  • We found an old tree that had the perfect gold trap! We found big gold in the base of the tree so we cleaned out all the gold nuggets, gold pickers and gold flakes we could find. This Creek also host the infamous gold from the culvert pipe gold video recently posted. This is further up at the headwaters and closer to the gold vein source. In the video we did some gold panning in various other spots on the creek.

Along with continual panning look for a secondary rock type. especially in a slide bench of non tumbled gravel and rocks? The rock there looks fairly homogeneous. When you find the second rock type you'll know you are by the contact zone? As good deposits usually ride along in a shear zone or fault where two rock stratas meet?
The gold you found is flood gold being removed from an older 2nd cycle deposit eroding into the stream? Questioning next steps NOT giving advice. Trying to be a good student is all.

Heavily considering getting one of those pans. I can do a full pan without riffles in a minute or two anyways, panning into a pan I see I've really no gold loss.
