Reusing paper is so good. I hate tearing up these beautiful printed papers. The papers are a gift from them too. I reuse many and take pleasure and now people wrap my presents in beautiful hand picked paper bc they know im "gentle" with it and save and reuse them.😂🎉. May 2025 be kind and gentle to all.🎉🎉🎉
Love how conscious you are of not ripping the paper, my mother would always save it and reuse it, and I picked that habit up from her, it reminds me of her
I like your word haha, "inflict". It is true and most people, and city planners, do not consider this. I'll also admit I'm learning later in life not to be a brute.
I am at the „no violence“ and „think about the sounds you make“ part. I love this so much. I suffered from sudden hearing loss this year and was super sensitive to sounds like plastic bags, sneezing and these kinds of chrustling sounds. It is so kind of you to think about this!
I’ve still got a two piece box that I wrapped for myself more than 20 years ago. I had done a collage of flower pictures and then used colour photocopies of my collage to wrap the box. Admittedly, I didn’t do the neatest job on the inside (or the corners) but It’s lasted really well considering it’s just card and paper. I use it to store a few spare craft items in. This video makes me want to wrap more boxes…. And do a neater job of it!
When I find nice boxes with a lid, I will often do this technique with Christmas paper. What is funny is those boxes go into rotation for whichever family member is hosting, and reappear from year to year.
You are a class act my friend! I absolutely love your channel. I have learned so much from watching you, and I’m 60-years-old….proof positive that you’re never too old to learn new things! Thank you for sharing yourself with the world!😁
I love your content. The wrapping segment took me back several years when I used to wrap gifts with heavy, lovely wrapping paper. Then I discovered decorative shopping bags (yeek!) and stopped using wrapping paper. I have prepared my gifts in decorative bags this year. But next year I m returning to wrapping paper because of u. Thank you.
im from russia and im a first post-soviet generation kid (i was born at the end of 90s). i still remember the shock of seeing american christmas movies, where kids were distroying present wraps, tearing it in pieces in seconds. we actually discussed this practicee a lot with people of my age when we were kids, because everyone had this cultural shock and a lot of emotions by those scenes. im not saying its a bad way to receive presents, some of the kids we discussed it actually told me they wished to have a pile of presents in this colourful papers to destroy like their favourite movie heroes, but this practice still havent grown on me.
3:32 Thank you for sharing that tip about scent and music being to last memories to dissipate - I truly wish I had known that before Alzheimer’s took my Grandfather. He was so instrumentally important in my life and watching his life deteriorate was so heartbreaking to us, and frustrating to him. I’ll keep this nugget in my pocket, tho! It’s funny, I always try to have music playing and candles/incense/simmer pots going when my kids come back from their dad’s. Hopefully that’s something positive that they remember forever!
I stopped using tape to wrap gifts years ago because of Rajiv and everyone is always so impressed! I also love the two piece box technique! I keep the high quality boxes from things I purchase, but I feel like I’m hoarding them because I cant use them all around my house. But I also don’t want to give gifts in them because of the logo. This is perfect for those!!!
I used my old academic posters from research conferences to wrap baby shower presents for my friend and colleague from grad school. It was probably the best use of the research!
I have the best story. When I was seven our neighbor brought over the most beautiful Xmas present for me. For two weeks I looked at the red foil and velvet ribbon imagining what could be in this amazing box. Well the day came and I was sadly disappointed by a pack of socks in the box but I saved the paper and ribbon for years! I swear I love wrapping presents! Kind of like presenting beautiful food before eating. I love love paper anyway. Everyone commits on my gift wrapping and how they don’t even want to open it. Thank you for showing your love of these crafts.
I was so happy the first time I se a video of Rajiv doing fancy gift wrapping using all kinds of tools. It’s been years now that I use brown paper only with no tape (double tape in extreme cases). I use pins, wax seals, yarn fuzzy balls (to make a package look like a reindeer) and even hole puncher to make designs on the brown paper. Brown paper is so versatile and it gets my creative juice flowing. I love it. Thanks for giving us more tools to add to our gift wrapping bag of tricks.
So beautiful and certainly makes the receiver of the gift feel special. I love that you can open it without destroying it. A lot much more than wrapping tips going on here. This week has been stressful and this was a wonderful reminder- and the best way to start my day TYFS
Lucky are those who receive a thoughtful, well-wrapped gift❤ Rajiv, you are an absolute delight. Watching your channel just fills me with a sense of calm. Nandri vanakkam 💕
If only you knew how comforting it is to find someone as nutty as I… Yes, Rajiv~ wrapping a gift with a separate top and bottom is a gift itself borne of love - within a gift itself borne of love. You don’t know it until you know it. A safe, healthy and happy holiday to you , and to all who mean the most to your heart. 🎄 Deep respect from a fellow New Yorker.
My mother- in- law, bless her, did like you did...all the parcels and then left the "glue" to set overnight. Next day, all the parcels were open. She clucked and shook her head. Where's that glue.....? Oh no, it was that tube of nose remedy she had been recently prescribed.
Don’t be frantic! Do a little bit every evening, so that you don’t get too overwhelmed. Happy Holidays Rajiv! You always bring such great content ❤ 🎄 🎁
Ooh! Little ribbon tabs glued inside the top half of the box can help pull the halves of the box apart without a struggle. Or just lay a ribbon on top of the gift and you can pull both ends
I do agree with you regarding the tape, it is ugly when you have wrapped a beautiful gift. I will now look for the rubber cement. You have a very soothing way of speaking. ❤
Gift wrapping has always been my favorite part of any occasion. There’s something so calming about the process, especially the moment it all comes together with an elegant bow. While I usually lean toward satin ribbons, I’ve been exploring new ideas, and that’s how I stumbled upon your video. I can’t begin to express how delighted I was to find it-truly, it’s the best tutorial I’ve ever come across. Your attention to detail is remarkable, from the satisfying pop of wrapping paper coming undone with rubber cement to the thoughtfulness of savoring the unwrapping experience rather than tearing through it. Every aspect of your video was a joy to watch. And your gift-wrapping corner! It’s such an inspiring setup. I dream of having a dedicated gift-wrapping station when I eventually move into my first home. Thank you for sharing your talent and this wonderful video-it brought me so much peace to know that I’m not crazy. There are people out there like me who truly love the art of gift wrapping.
Oh the memories are stirring! Making wrapping paper with my kids when they were little was so much fun! We’d cut simple stamps out of potatoes- like a heart or star, then dip in bright poster paint to decorate brown paper. Also carefully dipping white folded tissue paper in little dishes of different food colorings. A cool iron to smooth out the dried dyed pieces revealed such gorgeous designs! Makes me want to try this again! What an inspiration you are Rajiv! 💖
Exquisite!!!! This vid brings me to my days when I would wrap all my sisters gifts… the wrapping from the paper and extra details make a huge impression. Now I want to buy a gift to wrap it. I can tell by the sound of the cutting that is a good weighted paper and it’s also gorgeous
I suffer from Misophonia so I am very sensitive to loud noises such as cupboard doors closing, cutlery banging together or microwave doors being slammed shut. Indeed, the idea of ‘gently’ is very apropos. Being busy and in a rush is not a reasonable excuse for making unnecessary loud noises. It takes no more time (or not very much more) to close something gently than it does to slam it, and surely it must be something that everyone can appreciate. If I am alone and in a hurry, yes, I may very well ‘make a little noise’ as I go about my day, but if someone else is in the room with me, I instinctively take my time as I perform actions that might result in a jarring experience for the other person (or persons). I really do try to be quieter, and gentler. Your mother was a wise and thoughtful woman. How wonderful that she taught you to not just be gentler, but also explained how it might affect others. Such kindness.
How lucky are your friends to receive such a beautiful gifts 💝 By the way I got myself a foam maker and I have been enjoying making hot chocolate ☕️ with foam . So many nice things to learn from you. You bring such a joy in our lives. Thank you 🙏🏼
Every year I think about our Christmas gift wrapping and choose papers that mix and match or fit a theme (preferably not all from the same store or brand). I combine them with brown kraft paper and white butchers paper and a selection of twines and ribbons that I have collected on sale over the year. Everyone in the household takes turns wrapping their gifts and making their own combinations of paper and ribbons. I usually buy my gift wrap at the end of season sales for 1/10th of the original price and we end up with a beautiful pile of gifts under the tree that often costs no more than $10 to $15 to wrap. I have all boys but I have taught them how to wrap gifts over the years so they can take the time to beautifully wrap gifts for partners, family and friends.
The nice surprice would be you get your gift from the same wrapping paper you used to your friend which circulated amung few friends and come to you back and when you open this paper you will think about how many people touched this papre and opened and enjoyed. Perhaps we all shpuld start this when we do the secret Santa who is returning your paper thoughtfully and carefully! Love so much the passion he put on every little details!
That was a beautiful lesson that your mother had shared with you. I have found in our society people don’t care how their behaviors impact others, especially when it comes to fragrances I won’t even go down that road
Rubber Cement! Of course! Ever since I took photography in high school, rubber cement became my favorite glue lol. I can't believe I never thought of it for gift wrapping before. It's genius!
The joy, technique, patience and love of gift giving! Thank you Rajiv for your year long films and sharing the Art of Living Beautifully! Happy Holidays to you and your family.
You're such a wonderful human Rajiv... living with such care, generosity of spirit, joy and beauty. I'm truly inspired by you and your lovely way of being. Wishing you every happiness and a truly magical and joyful Christmas and New Year 😊
Your love of life is an enjoyable follow. Taking time to appreciate all the special touches make a difference. Kind of like the lovely little Karapincha tree in the background. Happy holidays!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I always say it is all about the presentation. When I gave my co workers gifts they never wanted to open because of the wrapping. 😊
Thank you Rajiv! I agree, the wrapping is an extension of the gift. I laughed out loud when you mentioned the scent of rubber cement. I also thought about the blue printing ink from grade school! I just wenr to your website. Oh my! It is so elegant! Bravo! Congratulations, everything is sold out. I look forward to seeing your future offerings. Merry Christmas from South Georgia. 🎄 🎅 🌲
I love and appreciate the attention to detail and most of all, I can feel your joy in sharing your love of giving your best whether for yourself or for others to also enjoy....thank you for the tips!💖🥰🙏
I love your pieces of living well, Rajiv... my cousin who died in 1986 and I would always do these kind of things together; unusual, especially for kids from Texas. We were both artists and felt so grateful for being kin to each other. I miss him every day.
Thank you for crossing that t! I practice what I call “craptastic” gift wrapping, handed down from my mother, where you do it the best you can, and quickly and then just LOVE the results and know that the recipient will too. Wrinkles and funny corners and all.
Yes, I’m right there with your wrapping vibe. It’s so satisfying when you finish the job. I like to play music, and take my time. When I’m happy with the decorations, I stop and gently put the gift aside. Happy wrapping.😊 I see you !
So happy this video was recommended to me today I dident know about rubber cement I have seen it when I moved to the United States years ago but never knew what it was until now
your mom reminds me of mine when she'd reprimand me 😅. "Finesse!", she'd say. i get it, though! no need to be making clanging and thudding and booming sounds. good times 😂 thanks so much for the lovely content ❤️ i was totes gonna use wax seals this year. i love your technique!
Just had your video come up on my feed...and it was right up my street!!!😍 You've confirmed what I've ALWAYS thought about gift wrapping...that it's a gift in itself!!! 💝 I spend as much time choosing the paper, the way I wrap, tags and ties, as I do for the gift!(sometimes more!)😉🎁 Great...and relaxing video!👏💆♀️
You sweet and adorable, magical human.. lovely. I hope you are gifted with things that make you equally if not more joyful and happy. Holiday Blessings to You❣
Imagine being lucky enough to get a gift from Rajiv. ❤
I was just thinking the same thing! It can even be empty, I just want something wrapped.
@@annabaker6005yes just a thought counts.
He brings bagels every time he comes up from the city . NO wrapping but he is thinking of something I love getting :)
❤❤❤❤❤
Oh yes. I would be thrilled with a paper clip from Rajiv!😊
This man has such a beautiful spirit. It is like watching a mix of a high society Martha Stewart mixed with Mr. Rogers.
Your comment is so spot on 😊
Perfect description. Heavy on the Martha Stewart.
❤
I watch Hollywood films with my thumb on the FFW button. But THIS I watched from start to finish.... What sorcery doest thou weave Master Surendra!!?
The sorcery, the magic, of doing something with care, dedication and love ❤
Nice reflection on your mother. Gently closing a door also reflects a person’s force. Use no more force than is needed.
First time seeing something tacky on this channel! 😅
Reusing paper is so good. I hate tearing up these beautiful printed papers. The papers are a gift from them too. I reuse many and take pleasure and now people wrap my presents in beautiful hand picked paper bc they know im "gentle" with it and save and reuse them.😂🎉. May 2025 be kind and gentle to all.🎉🎉🎉
Rajiv is genuinely one of my favorite human beings
The real gift is the time, effort and attention he put into it.
Love how conscious you are of not ripping the paper, my mother would always save it and reuse it, and I picked that habit up from her, it reminds me of her
My go to wrapping paper was always the colored cartoon section of the Sunday newspaper….back in the olden days!😂 Love you Rajiv!!😘🙏🥰
I did that before too, back in the day!!
Me too I'm famous for that over here, South Florida native.
Another life lesson from Rajiv. How peaceful it would be if everyone cared about the noise they inflict on others.
I like your word haha, "inflict". It is true and most people, and city planners, do not consider this. I'll also admit I'm learning later in life not to be a brute.
I use thrifted wrappingpaper books from the 90s. They look luxurious.
Where do you find those? Sounds lovely!
The tag alone is worth watching the entire video!
Great tips! My real takeaway is that not every Christmas gift needs to be wrapped in holiday themed paper.
Be different, be unique ✨️
I am at the „no violence“ and „think about the sounds you make“ part. I love this so much. I suffered from sudden hearing loss this year and was super sensitive to sounds like plastic bags, sneezing and these kinds of chrustling sounds. It is so kind of you to think about this!
Butterflies because the shape of a harp is like a butterfly wing 🦋
I never thought of that. I love it!
It would make you feel so special to get a present wrapped with such consideration and care.
Not to mention the tag and the handwriting!!!
I’ve still got a two piece box that I wrapped for myself more than 20 years ago. I had done a collage of flower pictures and then used colour photocopies of my collage to wrap the box. I can relate to your happiness when wrapping the gift.
When I wrap gifts, part of the present is the wrapping of it.
Great video!
Thank you.
Me too. When I was a child after we opened our birthday or Christmas presents we would use the wrapping paper to line our dresser drawers.
The sheer joy on your face at 34:49 is what the holidays are all about, sharing what you love with the people in your life ❤
LOL 😊 yes - I thought the same thing. This video made ME so happy too

Rajiv, I find it so very helpful when you think out loud…but not loud “loud”…gently. 🤗🌸🐝

Sometimes I’m concerned that my wrapping is so special that the gift is a letdown. 😂. I love wrapping gifts!
Me too! I love wrapping so much.
Same!! I will fancy wrap the silliest, small gifts.
Me 😂
I used my old academic posters from research conferences to wrap baby shower presents for my friend and colleague from grad school. It was probably the best use of the research!
I have the best story.

This is only my second video of yours that I have watched, and you are so calm and fun to watch. Great information and presentation, too.
Don’t be frantic! Do a little bit every evening, so that you don’t get too overwhelmed. Happy Holidays Rajiv! You always bring such great content ❤ 🎄 🎁
Excellent video. Those gold bangles are fantastic!
Ooh! Little ribbon tabs glued inside the top half of the box can help pull the halves of the box apart without a struggle. Or just lay a ribbon on top of the gift and you can pull both ends
Great idea.
Thank you, that's a great idea!
This inspired my partner and I on a country walk to open and close all of the gates as gently as possible, so that Rajiv’s mother would be proud.
I do agree with you regarding the tape, it is ugly when you have wrapped a beautiful gift. I will now look for the rubber cement. You have a very soothing way of speaking. ❤
Rajiv is the gift that keeps on giving! Thank you so much!
We just do not deserve Rajiv, but I'm so glad to exist at the same time as him

Ten minutes in to my first video of his and I’m in love! 🥰 But seriously I love EVERYTHING he’s saying!!!! What a remarkable young man!!!!

I dont recall how I came across Rajiv's channel, but I'm so glad I did, thanks for sharing your world with us, you are a rare jem Rajiv❣️
I just bought rubber cement to make paper bag snowflakes and WOW that scent is a fun travel back in time.

Rajiv is the only person who can make randomly breaking into an accent seem mature and classy somehow
The lighting in this case from the windows is perfect….
YOU ARE A GIFT, RAJIV. Thank you for everything you do for us.💚💕💙
The nice surprice would be you get your gift from the same wrapping paper you used to your friend which circulated amung few friends and come to you back and when you open this paper you will think about how many people touched this papre and opened and enjoyed. Perhaps we all shpuld start this when we do the secret Santa who is returning your paper thoughtfully and carefully! Love so much the passion he put on every little details!
Whenever I watch your videos I feel a little smarter.😊Happy holidays
That was a beautiful lesson that your mother had shared with you. I have found in our society people don’t care how their behaviors impact others, especially when it comes to fragrances I won’t even go down that road
Violence to the paper! Rajiv is such a gem
You were so joyful while you were wrapping. It made me smile. Hope the holidays make you smile just like on your video!
At times he seems giddy. I just love his approach to life.
His joy in gift wrapping is infectious. It made me smile too. 😄
Rubber Cement! Of course! Ever since I took photography in high school, rubber cement became my favorite glue lol. I can't believe I never thought of it for gift wrapping before. It's genius!

The rubber cement is a marvelous idea.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I always say it is all about the presentation. When I gave my co workers gifts they never wanted to open because of the wrapping. 😊

I learned something new about Rubber Cement application! Thanks Rajiv!

Yes whomever get your gifts are very lucky as you have amazing taste of unusual and unique things. ❤️🙏❤️
I love reusing packaging/boxes too ! even when it's slightly torn/taped out, I can scrunch up the beautiful paper as stuffing in a paper bag
I love your pieces of living well, Rajiv... my cousin who died in 1986 and I would always do these kind of things together; unusual, especially for kids from Texas. We were both artists and felt so grateful for being kin to each other. I miss him every day.
I love it! I just love it! Thank You Rajiv!! Much love sent your way! ❤
Thank you for crossing that t! I practice what I call “craptastic” gift wrapping, handed down from my mother, where you do it the best you can, and quickly and then just LOVE the results and know that the recipient will too. Wrinkles and funny corners and all.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the butterfly box. So special.
Absolutely Lovely. ❤ 🎄 🎁
I remember rubber cement and the smell, bringing it back Rajiv!!!!
Gorgeously seamless.
No other words required.
Your content low key gives me black creek pioneer village vibes in the best way 😭💖
I love how what you do is with intention and making the ordinary beautiful. I’m so happy I found your channel.
Yes, I’m right there with your wrapping vibe. It’s so satisfying when you finish the job. I like to play music, and take my time. When I’m happy with the decorations, I stop and gently put the gift aside. Happy wrapping.😊 I see you !
I can't wait to try all these ways of wrapping gifts Rajiv. Great video yet again! Happy Christmas from Australia x
Rubber cement! Genius! I like to make junk journals so I save every scrap of wrapping paper, ribbon, and anything else that comes with the gift.😊

I dident know about rubber cement I have seen it when I moved to the United States years ago but never knew what it was until now
