I wonder if it has ever occurred to Fr. Mike that many of us who are childless take a tiny bit of consolation in “parenting” our animals. We know they aren’t human babies. (I wonder if his sister Beth has children.)
Christ put aside His glory to take on the flesh. So, what does this mean exactly? Well, it means, He was a man. And, He wholeheartedly gave himself--as a man--to the Father's Will; he walked perfectly in the Father's Will for our sake. He was so at one with the Father that His Will was the Father's Will, they were one-in-the-same; united as One. He did not change or transform the water, the water was living water (if you study crystal formations and the differences found in the forms between living and dead water, you will see why the Jewish ppl used only living water to cleanse and purify themselves). He was baptised as a man aught be baptised. This baptism served many functions, one of which included a recognition of the sacred within nature; the material world and how different sources interact with the body and spirit, mind and soul. Repentance and remission of sins are a couple more functions to mention (these traditions are found in the Jewish culture though they are enacted differently). I've never had a best friend. It's just one of those things God didn't want me tied up and loosing my train of thought with, I'm guessing.
I don’t think Fr. Mike was being literal when he said Christ changed the water. My take on it is that Christ showed us what it means to lay down our lives, the way we die to self in baptism.
@@kelkabot We don't "die to self" in baptism, how many babies proclaim themselves "dead to self" after they're dipped in the font? I think I have a count of zero on that one. How many you got? Christ IS the living water., thus, He changed the water. If you want to bother, it would be prudent to go study about the watery abyss and/or the chaos waters of ancient Mesopotamia and the Levant, you'll be able to grab hold of a better handle on what I was talking about and referring to.
More Roman Catholic heresy. A true biblical baptism of the Holy Spirit cannot take place until one is old enough to understand the significance of what is taking place. Infant dedications are wonderful, but they do not nor cannot replace the biblical baptism. Also, this or any other priest is not a "father." You have one human father and one Heavenly Father, that is all. To refer to Roman Catholic priests as such is unbiblical and horribly misleading.
Why did Paul refer to himself as a father in scriptures? In scripture, when they said that an entire household was baptized, why are you assuming that there weren’t any children or infants?

I keep telling those I know who have been baptized from birth, they are consecrated to God. Fr Mike's anointing is increasing every day.
