The real-real version of this video is for them to rate the tamales with the chef standing behind them with a chancla in hand. 11/10, across the board.
@@rosie95401able Check out the Mamah's video where they try each other's tamales anonymously. The reviews couldn't be different. These guys were just rude.
Best tamales are wrapped in banana leaves. Otherwise they dry out too quickly. Spent 3 years traveling throughout Mexico. Best ones I had were from a street vendor in Mahajual down by the border with Belize.
I didn't get a chance to learn how to make tamales from my mom, but later in life, I learned how to make them by my aunt. After a while, now they taste just like my Tia's. I like to make the chile de tomatillo with chicken. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I get tamales from the lady that sets up a small table on the sidewalk in front of Oxxo. There are generous in size and the masa is on point. 25 pesos. Mexico rules!
Soy de mty y en mi antiguo jale había una señora vendiendo quesadillas estilo cdmx afuera de un oxxo también, nunca las había probado y estaban deliciosas!!! Esos son los puestos chidooos
Small tamales are underrated. The bigger ones are often times doughy and dry. A small tamale made properly taste great when you reheat it on the comal and you get that crunchy and soft combo. And No need to overly season the masa If the filling is on point.
True, though big tamales if done right they have a good balance... but always season your masa, a masa without salt nor flavour takes off a lot from the experience.
I'm not Mexican but my brother in law was I find great memories of me sitting at the dinning room table with ten of his family members listening to holiday music making tamales 🫔 for Christmas dinner each and every person in that room was very happy we had a great time together him , me and his family made over 75 dozen tamales 🫔 for family and friends want great memories
LMAO, god forbid they... critique the tamales. You don't need to be an expert on cooking to be able to say if something tastes good or not. Get over yourselves.
@ dude gave it a straight zero acting like it the worst thing he ever ate and acting completely ridiculous but sure I’m the one who needs to get over myself.
nobody makes them from scratch, if you buy maize you need to boil it and take it to a mill unless you use fresh corn which will taste quite different and that's what you seem to like better.
Two different things, masa is made of maize which is a type of corn with bigger grains, that maize can either be bought dried, then rehydrated, nixtamalized and milled or straight up using fresh maize. Corn on the other hand has smaller grains and has more taste, some use sweet yellow corn.
It would be better if somebody from a coastal mexican town rates them, last time I watched them I could only facepalm on the horrendous ceviches, even the guy who bragged about doing ceviche in sinaloa and came up with one of the worst iterations. Good ceviche in sinaloa is found only in Mazatlán and is made with just sierra and carrots, or shrimp ceviche. If you want ceviches that blow your mind: Baja California ceviches, lots of them say "sinaloa style" but nope, that style is absent in sinaloa (do not count tijuana as it is not a coastal town per se).
I love Mexican food but hate tamales for some odd reason. If they had more meat and fillings maybe but I don't like all that "breading" My Mexican friend had his mom living with his family. She started mixing Velveeta cheese with her homemade salsa. I started dipping the tamales in that. Was freaking awesome. Was my idea of course.
That's an easy way to know somebody doesn't know how to make tamales. Even if they are big they need to be balanced, with seasoned meat and masa. Tamales in banana leaf are quite bad, people like to eat them in the south but they usually have a less developed taste so they tend to like crappy things better.
Wha would make this channel so much better is actually showing the food...foreal wtf i showed my people this channel for the first time nd they first said that yous don't show the food come on.
Never seen Vicente this harsh. They really let the mamahs! have it. A bit shocking (depressing) they didn't do better. Also, most of those tamales seemed normal-sized, at least, but the papahs! kept calling them small. What's up with that? At least in Texas, most tamales tend to be small- to medium-sized; you need at least half a dozen to fill up. That's why it sucks to make them--so much work! But soooooooo delicious!
Great video. We often see them talking trash about store bought food and recalling how much better is what they cook... only to see they are quite bad at cooking jajajajajajajaja tamalitos pedorros todos feos y secos.
Next episode: Mamahs react to Papah’s salary! On the one hand I can’t believe how rude the men are talking, but then on the second hand, if my husband was up there he better not be praising some other females cooking. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 jkjkjk
Next video, mamah's react to papa's eating mamah's tamales.
That was my first thought
Yikes 😂
Rip papa's
And then the mamas try the papas’ tamales. 😂
These are the guys who think tapatio is the best salsa. 😂
The best tamales are wrapped in banana leaves not corn
The real-real version of this video is for them to rate the tamales with the chef standing behind them with a chancla in hand.
11/10, across the board.
😂
This is hilarioussss lmaoo, just casually roasting tf outta Lucy’s tamales
Now we need a Mamah’s reacting to Papa’s trying Mamah’s tamales 😂😂😂
☠️😂
No we need mamahs trying papahs tamales
I really hoped that was going to be the button on this episode!
I love these papahs (Vicente, Tiberio and Juan) but I really wanted to see Arturo criticando the tamales. The tamales look super yummy!
I want to see these guys make tamales.
Yeah, they were pretty critical on some. I really feel like the things they say, are unrealistic at times.
I mean if you're Mexican you help make them or you don't eat any
@flyingchinchilla2683 the point was to critique the tamales..... good and bad.

Now they have to cook something and the mamahs have to try it
Yes! This!!!
I'm learning Spanish. I love this channel
Papah's your honesty humbles me!
Happy Holidays!🤣🎄❤
Now we need the recipe for Martha's tamales!! ♥♥
I didn't get a chance to learn how to make tamales from my mom, but later in life, I learned how to make them by my aunt. After a while, now they taste just like my Tia's. I like to make the chile de tomatillo with chicken. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Mine is the red pork
I want them to cook some now and have the ladies rate it
I really enjoy Tiberio. And I want Martha to adopt me!
LOVE these collabs🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Store bought almost won 😅

That's nice for gringos with Americans dollars but 25 pesos is still a lot of money for Mexican people
Every Mamah: "I don't like them big. This is a good size."
Every Papah: "It's too small" The Papahs are right too.
Tamale keychain 😂 I actually want that
This was adorable
Watching history, the very last Papah! Video. RIP Fellas!
The crossover we needed!
Wait what store brand was it they liked?! With chili and cheese, yum
Oh this is a smart question!

for real though the first two tamales looked iffy
They were probably kind of old at that point.
love the collab

Tamales are delicious!
Martha wins again. I want to try her tamales 😋
Would have liked a link to the different mamah’s channels
I agree, it's all in the dough. So many times it's bready and dry or too greasy and dense.
I make Costa Rican tamales because that's what I learned as a teen bride back then they're yummy
I like this third party rating.
Next video: “Having them make tamales”
It’s one thing to critique the flavor but these dudes were so critical like they were experts.
LMAO, god forbid they... critique the tamales. You don't need to be an expert on cooking to be able to say if something tastes good or not. Get over yourselves.

Next up, Mamah’s rate Papah’s carne asada!!
3:28 where did that accent come from
If you make the masa from scratch it's more work but it can make them 10 times better
nobody makes them from scratch, if you buy maize you need to boil it and take it to a mill unless you use fresh corn which will taste quite different and that's what you seem to like better.
Como se me antojaron los tamales de mi abuela
Thank God Martha beat out the store-bought tamales. (These guys are tough to please.)
Corn in tamales seems redundant to me. Like the whole masa is already made of corn. 😂
Two different things, masa is made of maize which is a type of corn with bigger grains, that maize can either be bought dried, then rehydrated, nixtamalized and milled or straight up using fresh maize. Corn on the other hand has smaller grains and has more taste, some use sweet yellow corn.
“You know”
I’m not even Mexican but I was starting to get offended when I thought the store bought was going to win lol.
Se les olvidaron el catsup 😢
Next video mamahs rate papahs ceviche

So when are they going to make the tamale if they’re such experts? Let’s see how good they can make them
I like to think the papahs r married to the mamahs
Call y’all please tell us what store bought tamales they tried!?
I wonder if they reheat and overcook the contestants food.
My guess is: microwave, they get that way when microwaved.
A 0 😭😭
I love Mexican food but hate tamales for some odd reason. If they had more meat and fillings maybe but I don't like all that "breading"
My Mexican friend had his mom living with his family. She started mixing Velveeta cheese with her homemade salsa. I started dipping the tamales in that. Was freaking awesome.
Was my idea of course.
I used to hate tamales but later tried Oaxacan tamales which use banana leaf instead of corn husk. I love those way better.
Skip the corn husk tamales. 95% of the time they're too dry and not enough filling. The banana leaf ones are good.
oh nah ur on that tex mex shi but banana leaf tamales are better
That's an easy way to know somebody doesn't know how to make tamales. Even if they are big they need to be balanced, with seasoned meat and masa. Tamales in banana leaf are quite bad, people like to eat them in the south but they usually have a less developed taste so they tend to like crappy things better.
Have the man make the tamales and have the women rate them
Y'all keep collabing with your own channels then you might as well start a channel called "Familia!" •~•
Don’t skimp on the meat.
Not too much masa
The perfect tamales are from Michoacan, and made by people from Michoacan living in the USA.... Everything else, doesn't even come close.
😋
Wha would make this channel so much better is actually showing the food...foreal wtf i showed my people this channel for the first time nd they first said that yous don't show the food come on.

WTF Papahs? Let's see you make tamales. Yeesh. These guys are so rude.
Also, did the production team give them old, cold tamales or something??
Eating tamales with a fork is crazy to me, these are Mexicans ? 😂
prolly wanted to be clean for the cameras
Then how? U just shove it in your face hole?! I’ve never seen anyone in my family not eat them with a fork
Great video. We often see them talking trash about store bought food and recalling how much better is what they cook... only to see they are quite bad at cooking jajajajajajajaja tamalitos pedorros todos feos y secos.
I prefer when the Papah's are kind, not too judgmental.
They don’t want a chankla upside the head. Hormel wont throw cans or chanklas neither will Joe Trader 😂
@@ravenpoe7093 Who is Joe Trader?
@ Trader Joe’s. They tried Trader Joe’s tamales, Amys Hormel and others on the last video
Next episode: Mamahs react to Papah’s salary!

Dang they wrong for that!
Lol, I would have guessed she would win. No offense its just the other two I get lazy cook vibes 😂.
Wow. I didn’t like this at all. They seemed hypercritical and mean with how they were judging. Not cool, papah 😢
you can see they are not Mexican
I asked and y’all delivered TY 🫶🏻
