I was ten years old, and I can always bring to mind that feeling I had when I first listened to a certain band, read a certain book, played a certain game-
I wish I could get back there and feel it all again for the first time.

I was 15 in 1991. I worked at Bashas grocery store in Arizona part time. We had a TV monitor in front of the registers that would play TV. I remember all of these commercials. Summers always had a Blockbuster movie. When A movie came out in the theater. You had to wait 1 year before it was on VHS. Any TV show you had to wait all summer for the next season. I hated summer because nothing was on TV. At least as a teenager. We had no curfews. We still played outside and rode bikes to school. We saved up for a car at 16. Our parents were at work. Never around. We had to figure out what our plans were soon because we were getting kicked out at 18. I miss the early 90s and the Grunge music that exploded in the end of 1991.

The Ikea commercial is strangely modern... The kids goofing for the stationary camera feels just like a webcam/FaceTime call, the helicopter parents planning out their kids' future, and Ikea itself which was barely known then but is all over the country now.
I love that Chase commercial, just so classy with the jazz music and the gently falling snow.

Growing up we only got cable occasionally depending on my father’s work schedule (he worked construction). So most of the time we only had regular tv. 3 (cbs), 6 (abc), 10 (nbc) and 69 (local). Sometimes we would get channel 11. That was the movie channel for regular tv back then (the poor version of hbo or Cinemax). Saturday mornings it showed badly dubbed Asian martial arts films.

@@FirstNameLastName-oo1zm I definitely own the content. I transfer all of my material from analogue tapes, such as VHS, Beta, UMatic, etc.. I then edit and format the digital transfer so that I can share it on RUclips. The watermark is there to prevent others from downloading this material and claiming it as their own by uploading to their channels. I'm not fond of content stealing, considering how much work I put into this channel and my subscribers. Most of these commercials no longer have copyright licensing, as this is common practice with advertisements of old. So, for the most part, this 'retro' material is public domain. Lastly, I cannot and do not monetize any material on my channel.
