Have only invested in one Kickstarter campaign and that was for Neil Young’s Pono digital audiophile player.
This was fantastic and produced an amazing product.
Understand this was for Neil Young and not some scammer. Feel your pain and I’ll be staying away unless it’s from a known accountable person.

Sorry to hear about the experience. I have never backed a Kickstarter, and this has always been my biggest concern and the reason why I haven't. The ads for the machines do look good, though, except for the crappy turntables that they use. Enjoy your holidays, and I hope that you can hit 1000. Cheers Karl

Thanks so much for this. I was unfortunately one of the original backers for the vinylsonic cleaner. I kicked myself when i missed out on the Humminguru so when the Vinylsonic started their fundraising campaign, I jumped at it. Live and learn. Now I'm trying to save up for a Humminguru. Again, thanks so much for this PSA.
Sorry to hear you got hooked on this scam too. Since this video here came out, I’ve seen a couple other sketchy vinyl-related machines pop up on Kickstarter, and they follow the same playbook - slick promo video, promises for backer decision feedback along the way, and loose delivery timetables. AVOID!

Wow - that sucks man - I hate the feeling that you have been ripped off - glad you are speaking up about it I hope more people see this. I had a Kickstarter go bad as well it was a from a larger RUclipsr and a Camera bag - luckily I was able to get my money back but that might have been because he was indeed legit, it was just a mess going through the process. I do not recommend kickstarter for these exact reasons. I have heard a lot of people talk about this cleaner too I hope they all didnt get scammed. I would def. ask KS to look into the other one you mentioned if indeed they are the same company - problem is they probably meet all the right requirements to listed as a separate company. Hope you get your money back!
Dude, sorry to hear you went though a similar KS experience, but happy to were able to get a refund. I had considered sending them a note about this latest one, but given how unhelpful they’ve been on my situation (“Amy”
for the L), I don’t think they’ll do anything on the Lucidwave project to protect those backers. It’s a great premise backing these startups like this, but it only benefits the creators and KS. Until that changes, they can go fly a kite 🪁
I had no idea Roomba made turntables. This sucks, Chance. Sorry to hear about your loss. Company liability and responsibility is unfortunately a thing of the past. The vast untraceable universe we call the internet continues to encourage negligence and corruption.
I bet Roomba would have shipped me though 😂. And yes, accountability is a lost art, especially under the guise of a “start up”. 🥸
After hearing the alarm bells in my head getting louder I did some research. It lead me to your video which convinced me to cancel my pledge for lucidwave. Phew.

That sucks...feel your pain! I don't want to add salt to the wound but those ads were soooo bad and both those products looked so cheap...right when she placed a warp record on a Fisher Price "Turntable" I knew this was a scam🤦 Hope you get your money back...and stay with the Degritter and STAY AWAY from these scam artists in the future....cheers 👍
Hahaha. Truth hurts. If I can take anything from this experience, is not to take such wild swings on the unknown. A recent bad experience at a local record show on a sealed record really drove that point home with me. Calculated risk, is still a risk. Thanks for checking this one out!

I fell for this kickstarter vinyl cleaner as well. Can’t believe they let another creator do a vinyl cleaner after said debacle.
They have no souls at Kickstarter. All we can do is share this tale and point out these imposters when they pop up. Sorry they got you too, Buddie.
Sorry to hear that, Chance. I got burned for a lot more than $100 on a “pre-order” from a small pro audio developer on a new product that never materialized. The cost of trying to recoup even a fraction of the investment through the legal system would have been more than the amount lost. Needless to say, I don’t do silly things like that anymore. Caveat emptor.
Ugh. Stinks hearing that Russell, but you are right - the legal cost far exceeds any potential financial recoup (shakes fist to the sky) ARGH! 🤬

'Micro-Debri' the new compound noun, brought to you by VinylSonic! Mold stabs? confused, I googled this phrase and found out someone had been stabbed in the Welsh town of Mold.
Twice the young lady is show to be listening to music (without headphones), but the turntable has an internal speaker, which, presumably is out of sight on the underside? If she had headphones however there doesn't appear to anywhere to plug them in! But great that the turntable can do 33/45 and 78 speeds, with only two buttons!
An extra demo video shows the record playing with the stylus hovering!
The programming was interesting to see button lights going on then off!! However I am sure this could all be sorted out with another million dollars.
Lucid(clean your vinyl's')Wave looks great. I am sure the same water jug and animation is purely coincidental.
As for the backdrop rooms, Ikea?
Definitely IKEA. Which, coincidentally makes a bad turntable themselves. Hmmmmm…..🤔
Oh man Chance 😟 Sorry to hear about the Vinyl Sonic ripoff. I almost got suckered into it last year when instead I opted for the Humminguru. And this LucidWave sounds like another scam. Can you take any company that advertises with the word “VINYLS” seriously? 🤔

Kick in the nuts this one Chance. My job involves working in Fraud, & I have to say my rule in life is never get involved in a Kickstarter until the product becomes available to the general public. There’s just too much risk vs reward, let others take all the risk & only jump on board once the product is out there. I think there’s an English RUclips panel called The Suffolk Audiophile who also caught a cold on this one. Sorry to hear about this one mate. 😞

You too? KickStarter should enable our contact to the “Creators” for a class action lawsuit if KickStarter funded the project without results. You would think KickStarter would definitely perform some due diligence with this new product. If it’s the same folks then KickStarter should be liable!

Chance, sorry this happened. I guess these campaigns are a gamble by nature. Watching that promo I saw too many red flags - odd awkward wording, rinky dink 'record player', just looked a bit suspicious.

@@ConcertBuddie I still have yet to get an ultrasonic. I really want the Degritter but may have to go with the Kirmuss. Was it a game changer for you over previous methods (I assume vacuum RCM?)
@@ThePressingMatters for me, yes. Just in terms of saving time of cleaning records (previous used a Spin Clean) with a "push and go" system, plus it has made a profound difference in the sound quality of my used records. But that's just my 2 cents 🙂

Ah, man….sorry to hear that, Chance. What a bunch of BS. I was so damn close to getting in on that kickstarter, but thought I’d wait for a few reviews of the product, as I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more if I heard it worked well. So then, what was the cleaner in the vid? I don’t understand, because if they had a prototype, and what looked like a working model too.
Again, what a crock of 💩. It’s f’d up that you, the consumer, is the one who’s unprotected by this scam. I was immediately weary of that second machine you showed the ad for when they calked them “vinyls”. Anyone experienced and deep enough into the hobby would not say that. Crappy situation, Chance. Hopefully, you’ll be able to get your $ back somehow.

I was looking into pledging for one of those Lucidwave cleaners on Kickstarter but 2 things chanced my mind. First was you pay now but don't get the machine till August next year (too long) & the thing that really made me skeptical was the co-founders demo video. It looked so unprofessional & kind of sketchy. I just thought if you were doing such a well prepared campaign why was this video so poorly done??? So I passed.
Great call. I honestly don’t know for 100% fact it’s the same people that scammed us on Vinylsonic, but the “team” photo was what made me beyond skeptical. All people south of 25 - gave me credibility doubts all over again. Better to spend those hard earned dollars on a proven product in the marketplace. ✌🏻

love my Humminguru. Seems to me they are all pale imitations of it. And I never support anything on kickstarter. way too chancy. I do know that the "guru" started out there...BUT...I would have never put money into it until I saw it in the real world. I'm not a gambler I work too hard and long for my money.
Yeah, the fact Humminguru started thru Kickstarter gave it social proof to me. But not all Kickstarter’s are legit. Lesson learned. Thanks for stopping by! ✌🏻
