- Becoming a clinical pharmacist didn't happen overnight.
👉 I had 9 years of pharmacy experience before starting my current job.
👉 I held local and national leadership positions during pharmacy school.
👉 I worked as a pharmacy intern at a pediatric hospital to help set me up to work in pediatrics in the future.
👉 I did a residency while living in a different state than my husband...in a pandemic.
Today, you see the end result not the process and work it took to get here so if you want to be a clinical pharmacist one day, here are some tips to help:
💊 Plan to do a residency. Learn what it takes to get into the programs you are interested in.
💊 Study! Grades matter, but learning the information you will need to care for your future patients matters more.
💊 Work in a hospital pharmacy if you can.
💊 Take a leadership role. You don't need 10 positions during school. You just need one that you do extremely well and are passionate about
💊 Don't forget to take care of yourself along the way. Trust me, entering residency burned out won't do you any favors!
Now, go put in the work this week! 💪 You've got this!👊

Can you explain in detail what is a clinical pharmacist? And can they open their own clinic? And which course is required? Pls let me know ❤
There's several videos on my channel that talk about this! I recommend checking them out. 😊
Can you compare pharm to CLS (if you know much about their path) thanks!
I'm not familiar with CLS, so I can't speak to that path. Sorry! Maybe there is a CLS channel on here that can help!
@@HappyPharmLife no worries! Appreciate u!
I wanted to pharmacy over dental but I heard pharmacist are overworked and underpaid so I don’t k is anymore😭
Check out my channel. I talk about the pharmacy job market in several of my videos
Pharmacy techs are underpaid, pharmacists are not.
@@Pink_pr1ncessPharmacists are definitely underpaid. Some new grad Pharmacists are only starting out at $49-$55 an hour. That’s not a lot for the time and money you put into it. Additionally, on average, the base pharmacist salary has not been adjusted for inflation since 2003. We are a severely underpaid field.
Can we become clinical pharmacist after bpharm???? 🤔
Please reply ❤️
I am in the US so we only have PharmD programs but I imagine you can as long as you complete the required training. I'm not an expert on this so please visit nabp.pharmacy for more information!
Hi iam also an bpharm student .. are you currently studying ?
Noo in India u need to have pharmd or mpharm
If you are Indian so you can do pharm d post bacceularate after b pharm degree
You won’t believe this! So for a year I’ve had foamy urine which has really bothered me and mild flank pain. I did multiple urinalysis and there was no protein found or Glucose. Therefore I decided to see a urologist, the urologist charged me $300 to do an in-house urinalysis and claimed to have found the pathogen E.Coli and ESBL in my urine culture but when tested at labcorp nothing is found. She then proceeded to prescribe the antibiotic Levoflaxin but when I said it causes liver failure she changed it to Doxycycline Mono but I also didn’t take that, now she wants me to take Bactrim for 25 days. Who prescribes an antibiotic for 25 days? When I ask her questions, she rudely replies if you won’t do as I say go see someone else. What should I do? I’m a 33 year old African man
What is the pharm d course duration in US and in how much time you get the job
PharmD course typically takes 6-8 years to complete counting the undergraduate requirements that are needed before going to pharmacy school. Most PharmD programs are 4 years long.
thank you for your great contents
😂😂😂
Is it worth getting a bachelors?
I personally don't think so and I did not get a bachelor's to get my pharmd
I want to become a pharmacist but I don't have good grades or money but I am willing to give it my all. Is it considerably more harder without grades and money?
You don't have to have perfect grades to be a pharmacist, but consider the classes that you have lower grades in. A PharmD requires a lot of biology and math and even more chemistry. If those are the classes you struggle with, you may need additional tutoring to be successful in pharmacy school. As for money, nearly every pharmacist I know took out student loans to complete school. Most students also work as a pharmacy intern during school to make additional income while gaining pharmacy experience.
@@HappyPharmLife I truly appreciate your in-depth response. God bless you and good luck with your profession
