I have a 30 year old Celica 5th gen ST182 GTI. Everything still works. Nothing is broken. I tell a lie, I broke the tiny bulb for the interior light. It had been there for 30 years and I broke it. Damn it!
I brought this car awhile back and completed all the work sold it on after completed and I belive it was brought back by the original owner x lovely 😍 enjoy
Didn't want to name you in the video but yes this is correct. Current owner loves it and is keeping it minter than mint. Would really appreciate if you could share the video in any good Toyota groups.
@@coopsterzzz Thanks so much, just trying to get the word out there to keep it growing so appreciate the help. Who knows, there may even be an MR2 and a boxy Starlet in the works in a few weeks.
I can guarantee that the drivers door arm rest will be broken! I had one...loved it...In fact, now Im 50, I want another one. The GT is in no way fast...not at all, but I love it. The GT4 though is awesome.
Great car.. I had a few of them, st205 gt4 which I regrettably sold 2 year ago and an Ss3, had the previous st185 also in Carlos sainz edition gt4, looks to be a mint example, getting rare glws
I've only, come across your channel today, John & have watched a few of your car reviews back-to-back & I like your relaxed but HONEST feedback!! I'm only GUESSING that "ST" stands for "Sports Touring"...
Yes as far as I know that's what it stands for. Glad you've enjoyed the channel. I don't take myself too seriously so it's hopefully enjoyable to watch. Lots more videos coming so make sure you're subscribed and share the channel to anyone else you think might enjoy it. Thank you 😊
@@irish-thinker4429 they're lovely, any of them, basic to GT4 and everything in between. Lovely honest cars. Look after the one you have, they've come of age.
I had my gt one 12 years ago ,you could pick one up for less than a grand back then ,if I knew then what I know now I'd have filled my yard with them ,
I got one 96 Celica, just put a paint job, new rims and tyres. Since is a right hand drive sometimes is not easy to find parts but i am planning to keep this car as far as I can. drives great and is cheap to maintain. if anyone have a link for parts in the US for these kind of cars please send it to me.
di ni ni ni ni ni ni 😅 I have a 95 Japanese import gt for 23 years I'll never sell I had to replace 1 gear box and 2 clutches probably because I drive the shit out of it
I've had my st202 3ge engine for 15 years- great little car and they really drive well and bring a smile!

Another great review, always liked these cars, the Honda Prelude were lovely as well. Keep the videos commi g John.
Thanks so much Cormac. God, its been years since I drove a good original Prelude.......if anyone could help with that I'd gladly feature it

These cars have gotten better looking with time, reminds me of my old Supra. Still too down on power for me but I do like them.
The GT Four is something that should help with the power aspect.
Great video and a really nice car 👍🏻 also with the 90s Japanese cars it’s actually the “boy racers” that drive the prices up usually
Those "boys racers" have grown up now and have cash

This is not a st202, just at200. 😉 The st202 has a 3s-ge engine and the at200 has a 7a-fe.
di ni ni ni ni ni ni I love the limiter noise on the 205gt
Good honest and entertaining review of the car , 👌
Thanks Joe, glad you liked it. More to come
Great video!
Thanks Gavin
I have had my Gen 6 convertible near 7 yrs now and a great car to drive esp for long drives as I took mine to france
Very comfortable I found
@@JohnsGarageIreland No roof issue on mine, they are just old school and analog driving even mine has a video review on YT
They're a simple enough car really
I have a 1998 ss3 in the shed , haven't seen one for sale in a while
Mine is running perfect needs a few small bits
Are they worth anything now ?
I'd say its worth a nice wedge, I'm happy to offer €500 and have it gone before breakfast tomorrow 😁😁😉
@@JohnsGarageIreland ha ha , your missing a zero 🤣 I had a 1994 2 litre gt model ,there are a great car ,

Is the ST202 FWD?
yes
S = engine & T is the chassis/platform fwd celica
Thanks very much for that, does the T therefore indicate its a lift back or is it specifically for the chassis
@@JohnsGarageIreland its the chassis, the older rwd were A chassis like ta23 2t engine A chassis yours is a 3sge or 3sfe engine
@@TheThebigredfella Brilliant, thanks for that. I had spotted the older ones were designated AT so that all makes sense now.
@@JohnsGarageIreland glad to help i got my 1st celica ta22 in 1982 im now have no 12 & 13 a 1976 ta23 & 1993 st182!
