Man I love Fougere Fragrances. One of my favorites genres. Authenticity Barbershop is probably my favorite . Like you said just so clean smelling and smooth. Dolce Gabbana Pour Homme is awesome too
Brother, you are costing me so much money.... but I'm loving it for a change. Anxiously waiting for my 3rd bottle from AJ and 2 more samples. Just went to AP and purchased 1 bottle, then I started browsing and found 2 more I want to try out. Love the channel!! Keep up the awesome work!!
Excellent because I'm enjoying barbershop frags in the last few weeks. My choices would be Proraso Red, Pashana Original or really any in their range as I've found them all to be nice, Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve or Denim. I especially believe that Denim is underrated due to nostalgic associations.
Thanks Ross. I was hesitant about buying Authenticity Barbershop, because I already had the Happyland version. I was worried that they might be too similar. This video was very helpful.
My favorite barbershop fragrance is the smell of Gillette Barbershop Fresh shaving cream. It's like Skin Bracer but warmer. If only I could find a cologne that replicates that.
Great list and I enjoyed it and I like D&G pour homme and I'm going to get a bottle one day and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed 🌙
Azzaro pour homme is greatness in a bottle Smells like you just got a nice fade/shave at the barbershop. Women love it. Always get compliments at the office.
Great video! I love 💈 style fragrances! Paul Sebastian PS, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Cremo Blue Cedar & Cypress, and Aqua Velva Musk are my favorites - all are great cheapies too!
Great video. Authenticity Barbershop I love there take on barbershop fragrance. Replicas barber shops good. Thee best barbershop fragrance Art Of Shaving Green Lavendar.
Thank you for this list. I am looking forward to testing all of these! Meanwhile my favorites from my collection are: Number 1: Jovan Sex Appeal. 2. Drakkar Intense 3. Aramis Original 4. Azzaro Pour Homme
Any fragrance from the Aqua Di Parma Colonia line. Lalique pour homme; the bottle with the lion head and another classic to consider is Alfred Sung Homme.
@Phyllip Davis. Are you referring to the latest Paco Rabanne PH version? I wore it in the 80s, and really enjoyed it. But, I haven't purchased the latest version since I'm afraid it won't compare to the original, and I'll be disappointed...What would you say? 😊
Literally ordered the Authenticity pack of samples in the wee hours of the morning when it became available. Barbershop is one of the samples in it that I am eagerly awaiting. Anyhow it meets/exceeds expectations, Im getting it.
I took your advice and bought acqua essenziale blu, my boss complimented it on my first day wearing it and he thought it was Burberry touch at first lol but honestly I absolutely love the scent and would almost classify it as a barber shop scent
Fantastic breakdown of barbershop styles. One of my favourite fragrances genres. I think you got all styles nailed. I have never put barbershop in sub categories. Now going through my collection of BS fragrances and putting them in there sub categories. Sounds crazy but its very therapeutic. 😂
Interesting vid. Different genres within Barbershop fragrances. I liked it. Already had the EDP Moustach, but after this vid I had to get the edt. Love Barbershop frags. I would be in favor of a vid of your top say 15 Barbershop frags no matter what category. Good job 👍👍
I picked up a Happyland sample set like 6 months ago. I sprayed 2 sprays of Happyland Barbershop on my wrists in the guest bathroom. I can still pick up on it 2 days later in that room! I’m not so sure I’m on board with the “Happyland thing” across the board, but barbershop is KILLER! It’s very well blended and the leather with the citrus is so good… it’s a quintessential barbershop scent they did a fantastic job with this one. I do have a bottle of barbershop from authenticity perfumes and almost regret buying it sadly. I really want to like it but it’s REALLY soapy and astringent. The creaminess does not come through on my nose as much as I want it to; the astringent nature remains in the dry down slightly. Will definitely grab a bottle from Happyland though. I’ve been stupid lucky with the few blind buys that I’ve risked over the years, but after the authenticity perfumes bottle I’ll definitely be sampling from now on.
At the Barbers and Rive Gauche clone from Dua River Fougere are my go to with Zino and Beau Dujour a close second If you really want that old school smell with a sandalwood twist. Try Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood
I love Authenticity Barbershop. Have you tried Mason Margiela's Replica series fragrance At the Barbers? What about Invasion Barbare? I love both of those fragrances, and I just received my bottle of Dua's version called Invasion of the Barbers and it smells just like the original to my nose. If you haven't gotten your nose on either version I recommend doing it asap. It's the best barbershop style fragrance ever. It's a sexy barbershop fragrance that's definitely masculine. That's the only way to put it. It's definitely unique and it's guaranteed to draw compliments.
Good List Ross! My List From My Own Personal Collection; 1. YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme👑 2. Houbigant Fougere Royale 3. MFK Masculin Pluriel 4. TF Fougere D'Argent 5. MM At The Barbers
One fragrance that comes to mind when you mentioned Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme which is Herrera pour Homme by Carolina Herrera. I guess you could call it a barbershop fragrance? Not sure. Citrusy Tobbaco, lavander and ambergris type of scent. It has this dusty quality about it that I truly love. Was my signature scent multiple times and I went through 3 or more bottles.
Givenchy Xeryus and Tom Ford Beau de Jour are at the top. I have two 200ml bottles of Azzaro PH, this will last me forever, I love the old-school vibe.
Tom Ford Beau De Jour is a supreme ‘Barbershop’ fragrance. It has a nuclear half life of about 4 days. The projection on this beast is unbelievable and it garners a ridiculous amount of compliments. I can’t overstate the beastiness of this fragrance, it is ultra heavy on the lavender but once you get over that initial blast it just oozes class. I foolishly sprayed 7-10 sprays before going out for an evening and I had to head back to my hotel to get changed, I could STILL smell it on my clothes and bedding for days.
Please try AB. It is awesome and a clone of Rive Gauche supposedly but is an aftershave and doesn't last too long. My favorite but I do not have a collection or knowledge of scents that you do. Would love your opinion of Fine AB.
Ah! My kind of fragrances. I've tried Happyland - Barbershop and Azzaro - Pour Homme. I need to check out the rest. I have 2 cans of YSL - Rive Gauche. Also you should try Caron - Le 3e Homme. To me, Parfums MDCI - Invasion Barbare is the BEST barbershop fragrance there is. Thanks for your review. 😊
I have 3 of these (moustache, Happyland, and authenticity) and would say Happyland is my favorite, also tried azarro but didn't find it unique enough to add to my collection when I already had these stunners
Current Barbershop/Aromatic Fougeres ones I own: (not in significant order) Drakkar Noir Chanel Platinum Egoiste Beau De Jour CK Eternity A&F Fierce Montblanc Legend Intense
I believe it was me who asked you for barber shop frag vid, and since you made it, im now subscribed. Like i told you, well put together video and my favorite from the list is D&G POUR HOMME. Does PLATINUM EGOISTE BY CHANEL fall under this category of bs fragrances?
Chanel platinum. YSL Opium pour homme. beau de jour. Eau Sauvage. Gucci guilty cologne. honourable mention has to go to Denim and Aramis. every barbershop had them two back in the days.
Guerlain has good Barber shop Frags, Jean Paul Gultier has Essence that is a good barber shop, Creed has Portugal that also is good, I can think of a few more that are good
It's great. Nothing else smells like 8&B, out of around 150 frags that I own. Very easy wear. But the best is the provenance behind it! It's like wearing history.
Eight and Bob Egypt. Kind of take it into a light ambery/spicy direction. Penhaligon's Sartorial is in a similar vein that people talk about has a metallic vibe that kind of rubs me the wrong way
yes good ones, but Chanel Platinum Egoiste,Replica at the barbers,Tom Ford Fougere de Argent & king of barbershop dream is Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche
I liked your perspective on this one. I would have liked to seen something for the original / classics like Houbigant Fougere Royal or Eau Sauvage…then included modern interpretations on that classic style like Gravitas or even Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme.
Liz Clairborne "Mambo", barbershop all over it, 12$ bought it just to try it, ZERO performance even on shirt, i do love the profile of it. i wish i cut find a much better clone of it.
The whole not every barbershop fragrance is created equal is totally true because I love American Crew win and Drakkar noir, but when I smelled azzaro pour Homme my nostrils burned in pain it was so bad😷. And don’t get me started on Aramis when I smelled that I felt violated. I’m definitely team shaving cream over team aftershave
I've got love for the ol' school classic scents, and it breaks off a lil' piece of my heart whenever i can't get into one of them. But these just didn't do it for me: Drakkar Noir Eau Sauvage Azzaro - Pour Homme I know... i know... and yet i can't get enough of these! Aqua Brava Quorum - Original Aramis - Original ... and even, dare i say,....Brummel... ...but i have to work up the courage on that one 😝
I wanted to love the Azzaro so much more than I do. I don't find myself reaching for it. Might take the plunge on Authenticiy Barbershop.....but....#PacoRabanneForeva!

A fantastic soapy, shaving cream type fragrance that gets no love is Alfred Sung Homme. Barbershop in a bottle! A beast performer. Projection and longevity for HOURS. AND cheap. $20. Check it out, my brother! Much love and respect from NYC
I ordered Moustache EDT by mistake the other day. Soon as I smelled it, I thought...a worse Old Spice. Definitely smells like it came out in 1949, which it did. Super dated to my nose. I returned it. It did have great projection and longevity. Yuck.
One of my favorite genres/styles in frags. The blue stuff I believe is barbicide.
