Klay wants to win NOW, not just be a contender. Klay would have helped the Lakers be a solid contender. But Dallas just came off the NBA Finals., and Dallas' dollars are taxed WAAAAY less, so the same contract would be worth more money. The Lakers also have a new coach, who has never coached AT ANY LEVEL. Klay made the right call to give himself the best chance to make the playoff and possibly repeat as Western Conference champions.

I think he made the right choice, but for Bontemps to say the Lakers weren’t competitive when it took 2 game winners for Denver to beat them is just inaccurate.

Saying lakers weren’t competitive in their playoff series is a horrible take even if you hate them

Didn't Kyrie make over 40% from 3 this season?

I’ve been saying this. Yes draymond is their main defensive guy and who can make plays for them but to me he’s not worth 100 million. Sheesh. he’s somewhere around the 60-70 range. Klay should’ve been the main focus as far giving him his money so he can have his mind right and play ball. He’s been thinking about this all season long and was heavily distracted. fresh start in Dallas, watch out. He’ll light everyone out. Especially warriors.

He’s the third option in Dallas. If he isn’t shooting well the first quarter, he won’t see the ball the rest of the night.

Not to mention, the pressure on winning will be way less on Klay as it will mostly be on Luka and Kyrie so he can just keep shooting.

Espn always getting stats wrong 😂 he had 9 seasons shooting over 40% from 3

Brian is wrong. It was because Dubs rejected Lakers' offer of Russell that Klay couldn't go to Lakers and get $80M. An Austin offer would have got it done tho

The Lakers take care of their aging stars.
Magic, Kareem, Kobe and now LeBron.

Oh please. Warriors gave Klay 200 million. You're just a salty Laker fan who's shifting your anger to deflect from the LA retards.
