  • Amtrak Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliner passenger trains seen running in and around the scenic Santa Barbara area in late March 2017. One lone Union Pacific freight included too. This region of California is one of my favorite locations to film: The landscapes are awesome, tons of grade crossings, and significantly less surrounding noise than the big city life of San Diego and Los Angeles, especially when you go North of Goleta!
    Watch in HD!!
Train 1: Amtrak #796 heads South led by Cabcar 6951 in some light rain.
Train 2: Amtrak #11 running nearly 2 hours late, arrives into Santa Barbara, then departs 12 minutes later. P42DC #153 on point with a solid K5LA!
Train 3: Amtrak Coast Starlight #14 runs thru Summerland right on time, with AMTK 153 leading again.
Train 4: Same train as previous, chased to Ellwood (North Goleta).
Train 5: Amtrak Surfliner #784 in Goleta with AMTK 6908 leading.
Train 6: Amtrak Coast Starlight #11 just North of Santa Barbara station with an extra baggage car and 4 deadheading Horizon cars.
Train 7: Same as previous, now in downtown Santa Barbara. Nasty horn on the lead P42DC #150!
Train 8: Amtrak #796 with an extremely weak engineer on the horn.
Train 9: Amtrak #14 hugs the coastline as it works its way North to San Luis Obispo.
Train 10: Amtrak #11 crosses a large trestle bridge with AMTK 4 leading.
Train 11 & 12: Amtrak Surfliner 777 proceeds into Santa Barbara after waiting for Amtrak 11 to finish its station work. Amtrak 11 slowly creeps down to a red signal, awaiting a UP freight.
Train 13: Union Pacific manifest rolls by with a solid K3LA on lead SD70M 4707!
    Thanks for Watching!
