Should this match have happened at Wrestlemania? Let us know in the comments below!
@@InsideTheRopes I would say probably not because just because he did the Wrestler, that is still different from actually wrestling especially in front of thousands of people. It may have been good but most likely would have been forgettable if it did happen.
Legend…
Yeah sure.. if done right. "The Cat" maybe should've done that match because he did a "match" in the movie with the Ram. Keeping it short, bill it as The Ram vs The Cat. Done some "mystery promos" of the Ram.. Then bringing Rourke out as "The Ram," Mickey Rourke .. it would've sold the movie in Advertising, but it wouldve caused some Intrigue to wrestling fans. Mickey was into boxing at one point, so this couldve also got Mickey in better shape as well to do the match, and did some training to put on a good show. No need for Mickey to get in a Ring if he was unfit. It could've benefitted WWE as well. The movie backers would've paid WWE a large sum to make the match happen, that's also a benefit to the WWE.
I want a match for Rourke while watching the movie for the 1st time. Such a shame it could really happened but they screwed it up.
Can everyone stop and give the other guy credit for not interrupting the way 99% of other hosts would have? He stayed silent
The old adage “less is more”
He was probably a big fan and loved hearing the story as much as we did.
I saw William Shatner at a convention. He was in the middle of a story when one of the workers interrupted him to tell him they were going to do questions.
Shatner was a little rude, telling the fan not to interrupt him.
And Shatner was 100% correct. He was in control of the situation, we were happy to listen to any story he wanted to tell. The man had been doing these kind of talks since before the kids parents were born.
So true! Plus Jericho is so f*ckin great at setting and telling a tale.
Yeah Kenny is awesome
what's crazy is Jericho himself is transforming into Randy The Ram
it doesn't seem great, yeah.
J Ram. He's his biggest fan.
1000%
Jericho isn’t the internet darling he once was but the guy has been there done that and is an icon in pro wrestling.
Jericho is still on top.
The way Chris does his Vince impression makes it sound Vince ribbed him about being stiff.
That’s what I was kind of thinking too that maybe Vince was ribbing him afterwards.
@10:00 Sad that most people don't know who Sonny Chiba was. Growing up in the 70s and 80s he was fairly well known action star with VHS and TV even in the states.
Seriously one of the only genuine bad ass action stars.
You have to remember this interview was done in the UK. They likely never saw all the American grindhouse and B-Movie Kung-Fu/martial arts films that were so prevelant in the US in the 1970s and 80s. Jericho likely wouldn't have made all those references if he were in the US. He even described who Larry King was to the audience. Also, most people know Chiba now because if Tarantino.
Lol, I was thinking the same thing
Nobody tells HBK "he exceeded the time limit"
That's like telling Michael Jordan he played to many minutes
Bc he didn’t he retired at the right time
Only because he did sexual favors for Vince McMahon. It's not who you know it's who you blow
Yeah, Hulk Hogan is the Michael Jordan of Wrestling not Shawn Michaels
@@romans52345-cy3tqme when I lie

I love Jericho's stories!
Jericho is always the cool guy in his stories.
LMFAO
Hey, why tell a story that includes oneself if you're not gonna be one of the cool, level-headed, funny guys in it?! Also, Jericho is cool guy, so it kinda checks out.
Lol I think hbk came off the goat here.
Pro wrestling is self promotion
Agreed. He’s never taken an L in any of them.
Roddy also cut a fantastic promo to Cena during the Nexus angle that was after the one Jericho talked about
Yeah... WWE dropped the Ball with him.... He deserved the title way more than like 80% of the guys who won it
@@pablo77bar60 Wrong. Piper wouldn't lay down. There was no way to get the belt off him once he had it.
@alphanerd7221 Yes, he would. he just didn't want to be fed to Hogan during the 80's like so many other guys at the time as it killed their momentum once feud was over. He lost to Bret Hart at wrestlemania a couple of years later.
@@craigshannon6011 Wrong. I've read Piper's book. he refused to be pinned.
@alphanerd7221 You're wrong. I read his book too he has been pinned in several matches. He didn't want Hogan to pin him.
To think we could have gotten Randy The Ram versus Chris Jericho IRL is crazy to know 😮
No wonder there is zero downvotes. This is possibly the best shoot interview answer ever
Nope, I down voted. Christopher Irvine and Fuzzy are trash.
I bet there are a shit ton of down votes. The pussy billionaire RUclips/Google removed the visibility because they wanna control everything.
Downvotes aren't shown on youtube anymore. Only the creators can see it
downvotes were removed last election to protect the democrats and biden
Strongly agree with the above statement. Chris and his band are both hot trash 😂
Vince at the end killed me. OMG that's so hilarious.
Funny cause Jericho is transforming into him now
He described himself perfectly lol
Perhaps on purpose to set up an angle.
I thought the same thing. Lol
Jericho is still an upper card wrestler on TV every week earning around $4,000,000 a year. The Ram worked in a grocery store deli, lived in a trailer and wrestled once a month in community halls. Jericho is nowhere near that station in life.
@@misterslats lol. Not to mention a legit rock star and top podcaster. But the fanboys in the Corney/Meltzer/Hausman crowd desperately need to feel like they're dunking on somebody...even if it's laughable in reality. Now here I am defending people I never liked like Hogan and Jericho! 🤣
It's been a while since I saw "The Wrestler" but in fairness to Rourke, I don't recall a lot of promo stuff in that movie. So maybe he understood the performance aspect of working in the right, but not on the microphone.
The only promo is at the end when Ram gives his own eulogy before the final match.
“When you have a five star match you can tell me how f*ckin’ long my match is, until then shut your f*ckin’ mouth!” Classic HBK! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Frank Shamrock vs Vince McMahon !!! Holy SHIT !! What could have been…
“Vince that’s Ken’s brother.. who was better.”
“Oh..”
I used to think Frank was better too. Until I saw him get his ass kicked by Bas Rutten...and Ken beat Bas Rutten(twice).
@@odysseusnissan and Frank Shamrock has a win over Tito Ortiz (who Ken lost to 3 times), Minoru Sizuki twice (who also beat Ken) and beat Bas in his Pancrase debut. Frank definitely has the better resume
@@denahomchikn89 I get what you’re saying about the mma math. But I think(know) Franks a POS for what he did to his mother’s dog. I’ll take Ken’s resume/career any day with the title of “Deadliest Man on Earth” and his WWE fame compare to Frank known for being dishonorable and not part of the UFC hall of fame. But yeah, back in the day…he was the best.
Frank was infinitely better than Ken.
@@odysseusnissan did you seriously use MMAth like a fuxking 12 year old? And there is NO shame to losing to Bas Rutten, dullard.
How ironic Snuka was all about peace and love.
Yeah, fuqq that!
🤔🤣😂
Killer
We need Jericho on one dead man show and a six feet under
Jericho one man show. He could do this forever.
Do people realize jerichos legend is cemented and he is living his best life while people hate him with out knowing him personally. Yes jericho is winning ❤
.... most of us realize Jericho is a great wrestler and one of the most arrogant man in the entertainment industry. A person can be both.
His band is pretty good too. The dude loves his Metal.
I had no ideas Chris was this good at impersonations. His Vince is spot on😂
Mickey Rourke almost got his a** kicked by Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a hotel hallway. Mickey hard-bumped Jim’s shoulder, and then tried to get Jim to fight with him. That would have been a big mistake for Mickey to scuffle with him.
Yeah Jim is a real TOUGH GUY! HOOOOOOOOOOOO!! And whats even more crazy Duggan is like the nicest dude !
Right? Jim is a big sumbitch and already had a rep for being able to take of himself. Thank God he's a really good dude.
Mickey would’ve hit Ram Jam for the 1 2 3 brother
hacksaw was hard not a soft actor man a damn hick mountain man of steel man he woulda cracked mickey there ain't no gloves n rules mickey in the streets ya damn fool!!!
Uh ..Mickey Rourke was a Professional Boxer for YEARS before he was an actor. Has 27 Amateur Wins. His Pro Career? 6-0-2 (4 KOs, 2 Draws). He'd have whooped Him Duggan up and down that Hotel Hallways.
Piper was the most likeable heel in history.
I didn’t even know alot about wrestling but I loved Piper!
I'll speak up for John Laurinaitis. That guy wrestled in the toughest promotion at the time and against the hardest hitting wrestlers in any fed. Check out his matches against Misawa in AJPW. It will definitely change your opinion on his skill and toughness. Jericho is a great interview.
I was there live for this match. Ricky the Dragon Steamboat was very impressive at that time. He still had it.
Man, one of the greatest wrestling stories, hands down!
He implied Greg valentine was never a good worker ….In his prime the Hammer was a great worker . He just liked to work slow and methodical
He didn’t say he wasn’t. He just said he couldn’t when they were trying to do the match.
The Rhythm and Blues...Honky Tonk Man(Wayne) called them "The Rhythm and Snooze"
I caught that to. Greg worked legit and his matches looked like real fights, or as close as it gets
He never said that. He was talking about guys who could still go in the ring.
@Spooky_515 we all know The Hanner can wrestle. Not today though.
I could listen to Jericho for hours! Kudos to the host for letting Chris tell his stories.
Could listen to chris talk all day ! Living legend
Chris Jericho is the real life version of Randy the Ram. His description of the character Randy is him in AEW today.
Minus the pay from money mark TK……….
He looks like Randy the Ram nowadays
No. AEW is a major company.
@@alphanerd7221 major company that doesn’t do major business. (Aside from Wembley which doesn’t reflect overall revenue, attendance, or sales in the United States)

Ooooh! "Shoot" is a word people from the last century used to describe a normal interview with a wrestler! Migawd, you guys are really super-dooper cool for using it!
Cool to know Chris was also on Immortal Combat with Piper and Billy
Billy?
OH MAN! Just imagine:
VinnyMac gets turned into *a potato* by Frank Shamrock & Then *Ken Shamrock* finds out.
"DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT MAN HAS DONE FOR ME?!" & We're back at a Brother Vs Brother *3 Year Run* Feud.
Mickey Rourke is exposed as the *Greater Power* with a mega stable of *monster heels.*
As Undertaker watches from home with *a delicious* bowl of cucumbers in ranch dressing.
*Shit that never happened for 500, Alex!*
The shoot trivia on display here is mastery.
That would have been awesome.
Findlay & Dean would've handled themselves just fine until security came in but Vince & Jericho would've been in a world of pain.😭😭
I can't get over that Jericho is still going strong, God Bless him.
He's going, I don't know about strong tho.
Yeah , at the buffet

Yeah, I always thought that appearance was a work.
@@CatStanleySpaceDemon duh
Guy loves the sound of his own voice.
Well, they brought him in to talk, so...
Chris talks like he’s the only one in the room like he practiced talking in the mirror for years.
He's one of those small wrestlers who has to try to be dominant before people notice how tiny he is
This is one of the best interviews 😂😂
Jericho's impression of Vince just kills me 😂 "So what do you suggest then damn it"
If that was the reason why Mickey Rourke didn't win the Oscar then I say that was a bullsh*t reason! Mickey was much better & he was more believable than Sean Penn in Milk!
Fast forward a few years jericho turns into Randy the Ram
Without watching, is it because he has eyes and ears?
Love this video, thank you for making my night.
Good for shawn. Ace is going to prison screw him.
My entire existence depends on Mickey Rourke’s feelings about Chris Jericho.
Great guy! So funny! I grew up watching you and The Rock, Stone Cold. You guys should stand proud. Always
Jericho is his own mark
I haven't seen the Iron Claw, but The Wrestler... Best wrestling movie ever.
It's pretty good. I'd still agree with The Wrestler being the most well done wrestling movie. But Iron Claw is able to hit those notes that leave you thinking. Especially the ending scene I don't know a single person who hasn't cried watching that.

Right rourke wanted a real fight
@wingedhussar1453 100 percent, and Rourke would've K.O.'ed his pink highlighted mullet.....
It was actually kinda disrespectful the way Jericho took a run at him. Let's be honest, The Wrestler was a brilliant depiction of what that lifestyle was truly like....Jericho had his nose outta joint about some of Rourke's comments regarding the "sport" of wrestling....

Damn Jericho. Costing Greg Valentine a Wrestlemania payday
Thought this rivalry should’ve happened at WM 25 at the time.
Did he say Greg Valentine wasn’t known as a great worker??? Hammer might have been the best worker of the 80’s and that’s saying something.
It’s cool to hear this because I was there at wrestlemania 25

I think he’s a idiot for saying Piper wasn’t a great worker my god
Piper is five times better than CJ.
Yeah if you go back to his work in Portland he's great. He got to tone it down in the ring by the time he got to WWF, and by that time he had already been wrestling over 15 years.
Valentine was good worker too WTF
@@user-li3fr8jl3b No. No he wasn't lol. In their primes Jericho was better and at this point Piper was not a good worker at all.

Bro, Ricky’s promo at Wrestlemania 3 was awesome.
Jericho is such a sleazy dude. I don’t, for one minute, believe that most of this happened in the way it was described.
Fastest 16 minutes ever, that was incredible.
What a great storyteller! He should do a one-man show!
jericho has become mickey rourke.
Yeah, no, I still remember you from Winnipeg. You picked a fight with my buddy and he knocked you the eff out. He was the type that would put guys in the hospital. You were a lucky boy. Paletta wanted him to be a doorman at one of his dumps and he laughed in his face.

Back in the 80's he became a pro boxer. Strange because he was the lead in some great movies.
Mickey Rourke is not the only one who hates Jericho.
