  • Oscar is one of the best bike builders in the world, but he's never had a chance to get an up-close look at a bike like this before. Easily one of the craziest looking bikes in the world, I brought my Crewkerz Jealousy to his shop for an inspection!
    I knew I'd get a reaction out of him when I brought a bike without a seat in the door, but I learned a lot about how bikes are built and the thought that goes into each design.
    We're working on a custom titanium mountain bike frame in the next few months, so this is just the beginning. Can't wait to see a bike get fully welded up from scratch, and I'll definitely share it with you.
    Here's a link to Oscar's website if you want to check him out in more detail: www.simplebicy...

    Modern trials bikes and motorcycles are badass looking, especially when properly ridden.

    Great video, Aaron. It’s great to see how much y😢are enjoying the Crewkerz.
    Did you go to Bentonville this year? I didn’t notice a video about it.

      Having so much fun with this bike! I did go to Bentonville, but didn't make a video - was too busy with podcasts and everything else to get a full video put together, unfortunately.

    To think, my Red Sky is a +35, that's low for this stage in trials.

  • @Sunspot-19

    What is really comical is that a tradional builder doesn't think about the speciality of a trials bike. Trials bikes are oranges in a bushel of apples.
    One aspect of my typical dirtin' specific hardtail is BB height is zero or +, never a drop.

  • @sapinva
    @sapinva 11 месяцев назад

    Not sure that BB height theories actually hold up. I haven't found that it makes much difference in getting on the back wheel, or that a lower BB is any more stable or "planted". Dirt jumpers have a higher than typical BB and no one ever says their dirt jumper is hard to manual or not planted in turns.

    • @LaurentiusTriarius
      @LaurentiusTriarius 11 месяцев назад

      The thing I notice is that longer chainstays need a bit more motivation to manual or wheelie, didn't notice that with my bikes set up with higher BB's

    It is kinda like a unicycle with a front training wheel and handle. I kid of course.

      Haha! I tried riding a unicycle once and it didn't go well. Surprised that the skills wouldn't transfer!

    Forgive me if this is a dumb question as i am not a trials rider. How do you size a trials frame? Am intrigued as learned about Rider Area Distance from Lee Likes Bikes and curious to what trails riders do.

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  11 месяцев назад +2

      Trials frames are usually one size only - sometimes we’ll roll our bar position to make it fit a bit better, and in extreme cases we can swap to shorter/longer stems. The vertical riding style more or less throws traditional MTB sizing out the window. It was fun to watch Oscar wrap his head around this one!

    Those clean stems are a liability, I've seen a few snap already.

    I'm guessing its a 26 inch wheel i think you should have brought a 20 inch it would have been more strange

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  10 месяцев назад

      I wish I had a 20" trials bike, unfortunately I sold mine a few years ago to get this 26" bike.

    1:56 "lower BB = easier pull up to manual" 🤔 Any explanation for that? I'm not saying it's not so, but most probably missing something about physics involved. My guess would be exactly opposite.

    • @JaceLn
      @JaceLn 11 месяцев назад

      I agree my guess would also be the opposite. I honestly have no idea because it seems like a higher BB makes the BB closer to the balance point making it easier to get it pulled up to the balance point. good observation. ???????

    • @sapinva
      @sapinva 11 месяцев назад

      It doesn't really change anything. Your feet are the same distance from the rear axle for given chain stay length. Only the position of the hands relative to the feet is changed.

    • @dansacco1964
      @dansacco1964 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@sapinvawith a higher BB it takes less tilt of the bike to get the BB directly over the axle. So the balance point arrives sooner with the bike closer to horizontal when you get there. I think this provides more stability in the system compared to a dropped BB where the bike would be vertical at the balance point.
