*No, the Carbon and Monoxide verse never was about Suicide thoughts* it was just BIG CITY Living, you had fumes galore back in the day, so he was saying I am going to stay in the Big City where all the ladies are, BUT....then he said but they could never be what YOU WAS TO ME.........Shes gone. Most people catch a hint of desperation/suicidal thoughts, but it was just describing Big City living at the time with all the smog and fumes. So, staying un the city where the ladies were meant breathing fumes. Just a fact of life in the 70s.
NO not suicide, "stay in the CITY, let the carbon monoxide choke my thoughts away" (The CITY traffic)... please in this day and age do not get this song lumped in with that type of hype. So, just found you a few days ago and I really like your channel!!! Keep up the excellent work!
She’s Gone was our introduction to Hall and Oats! In their 70’s, they are still touring and still fabulous! You would also enjoy anything from the series “Live from Daryl’s House”…
"She's Gone" was released in 1973 and was not a big hit.. it only reached #60. However, in 1975 after "Sara Smile" became a hit, they re-released it and it went to #7. I feel it's one of their best songs.
A great Hall & Oates song to do next would be "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)." And if you want to hear more of John Oates' vocals (Daryl Hall is usually lead) check out their cover of the Righteous Brothers classic "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."
I got the chance to apologize to my ex husband for any pain I cause him by leaving (although he had 5 affairs and was verbally and emotionally abusive). I'm glad I did. He passed away 10 years later, and his fate was not in my hands, but my heart was eased by the apology. My kids appreciated it too, but they only found out about it years later.
If you're a man you've been in the position the guy in the song is at that moment. This cut is the bad end of "Sara Smile" after a long relationship goes bad. Now give a listen to these guys to "I Can't Go For That", "One On One", "Rich Girl", and "Out Of Touch". America's greatest blue eyed soul duo. For more great blue eyed soul listen to The Young Rascals doing "Lonely Too Long", "Groovin' ", "A Girl Like You", and "Good Lovin' ".
@@stevechristy3244 Really? I had the pleasure of seeing The Righteous Brothers not once, but twice in the early 60's. How many hits did they have? How many songs do they have that you like? When it comes to hit songs there is no comparison. What for me is the topper? Hall and Oates wrote all of their big hits and the overwhelming majority of their songs. They also played their own instruments on their songs. In truth, Hall and Oates win the GOAT conversation in a landslide.
If Billy Joel and Hall And Oates formed a band, I think it would sound like "Reminiscing" by the Little River Band, I hope you get the chance to react to this song.
When I saw this I knew you would love this song. I think we all had that one that got away. I had a couple, but I think I did a good job choosing though.

Doesn’t get much better than that! Timeless perfection in the form of music!
Classic soul at its finest 💯 💯💯💯

I need a drink and a quick decision...one of the best lines
You can never rekindle something that slipped through your fingers.
I've been there, I know that feeling too..
You need to here this live. They're even better live, if you can imagine.

Don't forget Me and Mrs. Jones! That cover is mind blowing!
Your right. The worst pain ever is a "Broken Heart"!

Sara Smile was Daryl's break up and She's Gone was John's break up. Daryl said the break ups made for creative periods in they're lives
America's greatest blue-eyed soul duo was the Righteous Bros. Hall and Oates were in the next generation, so they weren't the greatest.

Great to discover your channel. Really enjoying your reactions and insights.
Wow I love the bass thank you. I really enjoyed your review. I was hurt by someone very badly long ago. A good song from Hall & Oates is Private Eyes.
What a song here! Love you

Little River Band was awesome!!
Icons💯💯💯💯
Love Hall and Oates! That Buccos hat though 🏴☠️
John Oates wrote this song on New years Eve after his date stood him up
Yea dude, I get that. I have one of those too. I owe an apology for the immature way I treated her.
When I saw this I knew you would love this song. I think we all had that one that got away. I had a couple, but I think I did a good job choosing though.
You need to Listen too Allen Stone & Teddy Swims version of Sara Smile 😁
You need to listen to Home Free - Man of Constant Sorrow
If you’re doing Hall & Oates, might as well do their most iconic song…Maneater…
Great work!
THATS effing pain
New sub here and fellow sister in Christ😘..loved your reaction💕
Fooled around and fell in love by Elvin Bishop should be your next reaction song after hearing your story
Oh Girl, by the Shylights I think, that is exactly the situation the song is about!
Chi-lites.
Daryl covered that song at Farm Aid in 1985. Beautiful!
@@NoCanDu, I thought it was Paul Young who sang Oh Girl..
