 240volt option would be awesome.
@@kellyheath8547 yeah, it’s really hard to work out US specs still. I’m meeting with my local Hyundai dealer to reserve a vehicle in a couple of hours but so far they don’t seem to have much info. Their online configurator is still missing a lot of basic info like options. It doesn’t say if any of the lower trims have V2L as an option, like other countries do.
@@kellyheath8547 yeah, the sales people know nothing about it. I hope that Hyundai at least has provided them a pdf or equivalent of the build options especially as they’re getting them delivered in 4 weeks, I’m expecting them to just have the Mulroney for each vehicle though and having to work it out myself.
15amps of 120. I guess you can charge your car at EA and then mine for a day and a half. So, what?...$10 of bitcoin for 30 minutes of charging. My time is worth more than that.
An EV Is a big battery on wheels with enough power to drive two hundred miles. What is wrong with using some of that power for other uses, such as the appliances in your house using cheap off-peak electricity? On a large scale, it would address many of the issues of storage and distribution of renewables. The technology is already there, but it would need the cooperation of manufacturers and authorities.
Just got a call today from Hyundai concierge letting me know that my reserved car should arrive in January. So excited for the Ionic 5!
But do you know the price yet?

But the highest trim gets the under seat outlet, which no other trim gets. One of the main things I miss with getting the SEL
Hi Hyundai! Thanks for offering this amazing feature! Will this be available for the 39k base model Ioniq5? Thanks!
Can you please show a video on opening the charge port on the connector. I cannot get mine off to plug in device.
Very interesting video! V2L is getting more popular, and it's especially useful and convenient now that power outages are at an all-time high.

Because 120 and 240 are two different plugs in the US. They could do it by simply including a second adapter with a 240v outlet tho

Did you find a way how to open that socket, any key?

Does anybody know how to open the interior V2L socket cover in the back seat? There is no key to open its cover? How did you manage to open it?
Hey, using your smart key, there's a little tab which reveals a metal key, you can use that, though, I think it just rotates with anything:)

It works while the car is moving.
The inside not outside
where's the i20N and the Bayon?
Will the V2L work on the Tucson phev????
The vehicle must have the feature. PHEV have small batteries and do not offer V2L. Check owner’s manual for vehicle features.

V2l hyundai, how many watts
what is the current limit of V2L
