Boise fan here. As cocky as he’s been, I love Choate. Very thankful for his contributions to Boise back in the day. I hope he gets the resources he needs to start building Nevada into a legit team! That said, this is not that year where it all falls into place. Boise by 30+

Chaote will 100% turn the Nevada program around if he is given the proper support by the university, and I say this as a Boise State fan. Boise definitely made the wrong decision choosing Andy Avalos over Choate after the departure of Bryan Harsin.

I hope they give you the latitude to develop this program to the next level, coach. You are the right guy to get it done.

This guy is a stud and Nevada is going to be very good under his leadership in a few years if they are smart enough to stick with him. Reminds me of Dan Campbell.

Very well spoken, honest, and genuine coach. If Nevada gives Choate the support he demands, he will likely turn that program around. If the college and community don't provide that support, he won't stick around long enough for that to happen.

Thanks for the great analysis from the Nevada perspective.. If you end up staying in the MWC, just work to make your situation and conference better. That's the advice I gave to distraught Cincinnati fans 10 years ago, and now they're in the Big XII.

It’s been a huge black eye for Nevada that they can’t even get into a Mountain West Conference championship game. They are very poor performers on the Football field.

UNLV fan here...i was shocked at the move...but as an after thought...you're right nevada hasn't got the facilities so far...but our rivalry is pretty special....but i think with the facilities UNLV has ...whats ur opinion of UNLV going to the BIG 12....we've seen UNLV being able to compete with HOUSTON and KANSAS in football and defeat them...but I would definately want our rivalry to stay

I don't think this was a fly by the seat of your pants move at all. This was the contingency plan in the event the MWC scheduling alliance fell through. There is always going to be hurt feelings in realignment. The MWC is known for the Airport 6 meeting so it's familiar with leaving others behind.
