Thanks for the great analysis from the Nevada perspective.. If you end up staying in the MWC, just work to make your situation and conference better. That's the advice I gave to distraught Cincinnati fans 10 years ago, and now they're in the Big XII.
UNLV fan here...i was shocked at the move...but as an after thought...you're right nevada hasn't got the facilities so far...but our rivalry is pretty special....but i think with the facilities UNLV has ...whats ur opinion of UNLV going to the BIG 12....we've seen UNLV being able to compete with HOUSTON and KANSAS in football and defeat them...but I would definately want our rivalry to stay
I never say never. But taking on another G5 is highly improbable. The Conference would have to pay for it, because it is not in the escalator clause in our Media Contract.
I don't think this was a fly by the seat of your pants move at all. This was the contingency plan in the event the MWC scheduling alliance fell through. There is always going to be hurt feelings in realignment. The MWC is known for the Airport 6 meeting so it's familiar with leaving others behind.
This here: If done right the new PAC will incorporate the 2 most football crazy regions in the country: the South and the Mountain west. Memphis and Tulane UTSA and Rice Utah State and Wyoming South Florida and Southern Miss UConn and Georgia State 16
It’s been a huge black eye for Nevada that they can’t even get into a Mountain West Conference championship game. They are very poor performers on the Football field.

This is the most intelligent take that I’ve seen regarding the entire situation. It’s refreshing to see a well thought out and measured analysis.
Agree, very good
This is not the Pac 12, it is 4 MWC Schools +2.

What happens when a Boise state or Oregon State school gets a call up to the Big 12? Pac12 would not be all that desirable at that point.
Eventually, it is going to be two big leagues. Big 10 and SEC.
