      Hello, and thank you for your questions. If you are asking about the inward block at the beginning of the form, it is for a roundhouse punch. the downward motion is after the punch is blocked, you feed the action of the block into a tight figure 8 to start the motion of the chop to the neck. It is the embryonic version of tge technique 5 swords. as far as the music. I will try to find out.

      @@davidcoppock641 Thank you, but I meant the block that is shown at the fourth minute, twenty-eighth second. I also saw it in a formal exercise where only blocks are practiced, and it reminded me of a block versus a front kick, only in reverse (it's like soto uke and uchi uke in Japanese karate).

      That block is for a front kick to the body or groin. the block turns the opponent so his kidney is open for the follow-up punch
