In today's video I will try and polish headlights without sanding, just with a drill and toothpaste in my manner - using a minimal set of tools. It will be also a kind of life hack testing. There are a lot of videos on RUclips about headlights polishing using toothpaste, so today I will test if it works. I chose a whitening toothpaste, which is more abrasive. I made up my mind not to make use of any sandpaper, mostly because there were no deep scratches on my headlights. I wanted just to refresh the lenses.
As usual I used just a few tools: an old grinder spindle, a foam pad, a drill and a whitening toothpaste. I will be glad if this video helps you.

Thank you Roman!!! Can you give me a tip: can this procedure be done on the back lamps too? Also, can I do this to the headlamps every year, or there is a certain number of procedures after which the plastic will have holes in it?:)

Thanks you for watching, Dima! I have never tried to polish back lights, nevertheless why not? You can polish headlights every year, unless you use a sandpaper. Sandpaper can make holes, toothpaste will not. Just keep in mind that you should never exceed the speed of polishing not to melt the plastic.

good job! BUT there's one problem all that work you just put in will go to waste because within a year those head lights will be dull and or yellowing due to no UV protection added and that protection come in the form of a clearcoat preferable 2k clear which will give you years of enjoyment Vs months.

Right you are, a good UV protection is necessary to enjoy polished lenses for years. But I prefer to polish them once or twice a year with a toothpaste and it turns out much simpler and cheaper.
