I can relate to everything having been in a touring band, and you really have been showing me what it means to take my drum game to the next level. at the end when you say that you wish that you could play more for more people. That hit a cord. Everytime I do a concert I'm always bummed when our part is done. Performing live is so much fun and I'm always super excited to do them.
Not sure if you remember, but my band mates and I were backstage and we met after the show. It was an honor! You’re such an inspiration it’s insane how calm and composed you keep🤝

Great solo Gabe! Thank you for being so transparent and openly vulnerable. Oftentimes people don't realize that pros experience the same things that all of us drummers experience and that it is ok to feel nervous just stay the course and your work will pay off. I really enjoyed this video and found it most encouraging. I miss playing with others as well, and find it to be a blast. Someday.

8:15 - I haven't played with others since covid, last Monday I had my first rehearsals with a band and this is exactly how I described it to my partner, it's almost like a "I'm back" moment! - keep the videos coming, they're awesome!
awesome solo bro! you crushed it! always look forward to your content. You do a great job on the kit and in all your videos. Its nice to also see the time that you put in to try and "calm the nerves" and to see that even though you have done this many times, those nerves can still creep up just like they do in us that only play small shows haha. Your solo kills. It's not just chops, and each part shows a different skillset and interesting take on beats. I just love that kind of solo, where it feels almost like a drum-focused song more than a guy just chopping out, which you can obviously do if you want.

So awesome to be able to see how much practice goes into such a small part of the whole performance. As fans in the audience or watching a recording of a show we often just watch and think "woah, these guys are gods, how do they just do that" - this video is so good because it reminds us that it doesn't matter how big a band you play in or how many times you've performed in front of a crowd you still get incredibly nervous and have to work your ass off to make sure you get it right just like any one else would.
I love that you didn't show the actual solo til the end of the video so we got to hear all your anxiety about it and see you practice again and again, it made me actually nervous for you when you finally showed the clip and I literally punched the air and shouted "FUCK YES!" when you nailed it lmao. Definitely have a new appreciation for what goes into a performance like this, especially when you have the pressure of a solo.

This is a great video! I was on a boarding school where music was the fundamental reason to be there.
I learned to keep my solos on my drums simple but stylish. I sometimes gets so much carried away with the music and stuff that I completely got overwhelmed and went maniac and made some mistakes. At the last concert I tried to do it way more simple than normal and after my gig a drum friend came up to me and said “what the he’ll happened? You was smashing good today” and I was just choked. So simple is the king!!

There's drum solos for drummers and drum solos for general audiences and you chose wisely. Like how you kept it short, kept the first part musical (with background bass/keyboards still going). Very nice. If it were a drum competition for drummers obviously it would need to be different, but you did it for the right audience and won them over. Great job!
