I fondly recall these commercials in Denver, Colorado in 1988 and '89. The west and midwest was rife with them... The lighting, showcase, theatrics, music and entertainment were warmer back then than nowadays. I wish I could return to that bygone era. So heartfelt and nostalgic!
I loved the Mini Wheat commercials with the adult turning into a kid. I feel old because I didn’t realize that it was that old. But I do still love those frosted mini wheats. When it sucks up all the milk yummy 😋

I kept seeing everybody talking about Don the Con's commercial at the end, and all I saw was a commercial for Prep H getting rid of hemorrhoids, and I figured he was the hemorrhoid. Then I realized I wasn't to the end of the video yet. My bad.
1989 was a bad year starting in March. Later I spent 4 months in the jail of the Caribbean island I was on, getting out the day Hurricane Hugo hit as a cat 5 with over 200mph winds. Go for 3 months without electricity and jury-rigged water supplies hording what pitiful little you can get. I left the island after helping it somewhat recover in Jan 1990 after growing up there.
The California Raisins commercials are great! It was a fad! The Jeffy Pop commercial is nice! I can't remember the last time I ate Jeffy Pop! That Donald Trump commercial! Great commercials! Thanks Dave!
I just can't believe they actually expected post popping, near molten plastic casing to be opened with their bare hands, I think I remember people complaining about that, getting burned by that much more often than any other brand's pre packaged popcorn packet, at least Orville had the courtesy to take the same idea, protect peoples hands with the paper, and make the opening action the top of the back and leaves your hands much more clear and able to avoid the worst of the post popping heat

I really like the “craft” that went into older commercials. No cgi so everything is practical and “real”. Just very nice to watch and admire.
