25 minutes?!?!?! In Factorio this is like going to a restaurant and you only get given the free bread!!! A week of starving for bread! Geh! Need Factorio fix! Give me my Cracktorio!
I know the shorter content may be better for youtube algorithm, but I think something like factorio lends itself better to longer videos. It's hard to get invested in big project series like this when it's short little blips of content with you doing stuff in between. I think most of us that get invested in these longer series would be fine with you posting hourish videos (since you play that long anyway). Just my opinion; I'm a big fan.
The tips and tricks that you've been missing from not having the notifications on can be accessed by clicking that button at the top right of the screen with a "13" on it. That's how many new space age tutorials are sitting unread...
Quill had EXACTLY the same experience I had going to another planet for the first time. A good way to see if someone has been spoiled with the DLC for sure.
20:00 that trick doesn't work for multiple items going into assemblers, inserters are 'smart' and only pickup what the assembler needs so they never get stuck with an item in their hand, when you drop it on the ground they just pickup anything so if they pickup something the assembler doesn't need then it blocks.
Lmao. Quill, look at the “tips and tricks” section for the new planets. There’s something in there about how to cross interplanetary space safely and tips for each planet. Edit: in the top right by your map, you have unread tips and tricks notifications. Look at those for the new planets, you got them you just haven’t looked at them yet.
Since you are embracing the lazy mode you should look at blueprint parameterization, then you can drop down the assembler, chests, and just select the recipe and the filters will be applied automatically.
Do not grab an old blueprint book for trains. The turning radius was changed and while they will work they will become incompatible with hand laid track. The new turning options are better anyway.
The expansion is *massive* so it's an excellent time to jump back into it. Space platforms, new planets (each with unique mechanics!), lots of new items and buildings (which open a lot of interesting options), not to mention improvements in the free 2.0 patch (like smarter robots).
Tons of new stuff, Quill has only seen about 5% of it since he's spending all his time building up Nauvis into a mega base, which you don't need to do and is actually not a great idea until after you visit the other planets. I won't say more because some are "touchy" about "spoilers" in a game that has no story.
@@MTGeomancer Kudos for not saying too much even though you don't feel it's spoilers! Genuinely. Story spoilers are the most common ones, but not the only ones: knowing about some mechanics or content ahead of time may spoil a fun (or !!fun!!) surprise (like if Quill knew about the asteroids ahead of time) or a feeling of discovery or accomplishment (like spoiling the solution to a puzzle).
I wait for Quill’s Factorio videos like others wait for Marvel movies. Cracktorio best drug. How about a Train World Peaceful run too at the same time!
I promised myself I would only record in 25 minute chunks. I recorded for 1h13 minutes, instead. Hence the "To by continued..." at the end.
I know it’s not good for you trying to keep up a schedule but please feel free to just post hour plus videos of factorio anytime 😂
This happens to the best of us hahaha
@@Mcfatty1231 Yes please! @quill18 this is your best series!

0:10 "Lord, it has been several days since my last conf-- factorio..."
I love how similar our non-spoiler experiences were here. “gotta build big! Oh… space stuff… let’s go! Oh, asteroids… Let’s try lasers! …”

Hey-Ya Folks quill18 here (said to the sound of "E-A-Sports, it's in the game")

omg it's so much fun seeing you do this spoiler-free!
Quill acting like the hitch hikers spacewhale.
18:20 Definitely a ctrl-x is what you did.

Gotta call the 4th new planet aQuillo...
Is now a good time to start playing again? Is the new content worth the amount of time this game steals from your life?
